People who view gambling as just entertainment will always be relaxed, will never feel stressed, because what they are looking for is enjoyment and not profit in gambling. Such a person will never experience addiction, because he can control himself well, has strong principles not to overdo it, and of course has a steady income and job. In fact, they tend not to care about the money they have lost, because that is not what they are looking for. But in many cases there are only a few people like that, meaning we more often encounter people who are addicted and go too far in gambling.
Not entirely true, addiction often occurs to people who lost their control overthemselves. So even if a person is only gamble to have fun, there is still a possibility that the person involved can trigger addiction of he lost control of himself.
To explain it, in satisfaction there is this thing called diminishing return. Meaning if a person is into gambling only for fun, and is fixed on the time and fund, there will be a time where he won't be satisfied on his activity anymore. As a result he will possibly allocate more time and more fund to meet the satisfaction he wanted to have. So increasing time or fund will expose him longer to gambling activities and if he failed to control himself, he might find himself totally hooked to the game and eventually addicted to it.
It cannot be denied that people who are addicted to gambling are those who have the most free time, or they are unemployed who do not have a permanent job. So they spend more time gambling with the aim of getting rid of boredom.
Again this is partially true, there are lots of people who have jobs or employed that got addicted to gambling. It is not that the person have lots of time or don't have job that is why they got addicted. Itis that the person had lose their control over their gambling activities and together with different factors get them addicted.
Those who have jobs will tend to spend their time working, and of course they are very disciplined in how they use their time. But that's just a general picture, because quite a few of those who have jobs and a steady income end up being careless in gambling, which can have bad consequences for their lives.
In my opinion this is partially correct, other people who are employed does not have any restriction over their activity outside their job. Since they are free to do so, many tends to lack discipline and is not able to limit themselves once they got fond of what they are doing. Self-discipline does not rely on whether the person is employed or not employed, it relies on the nature of the person and how he has grasp on his self.
