^^ Atm it's dick measuring contest and seeing PCB Chief and former cricketer's statement here and there but not much statements from the BCCI, except the usual official announcement.

Guess, it'll go on for a couple more weeks and followed by breaking news, out of nowhere.

That is the beauty of BCCI: They hardly speak; they only dictate, which they have done by informing the ICC. The PCB chairman, on the other hand, has been in front of the media on more than one occasion. That clearly shows how afraid they are because the ICC will bow down to BCCI's request.

Did you hear what Sunil Gavaskar said about Rohit Sharma? I don't understand what is wrong with him. He said Rohit Sharma should leave his captaincy if he is unable to play the first test match due to his wife's delivery. The man doesn't understand work-life balance.

I am counting on both scenarios and want to see it through because it would be fun.

Mind you, these are extreme cases and have serious repercussions. Pissed off broadcasters (SL replacing India) and financial penalties for PCB from the ICC (if they boycott), props to PCB if they go down that road.

I have been doing some research around this issue. What I found out is PCB is again let itself into a crisis created by themselves.

If they as in PCB don't agree with what BCCI is asking they will lose a lot of money. They cannot afford to go against ICC as they thought after this issue: Pakistan Drops PoK Regions From ICC Champions Trophy Tour After BCCI Flak.

As per my understanding what PCB was trying to do was made redundant and now their is a big chance PCB agreeing with what BCCI requested earlier. Which means they will again take a U turn.

They have stated that if India does not come to Pakistan, they will either replace India with Sri Lanka or boycott hosting if the ICC does not agree to substitute India for Sri Lanka.

IDK about South Africa but the ball is on PCB's court. If they have backbone then they must take a bold step, otherwise fall in line. Baki sab time waste karne ke chochle hai.

Security concerns are there but the political power game is very much in play and for good reasons so I won't blame any parties be it BCCI or PCB.

By December, Jay Shah is set to become the chief of the ICC. The PCB is dissatisfied with the BCCI for repeatedly requesting the hybrid model. They have stated that if India does not come to Pakistan, they will either replace India with Sri Lanka or boycott hosting if the ICC does not agree to substitute India for Sri Lanka.

I believe that the CT25 will become the biggest mess in the history of ICC tournaments. The PCB's attempt to demonstrate that they are more important than the BCCI could backfire on them. The Afghanistan board and team have already supported the BCCI's claim that Pakistan poses a security threat. We may soon hear either that the PCB agrees to a hybrid model for India or that the venue will be changed to South Africa.

What happening with CT25? I read somewhere that it can get shifted to South Africa if PCB keeps on asking India to play in Pakistan. Is that true?

Watched KL Rahul dismissal! What the fuck he was doing man.
A few years back, when Sanjay Bangar was the Indian batting coach, he said this about KL " He always finds new ways to get out". That is still true for KL, no matter the conditions, pitch or opposition bowler.

Retirement will come anyway but in recent times i have to say Rohit's PR is the strongest IMO. The dude faced the first whitewashed in Indian test history (3 or more test match series) but no questions were raised.

KL Rahul has the ability to destroy his career, he is part of the team because of big baking by his father in law. If he continues to bat in the same manner he will be replaced.

Rohit's PR has been handled by his wife who was earlier the PR of Yuvraj Singh. The fact is how much worst has happened in Rohit's career after he became the Captain, the PR team has always ensured that he doesn't get any negative vibes from the public.

Edit

One good news is Shami is playing Ranji and if he's recovered completely then we could see him in Australia.

Jeez! India A batters look cooked in just 2 matches. Virtually no positive whatsoever.

Having said that, I think Aussie will not serve such juicy pitches down under, at least for 2 matches.

Watched KL Rahul dismissal! What the fuck he was doing man. This guy is going to be out of the team if he continues to fail like he has been doing. Too much glamour has gone to his head and this series is his last path to get back into the main team.

^^
About the team and players you discussed, I feel Rohit and Virat will declare their retirement if the upcoming BGT doesn't work for them. I am still not able to comprehend what has suddenly gone wrong with these two. I guess the PR team were successful in portraying that they should have not been left out.

Speaking of the Australia tour... Let's dig deep.

-Rohit will surely miss the first test and might be doubtful for the 2nd one. His replacement candidates Easwaran and Ruturaj are playing against Australia A and in the last 3 outings, both failed miserably  (a total of 28 runs scored between them). KL Rahul is added to the squad and playing against the same opposition as an opener but failed today.

- First outing for Jaiswal so fingers crossed.

- Gill did wonder in the last tour so i am hopeful for him but last time he was an opener and not number 3, it matters.

- Kohli is cooked and bhagwan bharose.

- Pant is solid

- Number 6 is not a permanent and open slot atm because it's the first outing for Sarfraz. Paddikal or Sai Sudersan might get a chance as they did score some runs against Aus A. They also added Jurel in Ind A, who was the highest scorer today.

In bowling..

- For number 7, NKR should get in as a seam all rounder.
- Toss up between Jaddu, Ash and Washi for a sole spin-bat all-rounder at number 8. Washi's stocks are way up atm because he outbowled Ashwin and outbatted Jaddu in a recent series.
- Akashdeep showed promise but he's new
- Bumrah
- Toss up between Siraj-Krishna and Mukesh

Retirement ki baatien start ho gayi ish home thrashing ke baad.

Likes of Virat, Rohit, Jadeja and Ashwin need a successful BGT campaign. Warna tata bye-bye hone wala hai jaldi.

Whenever India plays bad the senior players are blamed that is why these retirement rumours are being spread. We lost the home series because of the agressive batting approach by the Indian in test cricket. It went well against Bangladesh but went bad against the NZ. I am hopeful about Indian team playing better cricket in BGT as the pitch in Australia are very different than in India. It will be a fast bowlers paradise and not spinners the batters will need to give support to the bowlers. As of now the opening pair and the middle order were struggling against the spin attack. But I don't think they will have the same problem in Australia.

NZ spins isn't deadly to be honest only our batting performance has became pathetic. Seriously we miss someone like Pujara in the middle order which might gave them some stabilization but currently all the batters are stroke maker which isn't the perfect fit for test match to play for 5 days.

Selectors really need to groom someone who can replace Pujara or else our test team will be more pathetic in SENA conditions.

There are some good contenders from domestic level, but who can be good one to fit Pujara?

India was once a team that was known to have batters who were excellent against spin bowling. I guess we are not finding talents that are good with spin bowling as the selectors are looking for stroke players who can play in all three formats. About Pujara, I doubt he will get another call from BCCI. I was expecting him to be part of the team that was going to play in the BGT but he isn't. That shows BCCI is no more in a mood to select him but look for new talent to replace him.

The top order has been failing to give a good start and the middle order is unpredictable as of now. Newzealand spin bowling has been destructive and for the first time I feel Indian top batters are struggling against them.

^^ Timezone is a bit ungodly to watch but that's how things roll in Australia.

Selectors will keep an eye on Sudarshan. So far in this test, Easwaran and Rutu both failed, and both are contenders for a backup opener, mainly Easwaran (I guess Rohit is missing the first BGT test, comms were talking about him in the Ind vs. NZ match).

snip..

The Indian team was known to have batters who were the best batters of the spin ball once upon a time. This team lacks those batters, and everyone is trying to bat aggressively, causing more issues. Above all, Rohit Sharma is out of form and if you look back he has been struggling to bat after the T20WC. Virat has been going through the same problem as Rohit Sharma and after such a performance by Indian batters in the series against NZ I am confident that Pujara will be part of the team going for BGT. None of our bowlers succeeded in the first innings except the spinners, especially Washington Sunder. In this innings again he has taken 3 wickets and somehow I feel he will be retaking more wickets.

Another milestone by Pujara, he got his 18th first class double century. He is not letting the selectors think that he is useless against the upcoming BGT. I hope he gets into the squad this time. He scored against Chattisgarh 234 in 383 ball with 25 fours and a six.
Ben choo jaise hamare batsmen khel rahe hai newzealand se. Ab toh sach mein lag raha hai Pujara ko hona chahiye BGT ke liye. Warna L*de lagne wale hai humare aur WTC finals khelne ka sapna bhul hi jao. Par who bhi thik hi hai, agar qualify hi nahi karenge toh final mein harne ka dhuk bhi nahi hoga.  Tongue

Gauti aur Vadpav doing wonders. Pehle SL se ODI series hare 20-25 saal mein aur ab home streak ka record bhi tutne ke chance lag rahe hai.
