I'm happy to say that I am no longer in the newbie rank. I can remember being ashamed of the newbie rank glaring on my profile. I soon got used to it and then ignored it and focused on growing my knowledge on btc and crypto in general. I can say I've learnt a whole lot with loads more to learn. Learning is a continuous process and I look forward to growing in continuous knowledge and information sharing here in the forum.

U don’t really have to be afraid of being a newbie at all, everybody was once a newbie, but it also a good thing that u didn’t lose your focus and went on to learn about crypto currency. And you being a junior member doesn’t mean you are there yet, don’t lose focus.

Thats totally normal to be a newbie and even I myself can considered it still always a newbie. Everyone doesnt know everything in the crypto space and somehow they still in the learning process themselves.

There is no shamed having a rank od newbie dude. Some newbies are even worth praising since they got a lot of acquired knowledge inspite of their rank.

Saying you are ashamed as a "Newbie" is just like a lady saying she is ashamed of being a female, because it's actually who you are, and its always good not to worry over what its beyond your power

I don’t see them as the same in any way...how do you compare gender bias to a virtual rank?
I can understand the OP sentiment regarding his former newbie rank because it is the lowest rank in the forum, and people like to competitive and get high scores. Besides that, not everyone who is a newbie on Bitcointalk is a newbie to crypto. Congratulations OP

Yeah. A better analogy might be: Being a newbie on a forum is like being a child in real life. We've all gone through that in our forum lives, some growing up more quickly, some more slowly, but even the old legends have been Newbies at some point. There is nothing to be ashamed about that.

Everyone needs growth and Its gladens the heart when one is growing in any environment that requires growth.
This can be achieved by determination, continues hard work and staying focused on whatever thing you're doing.
The experience of being a newbie lead me to ask myself how and when I'm gonna get to legendary member,
but I realized that consistent learning and hard work will definitely bring about growth in the end.

I can't blame you if you feel ashamed of newbie rank. Ranks and reputation are the currency of the forum.
You're right about those two items being the currency of this forum but I dare say again that it was too quick for OP to start feeling ashamed. I say this so as to disabuse the minds of newbies from getting unnecessarily irritated if the merits aren't coming. That way, newbies won't pressure themselves into opening threads and spamming there or plagiarising intellectual materials in the bid of seeking merits.

You should also continue in this manner OP, that is ignore your current rank, focus more on learning and becoming a gainful contribution to forum. Some users get discouraged along the way before they are able to become very valuable  contributions here, i personally will not like that for you having celebrated this milestone stop your activities here or feel too comfortable, there are better days ahead. More Milestones to celebrate, congratulations OP.

I can't blame you if you feel ashamed of newbie rank. Ranks and reputation are the currency of the forum. This makes newbies desperate to increase their rank, desperation can lead newbies making mistakes to get merits to increase their rank. Learn to enjoy your state par time par time, once you pass this rank it's gone forever.

Congratulations Nerdy doctor!
You have followed the right path by choosing to learn, as he who stops learning is old.
I use to be timid even to write, I had series of questions up in my head but having a timid personality played also in my writing, I felt at times I'll be bashed. Well I just try be myself more after sometime, I did develop the mind to write.
I'm currently chasing how to be very good in the Technical board, I have spent my last few weeks reading and taking things down.
You should set goal henceforth and chase em, good luck once more ahead!

Therefore, you are doing the right thing by not paying attention to ranks. Focus more on the posts you make, and soon we'll be waiting for you in the rank celebration thread, where you can share your joy with everyone. Smiley

How can that be? Your account is barely a month old and you're already feeling ashamed and thinking you've stayed longer at that level? There are many accounts which aren't even senior members though they've been registered long before I joined in 2017. Listen, you better snap out of that inferiority complex mentality if you want to succeed here. Grow a thick skin in addition to that. Otherwise you're going to be hurt badly with tirade of supposedly unpleasant comments.

Learning is a continuous process and I look forward to growing in continuous knowledge and information sharing here in the forum.
I believe that to be true that learning is a continuous process. You're guaranteed of that learning process once you're sincere that's what you want here. We've several knowledgeable users who are technically sound and who are ready to teach others.

nothing really shameful about being a newbie all of us here started as a newbie, as long as you have your goal and are adamant about learning your rank will not matter to you, though the features you'll get when you reach higher ranks are quite nice.

Saying you are ashamed as a "Newbie" is just like a lady saying she is ashamed of being a female, because it's actually who you are, and its always good not to worry over what its beyond your power, as everyone here was ones a newbie, as a higher rank comes with it's own experience
forum rank and gender are completely two different topics and is an extremely bad example to use.

I not being so ecstatic about being a newbie isn't in any way comparable and I know everyone was once a newbie; I'm not stupid lol.
I had pretty much overlooked and forgotten about my newbie rank but an increase in rank obviously can't be overlooked.

I can say more, mate. You are no longer a rookie, and now you have accumulated enough merit to equal the rank of a member. And this is also a great achievement. Since there are newbies on the forum who, during their five-year stay on the forum, have not been able to receive more than one merit.

Therefore, you are doing the right thing by not paying attention to ranks. Focus more on the posts you make, and soon we'll be waiting for you in the rank celebration thread, where you can share your joy with everyone. Smiley

This is exactly the same advice I give to newbies who are trying so much to rank up, the moment you move on and try becoming your real self you will do the impossible, be yourself and keep growing, there is nothing to be ashamed of.

Fun fact: When I was at the senior to hero rank, I was kinda pushing a lot more effort specifically in trying to rank up (because I'm kinda competitive and all that). While I was successful with that goal, the funny thing is that I've been racking up a lot more merits by not trying to hard to please people and just focus a lot more on reading stuff.

You have a good starting point but it's still a long way to get to a higher level, just continue what you are doing and the most important is learning and sharing what you've learned, this is what makes Bitcointalk a great forum, it has everything and every new milestone and new concept are born here, it's hard to be in Cryptocurrency and you are not part of this forum.

Why been ashamed on newbie rank placed on your account? Everybody came from newbie before all of us rank up and we all do huge efforts to rank up so be proud on where you came because it will give you motivation to achieve more goals. Also you can pay small fee to get copper membership since this is also quite cool and you will get a custom title on your account.
