BTC is now the base.

Most of the exchanges have BTC as prime currency to trade with.

If BTC will have the hard fork, means BTC will sink.

Is that means that all exchanges will now put ETH as prime coin to trade with?

This is just a wet dream. If he see a hard split, there will be two version of bitcoin. One will die soon, and the other will be even much stronger than current bitcoin.

ETH has nothing to with this. Ether will fight to keep its second best position only.

....one will die, another will be stronger....

is this a pure guess?

it is more like a blantant 100% inflation, btc wull worth less

If BTC falls the causative agent, being the new split will

if bitcoin hard fork eth will drop to 3rd place, 2 bitcoin will try to competing each other. you heard from this legend here first on bitcointslk eth will be 3rd and the shit will dying out without anyone doing anything to it because of clogging and bloat. eth is a poorly designed get rich quick scam.

some people always be compare between bitcoin to altcoin even some of them hoping that there is an altcoin could be the replacement of bitcoin but i think if bitcoin isn't became the king of cryptocurrency anymore then there is no altcoin could be the replacement of it and possibility if the king dead the followers also will be dead too because i'm pretty sure most people more likely to considering bitcoin as long term investment and rare to see the people invest for altcoin only because the future of altcoin is so unpredictable
I agree with you Bitcoin is still the king of cryptocurrency. If Bitcoin collapses then surely many other altcoin will fall apart because the altcoin still depends on the blockchain platform. I think Bitcoin is still the top currency for long-term investment as Bitcoin will be very well developed in the future.

What do you mean saying altcoins still depend on the blockchain. Blockchain is NOT Bitcoin. The price of Bitcoin doesn't reflect to the qualities of blockchain technology.

I will accept one thing the Bitcoin is king of all cryptocurrencies it will not give his place to other altcoins that much easier. Eth is fast growing currency, and in future, it has good value but to replace Bitcoin it needs a number of years. Becasue still, all altcoins price depends on bitcoin price. If Bitcoin lost reputation, then other coins also lose their reputation.

I believe ethereum can take bitcoin place if there is forking, eth is the strongest candidate to replace bitcoin position, the users amount is also quite a lot compare to other alt coin and the investors for implementing eth is also quite a lot
I'm quite disagree with your speculation, even there's forking, I can't believe that ethereum can replace the bitcoin as a king. I believe that ethereum had a potential to be a king but this is not the right time replace bitcoin. Maybe if the bitcoin was diminish in crytocurrencies world.

NO

BTC will not sink, if there is a fork, the winning fork will take the place of BTC as we see it now.

I agree with you, the hard fork is technical issues, the price is a market behavior,  and i think the position of BTC will not change in a long time.

Bitcoin isn't sinking and isn't going anywhere, ETH although a competitor is not going to take over from bitcoin, if anything I see ETH dropping even further then what it has been until all of these ICOs fade away and it stops being the new thing to do.

UniDApp - it's DeFi time!
Enthereum will dominate CryptoCurrency if Bitcoin is split into two groups. I think this does not affect investors much since they can trade in both of these coins no problem at all. I think the same as ETH and ETC

Bitcoin hard fork does not means that bitcoin will die it means that bitcoin will be divided into 2 coins like ETH and ETC and you see that after the Fork of Ethereum coin for some time it stays at low price but after that it grow amazingly same will happen with bitcoin that after the fork the one coin which will be better will rule the crypto world....

Bitcoin is still the undisputed king and personally I think that's a good thing. It proves there's a strong, dominant market leader in this space.

Yes I agree also, still bitcoin is on the top, bitcoin is still dumping its market value now because of this August 1 bitcoin split, but it doesn't mean that eth will surpass bitcoin! eth now is also dumping its value.
