And what is long-term or short-term ? who sets the numbers? Even if there is no War , you wont live for eternity ,do you ? You are not long-term on earth itself. Also u dont need food and water to survive. There are meds that can keep u alive for many years,though not readily available.

I'd imagine that nowhere is safe if it turned into a nuclear apocalypse. If you are above ground the nuclear winds would kill you (assuming it had gone off worldwide). You could probably survive underground (outside of the blast radius) but you'd live their your whole life and you won't last years unless you can produce safe food/water/oxygen. It's a shame that nuclear weapons exist, just got to hope that no one is crazy and powerful enough to use them.

It depends on which Countries using it too , cause some have extremely huge amounts & some with only bare minimum.

I agree with you. The world is fragile and if it will collapse to hide from this is not possible. Those who hope to hide from the consequences of nuclear war remind me of the believers. To prove that God is impossible but they believe.

And the water? Radiation with water can also spreading around the world. It all depends on the scale of the war itself. If you explode a few nuclear warheads, a place of escape will remain, and if long would be bombed, then the whole earth can dirty it.

What makes you think that these nations will escape from nuclear war? New Zealand maintains very close relations with the United Kingdom and the other NATO-bloc nations. Argentina is entangled in a territorial dispute with the United Kingdom, over the Falkland Islands (the Argentines call these islands as Isla Malvinas).
