Why are keep suggesting investing in several cryptocurrencies, when the question was to select only one? You keep confusing topic starter and not following topic idea at all. Of course it is easier and preferable to diversify investment, but the question was were to go all in.

I would stick to dogecoin though. Every other mentioned cryptocurrency is a technology, a project, there is always something behind it. Thus there will be always who will come up with improved idea, technology, someone that will become better, and selected cryptocurrency one day will be replaced by something new, meaning it will die. Die = bad investment. But dogecoin if phenomenal. Meme coin that other meme crypto did not manage to kill. A meme coin that has nothing behind but managed to show growth.

I will definitely invest my $40,000 in just 3 coins namely BTC, ETH and BNB those coins I think are the most secured and safest coins. But of course I would wait first for the market to be bearish before I would invest because that would be an advantage for us the lower the price the better the profit we can earn. Each and everyone of us have different perspective when it comes to investing, what I can say is do your own research first and choose the best investment wisely.

If you are a long-term investment, I see only three that can give you a good profit anyway and the first one is Bitcoin, Ethereum and Matic, Because when the value of bitcoin kicks hard in the market, Ethereum and Matic are sure to follow Bitcoin's plunge.

Although , I can also say that the others that you mentioned are okay, just that these three that I mentioned have high chances to give us a smile for my opinion and perspective.

Let's skip BTC and ETH for now because they already made their best moment so far but are not close to any development in the future. I think ADA and MATIC have the potential to go beyond the boundary of bull runs when it comes to increasing their price in the future. What I mean by that is, they have the potential to, even more, surpass the other top altcoins when they gonna make something different by developing new innovative updates that would gonna surpass their competitors. They are still in their early stages and there are lots of room for their improvement they just need to make it come true in their upcoming updates.

we have different views and of course what we want to get is the perfect profit from what we do. If there is only one crypto to choose then I think it is better for you to put your funds in matic or polygon, these cryptos are more secure and also have a promising future.
besides that matic is also an altcoin that has a good rating in Cmc

Where there is already a option for bitcoin in my opinions I don't think that I have to choose others because the 40k fund was huge and  I don't see any better option to secure these funds than Bitcoin. Even then if you wanna invest you fund also in Alt coin then I think Ethereum and Polygon (matic) also can be a option but in my case the fund will be for them from total fund is 10% and the other 90% of fund I will invest on bitcoin. And here I just need to make a dca strategy and hold for long-term.

If I have that much money, of course, there are only 2 options there, namely BTC and ETH, nothing else.
I think the main focus is Investment when talking about things like this then indeed we are talking about the long term and of course when doing things like that of course btc and eth are the right things, even though ETH is maybe only 25% or even less than a total of $ 40k but indeed it can still be the rest of bitcoin is a certain thing.

Bitcoin will be a favorite and my target for large demand expectations will be easily met by bitcoin. When I have 40k I will put bitcoin 70% at this stage where bitcoin is really recovering. 20% for ETH and 10% for ARB. The big signals for altcoins are not many but I will be long-term plan for the next bull run with big potential on ETH and ARB.

I think some of the list of coins that you have mentioned are good coins and have the potential for the future, but if you want to invest 40000 $ at once with a long term time, bitcoin is a good choice, besides that a good altcoin besides eth is BNB

Bitcoin and Ethereum, I will continue to prioritize these two most popular and mainstream coins. Bitcoin and Ethereum have historically proven and can still be trusted to be the most consistent and reliable growth assets in cryptocurrencies.
and both may not have grown exponentially overnight like previous cryptocurrencies, but have proven time and time again that they are worth holding onto over the long term. And I will also use other popular coins like Litecoin, BNB, Solana, Cardano, and a few others, but I will stick with the big two which are Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Besides Bitcoin and ETH, coins like ADA, MATIC, DOT, Link and BNB are actually good choices. $40,000 is a huge amount of funds to start so it will be a wise idea not to put all of it into one basket but of course, Bitcoin will be a wise pick and should have the largest investment percentage. Always make sure to pick a coin that will survive in all the market conditions and do not rely its survival on hype. Coins that has proven us a lot and have built a good foundation will be worth investing in.

*What advice would you give me?

You have solid capital to invest, but at the same time you get into all kinds of garbage, like SHIB. What do you want to find there? This coin has already made its X's, being just a meme coin. I can't understand the sense of forming such a portfolio because of the fact that you invest in different meme coins, but can't allocate 1 or 2 positions to new and promising altcoins. Why? It's a mystery to me. If you don't understand the point of my misunderstanding, you can look at the illustrative example of portfolios in the Halab contest, https://loyce.club/other/halab_2023/Apr_17_2023.txt. If you pay attention to which portfolios are leading the list, you will realize that there are new and promising altcoins there, and you are loading your portfolio with various garbage that is not worth being in a good investment portfolio.

I am not imposing anything. Just my thoughts.
As he has already added DOGE to his list, which is the main memecoin, besides being a classic of crypto market, I think it's not advised to have more than one cryptocurrency of the same kind on the portfolio, therefore SHIB is completely discouraged. Instead of focusing on too many altcoins, maybe he could decrease the number of invested coins and tokens, while increasing the sum invested on the main cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin and Ethereum).

I disagree if you mean any kind of cryptocurrency at all. For example, if your portfolio will contain some native coins from big blockchains like BNB, MATIC, ETH, ARB, etc., then there is nothing wrong with such portfolio, it will be the most high-quality and conservative portfolio, but if we are talking about all kinds of memcoins, fan tokens, NFT, and other high-risk classes of cryptocurrencies, then I guess I agree that you should not stuff your portfolio with such assets more than 1 name.

So you're want to make $1,000,000,000 from $40,000 in 5 years? so you need to make 25000x multipliers.

I will say it looks unrealistic for Bitcoin to hit $75,000,000 considering if you spent your $40,000 only to buy Bitcoin at $30,000.

So you're need to invest in shitcoins and hope you will make a quick profit after few hours or days, you need to watch the chart everyday for 24/7 without sleeping. If you sleep you will miss a moment to make a quick profit or you will be in lose since your shitcoins will not able survive during bear market.

You're research is a very good one base on the number of coins listed to invest for long term holding with a minimum of next 5years holding, keep a try with Matic, Shiba Inu, Link and BTC, ETH should be the major or higher percentage from your capital to invest on.
This is a good question and it requires the amount of risk we are able to take for us to get into the market and buy whatsoever coins we want to buy. Firstly the amount is quite huge and in this is a case of reality then one need to buy more of Bitcoin than to go for altcoins. Altcoins is good but it has more risk imbedded in it than compared to investing in Bitcoin. Many devs keep creating altcoins for the sake of making profits from the market and we need to be extraordinary careful when making purchase of altcoins from the market.
Let's weighs our risks first.

Bitcoin is GOD
OP, if you are about to risk your $40,000 and only invest in one coin, you'd better be smart and put it in the most secure coin in the market - Bitcoin.
But I tell you that and just like what the others are saying - you better spread that amount. At least 5 different coins are safe enough.
BTC, ETH, Matic, ADA, and LINK - they are not gems but we are looking for an investment that can really be trusted in the long term. But of course, put huge chunks on Bitcoin and ETH in order to have a good portfolio.
Investing in several assets in order to protect our capital is a good move only if those assets belong to different markets, as in that way you can protect your money through the process of diversification, but investing in several coins which have a high level of correlation and depend almost exclusively on bitcoin moving upwards for them to do the same does not seem like a good idea to me.

In that case it would make more sense to invest everything on bitcoin, as not only it is a simpler strategy but it is also safer than investing a portion of our money on different altcoins.

That's not financial advice, it's just my opinion. I'd buy 1 Bitcoin with it, even now. Everything else I'd spend on something else, between 2 or 3 coins tbh. But if I had to put it in only 1 coin, then it would bt Bitcoin.

Invest what you can afford to lose, not what you will regret later when you loss. Gems coins have capacity to pump massively in the market, they're mostly for short-term and not all gems are able to succeed at the end, most of the gems I've encountered doesn't survived the bear season. $40,000 in a single investment is not a wise idea, distributing it to different projects will sealed gigantic returns at the end of the day. Long term investment is a suitable structure for hugh figures, Bitcoin and Ethereum remain my favorite for long term project, they're promising and possess solid roadmap.

Here are my two cents. If you are ready to invest in $40k in one single cryptocurrency and dont wish to diversify risks, then you must be a crazy person. A crazy person should take crazy decision. If I was that crazy person with $40k, I would go with dogecoin and become a huge Elon Musk fan. I would greedy eat every information he gives, support his every idea and dream of dogecoin integration in Twitter, Tesla or SpaceX. And I would be very watchful what Elon post, as they dogecoin always react on that, try to catch every significant dogecoin price change, and reinvest.

If you are seriously calling someone crazy to invest into a singular cryptocurrency and yet would suggest Dogecoin if someone where to do so, who is really crazy? There is absolutely no issue for someone to load $40,000 into a serious choice such as Bitcoin or Ethereum. Diversifying is smart for a savvy investor who is going to adjust their portfolio every week or so. Not everyone has the knowledge or time to do that though.

I suggest you to first read topic name, and pay a closer attention to the word "one". That was the reason why I called OP crazy. His has asked for an advice to invest $40k into one cryptocurrency from the list. Of course I know that it is better to divide among several cryptocurrencies, than to invest in one. Among mentioned by OP cryptocurrencies, each has a potential of a price increase. But if he wants to act crazy, let him make crazy decisions.

P.S. So who is crazy now? Me who has read topic name and starting post or you who probably has read only last post and quoted it?
