i prefer icos to be honest. because i was able to join to icos by increasing gas fees etc. but it is very hard to participate to good ieos now. you have to be very lucky for that. that is why i dont like ieos so much.

IEO serves to bolster the strength of the exchange launching it, such as keeping a minimum of 50 BNB on the accounts just to be able to participate in a lottery
that might give you a 10% chance of receiving the new tokens on the IEO.

Because of this huge conflict of interest between the exchange and the investor, it's impossible to tell whether
an exchange is supporting a legitimate project, or just promoting it wildly to pursue its own incentives.

IEO's should not be considered a robust investment vehicle under these circumstances...

The problem would be if there is nothing to recover.

Some just invested everything in ICO and turned out to be scam. Literally vanishing out of thin air. With that, they are lost. It is difficult to recover from that, better yet to just leave the crypto investing thing.

But there are some who are still optimistic. I bet they are in the IEO investments which could protect them a little.
Just dont put your hopes to high. It may happen again and another 3 letter thing will pop out.

Making more money in the name of fundraising with the different platform, so basically not much difference between those things you were mentioned. But at the current trend initial exchange offering are more profitable when compared to initial coin offering so for the short term investment you can prefer initial exchange offering.

I prefer to join IEOs. But the problem is "you cant". For example, for Binance the percentage of the participant is not more than 25% for any IEO. I tried 3 times but I can't. The situation is not different for Huobi.

Personally i do feel safe while investing in a binance launchpad IEO than investing in any random ico i just feel more relaxed and confident and im sure that im not going to waste my money in a fake project because binance has highest level of due diligence, research and filters to avoid bad projects so they will list only the best projects and that is something the investors want.

Well, by coincidence I started a similar discussion here today: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=67.0

And no, decentralisation should be the goal. You are right that there are many scams in ICOs, but they can easily be told by the many red flags they have. Red flags such as: unknown team and advisers, a poorly written whitepaper, a use case that doesn't make sense and so on.
I wonder how much IEOs really make investing safer, after all it is in the interest of an exchange to approve as many projects as possible for maximum profit.
If you could hold an IEO on a decentralised platform I think that would be better.

Thank you for your feedback. I have wrote that article as i am a Co-Founder and Social Media Manager of Stag3. We currently still finish the whitepaper and the website & of course i am faced with the question where to old the funding rounds.

your point of maximum profit is exactly right and that is one of the reason i am not sure how long that will last.

- not much happening yet but soon all the updates will follow.

For those that have been around in the Cryptocurrency market for a pretty long time the question to invest in IEOs or ICOs has been the main discussion point in 2019.
For some especially on “bitcointalk” it is clear that they won't invest in IEO anymore. After I have followed lots of discussion on bitcointalk i realized that people have moved on. It is a clear that people invest in IEOs as the platforms will evaluate the projects and give the investor the feeling of security.
Nevertheless i have observed a trend. The numbers in the ICO market have been declining but stayed fairly stable in 2019. The main reason for moving on to IEOs was the astonishing amount of scams that had flooded the market, since it was easy to make a lot of money.
This move to IEOs has something good. I believe that as harder it gets to hold an ICO as more the projects have to do to convince potential investors. Scammers want easy money and my hope is that the ICO market will come back slowly. Projects that will hold an ICO have to invest more time to convince people.
I sadly had to accept that those who scammed investors destroyed the dream of projects with little money that have great ideas. To hold an ICO and build a community of investors around it is a great way to fund your project without going to big VC firms. Unfortunately those you scammed investors destroyed the ICO market till now and it will take a lot of time to recover.
I have accepted that IEOs are currently the way to fund a project. The only thing that worries me is the power we give those exchanges. Is it really god idea to give that much power to exchanges in the cryptomarket.
Please let me know your thoughts. I am looking forward to good feedback & discussions.
