About Do's and Don'ts, as a newbie, you can't tell apart which are scam and which are genuine right away. So you need to learn how crypto works, It is just the same with money the thing is, it is digital. If you are not sure what you are about to enter better ask first your friends or here in the forum for advice before proceeding. As I have noticed now scammers are everywhere and they are targeting newbies so don't trust anyone unless it is reputable.

BTC forum?  Or Bitcoin?  Or Blockchain?  Something else?
If you wants concrete answer you should ask concrete question.
Many questions from newbies are already answered in this section so just read it.

For sure h doesn't know on what he is asking here since as he said he is newbie, best for people who knows that to answer in summarize so that he can slowly understand on how this things really work and how potentially he can earn with it on different categories available around.

And for OP start here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/newbies-read-before-posting-1689727 to get a knowledge about starting up.

Hello, welcome to this forum, this forum is good for sharing cryptocurrency information and gaining knowledge about it. We are all here to discuss the things happen about the crypto world, yes we can earn money here by our posts but it's just a bonus for me because my only intention here is to gain knowledge and to share knowledge, it finds me happiness whenever I give help to someone, appreciations makes me good.

It's true that bitcoin is online gold, we have here in this virtual world, the gold thing is that we can use it for some online transactions which are faster compared to the manual things. What I really like about bitcoin is its volatility because it makes me earn money through investing and trading, both things are risky so if you are a beginner you shouldn't try it.

Dude the links are already given by the other members in the previous posts, just read them one at a time and you're good to go Cheesy. If you find it confusing where you need to start them you can use Google. Try searching "What is bitcoin?" because that's most fundamental thing you need to know. If you are still not comfortable with it, visit CryptoDetail. Good luck for both of your journey guys. Welcome to the forum Smiley.

In every investment there should always be a proper due diligence before diving into it. So in bitcoin we don't just buy and hold, or we don't just trade without proper knowledge about it or you end up broke. Cryptocurrency is not focused on bitcoin alone, there's thousands of different coins in the market to choose from.

Hello Chris.

I would like to add that whenever someone says "Hey Chris, invest your bitcoins in this investment scheme and you will earn xx% profit per day/per hour" don't listen to them but do your research.

Ask the community or think of it if the return is viable and valid. Because the scammers that are attracting newbies to invest into an investment scam are targeting people like you.

You can hold bitcoin as is, it is already an investment and you have to keep it only to your chosen wallet and better if it's not an exchange wallet you'll keep it.

Well it is natural that you start as a newbie in whatever you are interested. I don't have to tell you much and all I want to share is you should focus on learning first which many people in this forum did. If you have other skills that might be useful in crypto industry then why not put it to use.

First of all you have come to the right forum and a best forum in order to increase your knowledge about crypto and bitcoins. Secondly, note that bitcoin is a currency which is used in online transactions and in few physical shops/store also. Just try to learn about it and be careful not to get scammed as there are people who try to scam the new people by giving them interesting investments plans which later turn out to be scam.

First off, you can start by learning a few basic things about bitcoin through this links
- Bitcoin whitepaper - https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf
The Bitcoin whitepaper is not a basic aspect of Bitcoin, and I will only recommend it to newbies as a reference to understand the purpose of Bitcoin and it's origin, but it contains so many technical stuffs that would be difficult to understand.
The Bitcoin whitepaper is just 9 pages, of which the 9th page is only about references. While you claim that it's not the basic aspect of bitcoin, i would like to disagree with you here.
The whitepaper is easy to understand and once you have read through, you will at-least know how bitcoin works from transactions, Proof of work to privacy and a few other things.

The only part that i would presume hard for a newbie who hates mathematics would be that last bit of calculations as the WP concludes but that's no big deal if someone is determined to learn something.

Don't discourage the newbies from reading the whitepaper. It's part of the origin of Bitcoin.

Oops! I just want to clarify that the link is not mine. The original source of that link is from [1] https://veriphi.io/en -- that website is a good resource for beginner who are looking for some in depth knowledge regarding bitcoin from various fields such as basic terminologies, wallet, legalities, blockchain etc..

The wallet comparison is from their blog called Extensive Bitcoin Software Wallets Feature Comparison. You might as well consider reading their blog contents here
