Finally, it's been announced that the two will once again face each other. I think this is already official. Even Inoue has already confirmed the fight and the fight details on social media. The date is set on June 7, 2022 and the venue will be in Saitama, Japan.

I am once again excited because I know the two will give us an explosive fight. The last time they met, in 2019, the two made a fight of the year.  I am looking forward to the same level of energy in this rematch.

After long speculation, finally, it will happen.

This fight is going to be one of the best fights this year, and the best in the bantam weight division.
Hopefully, Casimero would win against Butler, so he can have a chance to fight the winner of this bout.

Since Innoue once defeated Donaire , I guess its easy to say he can do it again. The monster really proved himself to be the tough one, he nearly crushed the ribs of Donaire in the previous fight.  It encourages a fighter when he sees the people around the ring cheers for him, it might be a long shot for Donaire for this will be held in Japan.

Donaire is injured in that match but the same happened to Naoya Inoue. They both need treatment after their fight. I like how they fight, not boring, no running and everything. They changed punches every time and just let their strength and stamina test their body. They did not follow their strategy but instead, they turned into a man-to-man battle that whoever will down first, that's the end.

We want to see that kind of fighting level for the second time and the fans will surely love the close fight action. Experience, toughness, perseverance is what Donaire still has even he is now aging. I hope no pre-match analysis here that will say age is a factor. That user may be missed what Donaire went through.

But is this match really going to happen?

AFAIK, there's no match yet for Inoue and it's going to be depending on his promoter and as well as his choice. Is Donaire going to bring that great match again for him?

The thread was re-opened because it's now official bro. It was on the headline. The fight is going to happen at 100% and the date is June 7. The venue is the same where they fought for the 1st time in the finals of the World Boxing Super Series in Saitama Arena.

I'm seeing a much improved Naoya Inoue here. He won't allow repeating what happened in their first fight where he was badly injured for the first time in his career and was sent to the hospital right away after the fight. I'm sure Donaire was already anticipating that he will face a much improved Japanese monster on their second meetup.

Donaire is known for being a counter-puncher. He will surely improve and enhanced it and his 2 previosly winning fights is the best training he did in preparation for this fight. It's a good achievement and recognition if he will beat Inoue this time.

If ever there would be some rematch between Donaire and Inoue then Nonito should really be doing something better compared into their last fight. He should mind on about his defense while not affecting his aggressive stance because in most times on where Inoue do really make out heavy body shots unpredictably.I dont have any doubts for his stamina since he could last up to the entire round.

Isn't it obvious that Nonito Donaire should be making some adjustments? He already knows that as he is preparing it for a long. He anticipates that a rematch will probably happen and he has already met the requirements for it by defeating two boxers since he was defeated by Inoue.

But while Donaire is expected to do some adjustments, there's no way Naoya Inoue won't do the same. He should be preparing now and thinking of a strategy not to be pulverized in the early rounds against Donaire like what happened in the 1st match.

We will now see them again in a rematch as that was a long wait.

Sorry for active response made into this thread for second time.

So it was indeed official for this fight to happen and not that Casimero vs we are all hoping for.
https://www.badlefthook.com/2022/3/30/23002748/naoya-inoue-vs-nonito-donaire-rematch-set-june-7-japan-boxing-news-2022

So this one set on June 7 so it was 2 months left for this fight to happen which is exciting.

At last, it's now official that Inoue and Donaire will meet again for the second time. They need this second chapter as their first match is truly intense and bloody.

If Inoue will won the fight, that settles everything. If Donaire on the other hand will upset the monster, there's a sure trilogy. Donaire even at 30 years of age has the Knock Out power and seems not to slow down.

Can't wait for these two to meet on the ring.

Finally, this is coming to reality because there were a lot of discussions here about this fight.
In terms of odds, I believe, Inoue will be slightly favored here by the sportsbooks.
It may not be that wide, because Donaire won his last fight with Oubaali.
Hopefully, they will settle what's left with their unfinished business.
Donaire is heading to its retirement, so who knows, it may be his last fight?

A lot of factors have to be considered by their promoters. But if the fans are going to speak, we all want to see this rematch. Maybe after or before Inoue-Casimero.

There was also a news before that it's Donaire-Casimero but it didn't happened.

We have to understand how the promoter would work, an Inoue vs Donaire rematch would generate more money compared to the Inoue vs Casimero fight. In addition, fighting Casimero is very risky on Inoue's camp, so they would choose an easier fight that would generate them more money at the same time.
Donaire is more popular in terms of international viewers, very understandable that promoters will choose the money. Both camps want this

fight to take place after Donaire wins another belt. Instead of taking Casimero, Arum seen that Donaire can attract more international viewers. PPV is one

of the biggest profits when fight take place. It's very likely that Inoue's camp wants to grab more cash than pride here  Wink

IMHO, it's not that Arum wants Donaire to fight his guy, it's just that Casimero is in another fight while Donaire's schedule is open and he also got the WBC belt so this fight is a three belt unification thus making this more interesting that the rematch itself.

This fight will have the money and pride at stake for Inoue while I'm thinking that this could be a retirement fight for Donaire, he still got that puncher's luck in him because we all knew how lethal that left hook of his once it will land on Inoue's chin.

Thank's Sanitough for opening this thread again.

some points or hits plus have been knocked down but seeing on Inoue's face then he had also been pushed into his limits which it do needs a bit more push for Donaire.

We couldn't tell but this would be most likely the case on which they would really be seeing that the interest circling around on Donaire would really be much more appealing compared to Casimero but since this is a rematch then majority would really be that interested.

But honestly it would really be much more better if Casimero would take the spot but of course everything would really be depending on the organization or promoter on how to set up fights
according into their own preference and of course boxers wont really be having no choice.

Most probably Inoue will win the fight, however, looking at the previous fight of Donaire, we can also say that he is back and could do the same knockout to Inoue if Inoue will not be careful. Donaire still has good timing in boxing, his counter punch is solid and could put an opponent on the canvas, so seeing a knockdown from Donaire is already enough for me.

If Inoue will take the fight lightly and forget about Donaire's KO punching capabilities.

The last fight between them was dominated by Inoue in the last few rounds, but there are some solid conversions from
Donaire, it's just so happen that Inoue have solid chin and just ignores those solid punches.

We don't know if that will be the same case once this fight happen, Donaire is back, and he won his last fight with solid
strategy, if he can adjust and enhance it more, his winning chance is still possible.

Three world titles will be on the line in this much-anticipated rematch.

Naoya Inoue and Nonito Donaire are finally set to meet in a rematch later this year.

Scheduled for June 7th at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, Inoue's WBA and IBF bantamweight titles, and Donaire's WBC belt will be up for grabs in this unification fight.

For seeing this news looks like Inoue's camp give less priority on the fight between their fighter vs Casimero and also those curremt issues what the filipimo fighter get him a less chance for making this fight to happen. But anyways still this is a good match knowing that Donaire is really seekimg for his revenge and want to take the head of the japanese monster.

Finally, another great match to watch for this year.

We have been speculating about an Inoue vs Casimero fight but look what they gave us, it's a big fight as both champions are very popular in the boxing world. Donaire here can take his revenge, hopefully he will get this one so we will see a trilogy.
