If you want to advertise or make a hit on the internet a web page is better to try on because it much more convenient for people's to visit and you could possibly make an personal message through social media for your web page to be know more. I guess the main problem is the personal data or the main goal of your chosen business,before you start on making such web based business you will need to know what people's want for you to know on how you see going to manage it well.

I agree popup need to go away. They annoy users, make websites look like trash and degrade the websites reputation. Most clicks on popup are accidents so people get directed away from the site to some spammy trash.

They are also almost always not profitable. The ROI on popups is so small.. usually less then 1000-1 That means if you are paying .25 a click you will spend $250 to get 1 legit sale.

Pop-up windows are used by inept newcomers. This is very aggressive advertising. Now the network business is changing and acting more gently on the target audience. We all hate popups and they are really annoying. And I really hate if you visit sites that has popup and yes I wouldn't visit it again as well. I don't used popups to advertise or promote projects. I would rather used social media to promote it. Or just posting on forums or blogs. A lot of ways to really market your project and popup is not the best one for me.

Pop ups are really not a good idea for advertising because it is very annoying, sometimes they make a lot of way just to put their advertisement in you computer, sometimes even if you do not install some apps, it will appear in you computer, i caller it viruses, because sometimes its hard for me to uninstall it, sometimes I uninstall but it will appear again. So it is very annoying, I also choose to post in social media than to make popups, i don't want to get disapponted.

Blog is also another good strategy to target your audience. But then again, you need to established authority in your subject matter and you need to write good articles, hundreds or even thousands to be able to get a lot of audience. And once you are already established then it would be very easy for you to get customers through affiliate link in your blog.

I have been helping people with their internet marketing for about 15 years. A couple of things I have noticed.

- The more competitive the field is the more work and harder it will be. Ranking in competitive fields=money. You do not take over flows of money by tossing some SEO guy $99. It is just not that easy.

- Internet marketing starts before you build your site. You domain, keywords, layout structure all need to be built around your marketing intentions and goals. A lot of people toss up a site then contact a marking person and say "I need to rank" Rank in what..? or "I need traffic" Traffic from where ?
