Does anyone know of another reliable HTTPS proxy that would work? I'd prefer that the forum not do this itself, as we'd then need to worry about abuse, legal issues, etc.

If you or anyone wants a image proxy script that doesn't break the gifs and proxies them as well, you can contact me.

I wrote it in an hour so it could use a few more optimizations but it works for the most part.

Thanks theymos, you rock.

Please implement also HSTS to improve https:
Quote
Please enable HSTS to avoid sslstrip or a MITM replacing the http page.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_Strict_Transport_Security

With PHP check if the page is been served in HTTP, if so redirect to HTTPS.
In HTTPS set the HSTS header:
Code:
header("strict-transport-security: max-age=31536000");
(Example implementation in PHP).

That tells the browser to only use the HTTPS versión of bitcointalk.org for a year (31536000 seconds).
So, my browser will go directly to https even if I have no internet conection.

Thanks.

I guess that'll be a problem for those "price-converters" showing the actual bitcoin-price for something that's pegged to USD or EUR.
Also, for Auction-end-Gifs.

Indeed, https://images.weserv.nl/?url=btcticker.appspot.com/mtgox/60usd.png&fnr does not match btcticker.appspot.com/mtgox/60usd.png as of right now.
Here's a clock image from my website:

My "preview" of this post set the cache to 23:06:07. Different locations may go through different cache servers.

Solution would be offering theses two services on the forum itself, should be a quick hack.

I am working on a solution for animated gifs and continuous gifs will either talk to theymos about hosting it or something.

To improve privacy and eliminate mixed content warnings, images in posts and PMs are now proxied through images.weserv.nl. Tell me if this broke anything.
