Meditation makes the person transcend and enter mental states, where he sees the world as a small dimension where the physical is seen as something banal, one learns to elevate the spirit and find solutions instantaneously, it is like a quantum I, and It helps a lot to the concentration of the person and above all to give tranquility.

Meditation sounds like complete new-age hokum to me. How is it any different from just "relaxing" or taking a break. I think people who try sell you such meditation practices like transcendental meditation (which cost a lot to do) are just snake oil salesmen trying to make money from desperate people.

Well, not for everyone. It is hard for me to stay focus when I try to do meditation.
Meditation is not as easy as other people says. It takes time and practice to fully relax your mind but it is worth the shot. One time when I got frustrated in online gambling, my friend recommended to me that I should try meditation. So every weekend, when I got a free time, I practice meditation to free myself from stress. It is also helps if you drink tea or any other comfort food for the production of dopamine.

Hi guys,

Today I tried an app on my phone called : Insight Timer
which has a huge number of different meditation types, created and uploaded by a number of different instructors. I enjoyed using it. and I recommend it who would like to use guided meditations.

So, one problem/question I always have with meditation... I read all those great posts describing how meditation made them better and happier people. That's exactly what I am hoping to get from meditation, becoming a better person and in general being happier with my life.

But in so many posts there's someone saying that you can't reach those goals when they are why you're mediating.. I'm not really getting that.. Isn't that the motivation why people meditate? For the benefits?
