Hello.
I want to interview you. I hope for your consent.
...

thank you very much for choosing me today - i feel honored and will of course publish my answers here...

1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?

it was in spring 2011 when i heard about BTC for the first time. a group-member (i was very active in the mp3-scene at that time) approached me and asked me if i wanted to invest in something that would bring very high and most likely solid profits in the long run. of course i said yes, informed myself and since then BTC won't let me go and i can't do without Bitcoin/Crypto.

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?

my first investment was not long in coming and i bought my first BTC coins for a few thousand dollars on the mt.gox exchange at a price of ~13,00 USD. after about 2 years i was able to get my investment back and still had enough BTC on the exchange. what happened with mt.gox, i think i don't have to write that anymore...

3. How did you get on the forum?

the forum was recommended to me by the same guy who told me about BTC for the first time - unfortunately the contact is broken and I don't know the username.
next year i will have my 10th anniversary in the forum, and i will think of something nice for all of you

4.1. What prevents mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?

in my opinion, there are 2 important points, which delay or prevent the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies.
first of all, these are the individual states and also the banks, which would do everything to push their dear fiat money further and to shoot against cryptocurrencies.
and on the other side these are the media, which, if they write or report about Bitcoin, bring that in 90% into a bad & negative light/picture, which then also deter the whole humans naturally

4.2. How do you think mass advertising of gambling projects has a positive effect on the development of the forum or harms the community?

here i am also split in two. on the other hand i think gambling is very dangerous and on the other hand you can also earn some BTC here in the forum through the whole signature campaigns of the respective gambling projects and for some of them it might be the first possibility to have some satoshis on their own wallet for the first time. personally i don't think all these projects are harmful to the forum - they also support the cryptocurrencies

4.3. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to successfully invest or does an investor need to receive special education?

you learn the whole life and i think that the experience here and with all the tradings is the most important thing. what helps me and i think also many others, are also some very good threads and posts from various users here from the forum

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?

i think these two things are very successful and i take advantage of this myself. for years i have always tried to participate in a good signature campaign and always reward the user with merits for good threads/posts. the many signatures also bring a very lively and colorful forum-life

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?

there are many interesting topics here. for me it is always important that i can get detailed information about a project here - so threads that inform about a new/existing project are very important. and also the topics about the unfortunately very many scammers are very helpful for all users here in the forum!
concerning the helpful users, i could name some of them, like Hhampuz, LoyceV, minerjones, DarkStar_, yogg, vizique, anonymousminer, jayce, TryNinja to name a few from the international boards - thanks guys for your support!!!

7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?

  • i would be happy about a cold-wallet made especially for bitcointalk.org, which you could also buy
  • a 2fa option for each user-account to make the accounts even more secure
  • i can't think of a third point now - just keep up the good work

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?

i trade on stock exchanges and have also invested in some projects. but i only trade and invest as much as i can bear to lose.

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?

my biggest win was in 2011 when i bought hundreds of Bitcoins for about 13.00 USD each. since then i could afford a lot of great things

10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?

for me there are a lot of parallels like in the times when an ico was announced from every corner - if you don't pay attention, you can get into very difficult financial problems

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?

a little bit of both - in my private area only a few people know that i am invested in BTC. and my username from the forum is not known by anyone in that area

12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?

"Bitcoin - the crazy story of the rise of a new money" by Christoph Bergmann.
a very interesting book which is also very well written. there is a lot of information about every topic/term and I was really happy that some quotes from the forum were published in this book

13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years?

  • Tezos - XTZ
  • IOTA
  • Bitcoin - BTC

14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2020?

i hope that we will be in the region of 15000 USD/BTC

15. P.S. (Optional)

stay healthy in the very busy/hard pandemic time and protect your fellow humans.
big thanks flying to zasad@ for the great interview also

1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?

I become interested in cryptocurrencies way back before in 2018 when I see bitcoin being involved in news and documentaries.

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?

I bought my first bitcoin in 2018 in a local convenience store. My purchase was successful but my first transaction failed because of not knowing how to send bitcoin to the right address.

3. How did you get on the forum?

With my curiosity about bitcoin, this forum is the very first search result when I am asking google about my questions. As time passes by, I am directly going in here instead of asking google about bitcoin, and eventually, I made an account. Sadly, my very first days here were quite toxic as I prioritize abusing signature campaigns rather than learning and sharing. I realized to change that and become professional exactly on the day of bitcointalk's 10th anniversary.

4.1. What prevents the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?

It is the people's strict mindset to adopt new technology that prevents mass crypto adoption.

4.2. How do you think mass advertising of gambling projects has a positive effect on the development of the forum or harms the community?

If you are pertaining to signature campaigns, most of the members here for me, already knew that it was because of the campaign that's why they often see advertisements on gambling. There's nothing really bothering there to adopt new knowledge while seeing these. Perhaps, these advertisements also help to keep members to be active.

4.3. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to successfully invest or does an investor need to receive special education?

It's basically not with how long we been on crypto to learn. There are people who are learning faster because they are focused on what they are doing. There are also those who prioritize income rather than learning that makes them learn quite slower.

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?

The Merit system is the best system implemented that busts all the harm that signature campaigns could do to the forum.

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?

This is a topic created by Lauda, the very topic I intentionally opened when I became curious about the forum itself.

Newbies - Read before posting

7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?

If I would have a chance to implement on the forum, I would consider these:
  • Topic Book Mark for us to go back easily to the topics we love reading
  • New website design made from the latest javascript frameworks
  • Collection of API from statistics so developers could help create easier helpful apps

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?

Yes, I prefer to trade on a decentralized exchange with high risk, high reward since I am also studying the project and spending more time to lessen my risk of losing my investment.

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?

Recently, I invested in some Defi Projects, the one, in particular, is SAFE2, I invested quite a big amount of ETH but it turns out that the project was affected by outside factors of FUD. I lost a lot but still thankful for my decision that I saved half of the funds I invested and cut bigger possible losses.

10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?

It is actually beneficial, especially the lending platforms which incentivize the users and helped those who are in need. But the problem there is that, most people didn't see it's value but a pump and dump crypto mainly created for profit.

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?

I consider it both necessity and precaution. In crypto world, we don't know each and every person we are transacting with. and for me, the reason why we need to expose ourselves is to gain trust. But if blockchain already serves as the ultimate trust, there's no reason for us to be known.

12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?

Honestly, I am not reading any cryptocurrency book.

13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years?

  • Bitcoin
  • ETH
  • LTC

14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2020?

I believe it could be on the price range of 11k - 12k USD

15. P.S. (Optional)

I had fun answering this OP, I just bring back memories I had with cryptocurrency.

Thanks for inviting me @zasad@. It was a nice surprise to receive your message.

1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?
I am not really interested in cryptocurrencies: I am interested in bitcoin Smiley
I discovered about bitcoin when I was reading an article about online privacy around the web. I had just created a protonmail account and I saw an article from protonmail about bitcoin.
It was 2017 and we were in a crazy bull run.

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?
The article I mentioned said "$100 in bitcoins purchased five years ago would today be worth millions.".
By the time I was very frustrated in  my job and I thought "Well, I will invest 100 USD then and see where it goes". I bought my first satoshis in the next few hours.

3. How did you get on the forum?
I discovered this forum when I started having technical problems. The first post I really created was related to a problem on how to sign a message.

Then I took a good look around and found so much knowledge here. I was wasting my time on Reddit.

4.1. What prevents mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?
We are getting there. These things takes time. 10 years is not too much, and we (bitcoin community) already made a lot in those 10 years.
I believe that as we have better and easier to use softwares (especially wallets and payment gateways such as a decent btcpay), we will get a good adoption.

I don't think volatility is a problem. I live in a country where our fiat currency is just as volatile as bitcoin.
One thing is not helping : All those altcoins and scams around. Too many scams in all ecosystem: wallets, exchanges, phising, bch, ICO.... too many scammers everywhere. That is sad.

4.2. How do you think mass advertising of gambling projects has a positive effect on the development of the forum or harms the community?
I think that the advertisement of any cryptocurrency related project is good for the forum.

4.3. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to successfully invest or does an investor need to receive special education?
I have seen Legendary users (~3 years experience) here who doesn't even know what is a private key.
Time means nothing here.
Anyone can read Mastering Bitcoin in just a few days. That is the time you need to successfully invest in bitcoin and be able to understand what a cryptocurrency or bitcoin can do and cannot.

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?
I think that signature campaigns are good for the forum. (only the ones that pays in btc)
Any newbie that comes around here asking ANY questions get dozens of answers in just a few minutes. The community is nearly competing to answer first.
This forum is wonderful and it does work very well.

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?
I don't think we have a most useful forum topic. But probably WO, there is so much information in it.

7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?
Merit and quote notifications. New rank.

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?
I don't trade and I don't invest in projects anymore. I just hold my coins.

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?
I invested in many ICOs in the past. I made huge returns in 2 of them. I also lost 99,99% of it in about 5 icos. Scams.
I decided not to invest in other projects anymore. I still have some altcoins, but I have more than 85% bitcoin in my portfolio now.

10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?
a big bubble ready to pop out.

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?
Neither precaution nor necessity. It is just for privacy reasons Smiley

12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?
Mastering Bitcoin.

13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years?
Bitcoin, Bitcoin and Bitcoin.

14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2020?
11500.

1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?

In late 2013 and early 2014 when Gox was happening.

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?

In 2015 when it was around $500.

3. How did you get on the forum?

I can't really remember. Probably google showed me the way.

4.1. What prevents mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?

Decentraliation is cryptocurrencies' own enemy. It is their weakness and strength at the same time. Only the smartest and most careful people are eligible to use these currencies and most people are either careless or illiterate or too old.

4.2. How do you think mass advertising of gambling projects has a positive effect on the development of the forum or harms the community?

Gambling is mathematics. If you understand mathematics, you wouldn't gamble too much. Who cares what other people do? Finance is a zero sum game. Some people's loss is other people's gain. Not everybody can be on the winning side, it is against the math. Gambling anonymously with crypto is one of the best use cases of crypto. Without these casinos, crypto wouldn't have become what it is today.

4.3. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to successfully invest or does an investor need to receive special education?

Even 1000 years won't be enough in a market where common logic doesn't work. Never invest in crypto more than you could afford to lose. I see most of  them as fun lottery tickets.

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?

Action > Reaction. Everything you do in life creates a response. Even not doing anything is actually doing something because you still exist and affecting the balance of the universe.

The current merit system is an action which reduced the forum spam, as a reaction the forum lost its traffic. I think it delayed the spam for like 1 year or so but it won't take long before the forum goes to its inital spammy stage.

Signature camps are the only reason why most people still post here. It doesn't matter which sig camp it is. If you are getting paid by posting, 99 out of 100 times it means you are here to get paid. Do they harm the community? Without them there wouldn't be a forum to write in.

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?

As far as I remember I only heavy merited 2 guys before. One of them was Royse777 and the other was webtricks. This was just my personal experience. There are obviously other good guys.  These were the most helpful to me.

7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?

Nothing, it is fine just like this.

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?

No.

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?

I don't share my personal earnings or losses.

10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?

I don't know much about it and I don't want to know about it.

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?

Depends on what you are doing.

12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?

There isn't one.

13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years?

I don't give investment advices.

14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2020?

I don't really care. I can afford to lose what I got inside. Also, see "Answer 13".

15. P.S. (Optional)

Don't invest more than you could afford to lose. Hug your girlfriend (or your cat Sad or your dog ) when you get home. Because you'll never know what's going to happen tomorrow. Don't stare too much at charts, better yet, don't do it at all.

I want to make a lot of manies.

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?

2013.

I searched 'Bitcoin forum' online.

4.1. What prevents mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?

Dunno.

4.2. How do you think mass advertising of gambling projects has a positive effect on the development of the forum or harms the community?

Positive of course!  The more degens, the better.  Cheesy

4.3. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to successfully invest or does an investor need to receive special education?

Lol.  Not sure..  Maybe?

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?

The merit system is ok cos it stops people who make 100 accounts.  Sig campaigns do increase spam but it's nothing a good manager can't fix.

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?

UFC thread.  Grin  Most helpful users:  All of the original bastards of the EPL pool.

7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?

Dunno.

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?

I used to...  A lot.  After losing a lot of manies, my sole mission now is to only lose them to the bookies.  Lol.

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?

Bought ETH at 1.00 - 1.50 USD, sold at 20.00 - 25.00 USD.  Big profit right?  Wrong.  I left a lot of money on the table.  I consider that a somewhat big profit but it's really a huuuge loss on my part.

I wish I got into it and could've made some manies.  I never thought the market could go crazy again.

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?

Both.

12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?

Nothing.  I tried reading 'The Attack of the 50 Foot Blockchain' once but I'm lazy.  And good thing I didn't cos almost all of the books about crypto are terribad.

13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years?

Just Tronz.

14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2020?

No idea.

This question is for you @zasad@ :
What methodology did you use when selecting sources for your interviews?
I use an axiomatic-deductive methodology based on methods of deduction and induction, as well as an inductivist methodology based on methods of analysis and synthesis.
If these methods do not give results, then I apply extrapolation methods and the basics of probabilistic methodology. Grin Grin

I got an email from the OP about an interview. Surprised and happy. Surprised, because I still have less contributions to this forum. However, what's the harm in trying? Smiley. Here are the answers from questions emailed by OP. My apologize in advance if there are sentences/words that are not pleasing you. Thank you. Happy reading, hope you guys not bored. Smiley

1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?
I know cryptocurrencies around June 2017. When one of my closest friends asked for my help to accompany him to local customs office, to pick up his miners. If i'm not mistaken, that miner is S9. Along the way to local custom office, he talked a lot about cryptocurrencies (bitcoin) and it prospects. What you need to remember, he is only talking about cryptocurrencies, not about the ecosystem or the technology.

This made me interested, so I asked him, about other than bitcoin, which coins have good prospects. And he said LTC and Dash are the best alternatives beside bitcoin. And right away i decided to buy a D3 and L3 + miner. I made the purchase based on mere speculation without doing any research. I placed an order in July 2017 (with his help). I received both machines in December 2017. And as you know, the decision i made at that time was the worst decision i have ever made. Grin Grin Grin

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?
I first own bitcoin in January 2018. I earned it by converting Dash and LTC to bitcoin. Exchanges i used at that time was Indodax (the largest crypto market in our country).

3. How did you get on the forum?
I know this forum through googling (Even my closest friends that i mentioned above didn't know that there was such a forum!). I got to know bitcointalk after i felt that the mining profit was not same as promised (read whattomine calculation). Mining profits are getting smaller, while production costs (electricity costs and others) remain same. So I did googling in order to find out the factors that influence crypto mining and ended in this forum. It happens around end of feb 2018. At that time, i was not rush to register, coz tbh i'm not kind of forum boys. But finally, i registered coz of one reason. If you want to ask in this forum, then you must register first.

4.1. What prevents mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?
What is preventing the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?
I think mass adoption cannot be prevented. I'm more inclined towards this question: "what are the barriers to mass adoption of cryptocurrencies".

So many factors are hindering the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies. One of them may be nation currency privileges. As you know, every country has its own currency. And this currency has its own characteristics (due to its history) that cannot be replaced by other currencies. Currency for me is one of the national identities. If the whole world has the same currency, then for me, there is no special identity that a country has. And in the end, people will tend to forget the history of their nation.

4.2. How do you think mass advertising of gambling projects has a positive effect on the development of the forum or harms the community?
There is nothing wrong with gambling. And gambling ads will not break or harmed this forum. Because of what? This forum has its own segment. Most members of this forum already know the negative effects of gambling. And the rules on this forum are very clear. Comments about gambling is allowed on this board, while on other boards it is not allowed. All rules are clearly mentioned.

4.3. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to successfully invest or does an investor need to receive special education?
Needs are always changing. Market is always changing. Market trends will also change. An investor must adapt to those changes. However, basis for investing is always same. DYOR.
Special education is only needed for people/investors who are new to crypto. Of course you still remember the @elpresedente twitter account right? @elpresedente and ChainLink token  Grin

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?
Merit system is good. It's kind the "like" feature on facebook and twitter or reddit. It shows appreciation. Imo, Which is good. About merit current system. Idk, I see nothing wrong with current merit system. Same as signature campaigns. I see nothing wrong with it. Mostly member in here are grown man/woman. And forum rules are clearly. As long forum rules obeyed, this forum is still a good forum.

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?
All sticky pinned thread are good and helpful. But most new members are lazy to read it. Always create thread and asking same questions.
Helpful members? A lots! depends on the board you choose.

7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?
Dislike button (for nonsense comments/thread), Ease of changing account names (such as a feature on Twitter that allows name changes at least every 6 months) but with the same member id. Let me think the othe one Smiley.

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?
Yes, i did trade in exchange. And did invest in some projects.

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?
Big Losses : Buying miners witth less knowledge only depends on specualtion
Big Profit : Knowledge that i get from this forum.

10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?
Why mention Defi as a special concern? Didn't defi already exist in our daily life? Banking, savings and loans are common things in our daily life. People may be amazed about Defi coz of one thing. The token price. The Defi ecosystem in crypto is not much different from the financial ecosystem in our daily lives.

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?
Anonymity for me act as a precaution. And it is vital now.

12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?
"How to Defi book". I got it free from coingecko Smiley

13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years?
For me. AlphaFinance, DOT and ETH.

14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2020?
Price prediction yeah? I'm not good with this kind of prediction. But for sure i stated that bitcoin will never touch $1K again.

15. P.S. (Optional)

Thanks zasad@ for the interview...

questions:

1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?

In 2017 I became interested in cryptocurrencies, but I did not really know anything, and I entered and played in casinos, later at the same time I learned about the forum and the projects.

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?

In 2017 when I earned some coins in a project where they had an Airdrop, I sold and bought Bitcoin.

3. How did you get on the forum?

I came to the forum through a friend who studied with me at the University.

4.1. What prevents mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?

Mass adoption is largely hampered by ignorance on the part of the people, many still do not believe in technology and in this type of alternative economy where there is no debt.

4.2. How do you think mass advertising of gambling projects has a positive effect on the development of the forum or harms the community?

I do not see the massive advertising of games as a negative effect, on the contrary, it is an opportunity for companies to take advantage of the use of the space of signatures of the best posters.

4.3. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to successfully invest or does an investor need to receive special education?

It depends, in 2 or 3 years is enough time to learn enough about investing if you read the right books. From mere experience without reading books or without having some kind of financial education there will always be some misconceptions and it will possibly lead to failure.

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?

The merit system is a good way to eliminate spam and raise the level for discussions even higher (I see the forum as an open and always up-to-date book).

I see signature campaigns as an opportunity for companies to spread their word by taking advantage of the opinions of the best posters in the forum, they would never harm the forum when there is a union of business and intelligence.

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?

Regarding the most useful topic, I would not dare to say which is the best, because the updates every day are excellent, each topic, depending on what you want to search, is very useful and from very good research sources and opinion Among the most useful and I admired users: @DdmrDdmr @fillipone @ VB1001 @seoincorporation @JayJuanGee @Hhampuz @suchmoon @DarkStar_ @LoyceV @El duderino_ @paxmao @d5000 and many more that please excuse me for not naming.

7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?

Would implement:

1.- When I started in the forum I did not understand many things, little by little I was learning, sometimes they deleted publications that I made, I would like that when deleting the publications they say the exact reason without being gerenalizing, in this way you learn more to no more falling into the same mistakes.

2.- I have seen that in some signature campaigns some companies promise airdrops where they do not comply and end up enslaving many users to obtain a miserable percentage of what was promised, it would be good if they had a permanent ban for deception and waste of time.

3.- Those projects and companies that have bans for some countries should not have cavities here, because this is a technology that everyone should have access to, the bans for countries are a matter of traditional economies and policies implemented by governments and third parties, and this it shouldn't happen.

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?

I do not trade on exchanges, nor do I invest in projects, the truth is that I like the Bitcoin market better and its volatility, and you do not have to wait long for important movements to occur as in the Stock Market.

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?

Many are sorry to say their failures but they praise their successes, I think you learn much more from failures than from successes, when I started I entered a privacy and anonymity project, I had no idea how the market was moving, I thought the Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies were always going to go up and never go down in price, they would always stay at the same level, and my mistake was not selling when the altcoin reached its ATH, then it passed the Distribution stage and I sold in the trend stage. bearish, today that coin has not recovered (I do not think it will recover), because they did not know how to handle the power that they once had in that project, the good thing was the learning that I obtained.

10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?

The DEFI ecosystem seems like a good thing to me if this helps mass adoption, it is one of the best things left from ICOs, when people talk about Defi, they will quickly get to the path of Bitcoin, this is what I see positive.

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?

Nowadays anonymity should be a necessity and that it is used as protection, but given the amount of regulations that are currently being implemented, they want to know what is the identity of those who operate with Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies, it is something that I will never support.

12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?

The last book dealing with the direct application of Bitcoin to the market was "Memories of a Stock Trader" by Jesse Livermore.

13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years?

It is difficult, but I would choose Monero, ETH and another that is in the range of CMC after the second currency, I usually choose them because they have more history and their chart is almost the same as Bitcoin.

14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2020?

By the end of 2020, I think it can hit $ 15k because demand usually increases in December and it's a good time to wait for a nice bullish rally.

Thank you@ zasad for granting me the privilege to be interviewed
Questions:
1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?
In a bid to invest in the popular moribund popular ponzi scheme in 2016 as a newbie with a motive of "getting rich quick" the scheme introduced bitcoin as an alternative means of payment i.e investing with btc. I made further inquiries on bitcoin and other cryptos that was how I became interested in cryptocurrencies thus I became an instant crypto enthusiast
2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?
I bought my first Bitcoin in 2019 via an exchange in my country, I was granted a loan here and in a bid to avoid defaulting I opted to buying of bitcoin to settle my debt. it was quite an interesting transaction very swift and transparent thanks to blockchain technology.
3. How did you get on the forum?
Having heard the word "Bitcoin" I took up another challenge this time around and google searched bitcoin forum to get more facts, from the numerous google responses I was convinced with facts I read in various threads here, I registered immediately in the forum and settled down to read, study and digest how the forum operates, this took me many weeks to achieve.
4.1. What prevents mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?
I believed that cryptocurrencies is still in early stage of adoption, public enlightenment and awareness hasn't been widely spread across the third world or developing nations, even where it had reached there are some bad perception and reputation of cryptocurrencies being termed or categorized as a ponzi scheme this has created a lot of fears among numerous potential investors probably due to lack of enough information and these countries are endowed with huge population imagine 50% populations of those nations adopting cryptocurrencies, cryptos would received a massive boost and growth,
4.2. How do you think mass advertising of gambling projects has a positive effect on the development of the forum or harms the community?

Mass advertisement of gambling wouldn't harm the forum because some gamblers gambles as an alternative source of income while others gambles for fun, I am not surprise that gambling projects had been on increase in recent time, may be its due to Lockdown "stay at home"  this had given some  people opportunity to lay their hands on any profitable adventure, while it is necessary to gamble with the amount of money you can afford to lose.
4.3. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to successfully invest or does an investor need to receive special education?
2-3 years of my experience in cryptocurrencies is enough to me be convinced and investing in it without any doubt, this is achievable by researching on some of the most popular coins like BTC, ETH, BNB e.t.c coupled with some knowledge in charting analysis is an added advantage towards trading those coins i.e buying at low and selling at high thus profit is guaranteed example when BTC dumped in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic in March this year this created an ample opportunity of buying bitcoin and hodl then, I also remembered with nostalgia bitcoin Forks which are always synonymous with pump in the price.
5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?
Merit system has been the best innovation as far as the forum is concerned prior to the introduction of the system any Tom, Dick and Harry can become a Hero, senior, Full member by registering a doing social media post e.g twitter or facebook post the system will automatically ranked up those members having achieved the required numbers of activities and post thus without contributing any quality post to the forum.
Signature campaign had been very effective tool in advertisement and promotion of projects and I believed promoters had been achieving good results that is why signature campaigns had been thriving in the forum.
6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?
Anything trading discussions I like it    https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=8.0
also Development and Technical discussions because I am learning towards becoming a Tech-savvy https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=6.0
7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?
1. Improve on security features of the system.
2. I will ensured that the forum gain wider publicity and coverage because of its cryptos resourcefulness.
3. create a special thread for trading strategies and trading calls with charting analysis
8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?
I traded with Binance for a while but my preferred trading is forex I had settled down with one broker already.

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?

I had never experience any loss or profit however I once had a funny experience of selling huge amount of bitcoin to an exchanger immediately after sending the coin the price of BTC witnessed a massive pump thus denying me some extra decent profits.
10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?
I have not research on DeFis project for now I hope to do so soon I knew its the  most hyped and trended project in Crypto ecosystem
11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?
My anonymity is very important to me I don't think its necessary to reveal my identity in the name of KYC for any transaction or anything, staying anonymous is the best bet to me.
12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?
"A complete Guide To Volume Price Analysis" as recommended by a member of the forum whose interview I read.
13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years?
BTC, ETH, BCH, BNB
14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2020?
Comfortably above $12,000

Hello.
I want to interview you. I hope for your consent.
Glad to take part in the interview zasad@

Questions:
1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?
I first heard about bitcoin in 2014 through some guy who I think was a trader at that time. After making a few searches, I realized that there were a few more other cryptocurrencies but at that time I knew nothing about trading or mining so my interest died out and came back in 2016 when I discovered that it was easier to send money to someone across the globe using bitcoin minus using the traditional money transfer services like Western Union or MoneyGram

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?
2016 when I wanted to transfer money to my brother who was in a different continent at that time.

3. How did you get on the forum?
Whenever I would try to search for anything crypto related, Reddit and Bitcointalk would always come up in the search results, so I decided to sign up.

4.1. What prevents mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?

  • Getting to know, use, trade, and safeguard cryptocurrencies requires some technical knowledge which can not be gasped by everyone especially the older generations
  • Governments and authorities continue to sow the seeds of terror about cryptocurrencies to the general populations. So you will find most of the people out there think Bitcoin is scam because they blindly believe what's being said by authorities

4.2. How do you think mass advertising of gambling projects has a positive effect on the development of the forum or harms the community?
I don't think it affects the development of the forum in any way. In fact, it makes me feel happy each time I see services that accept Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies being launched here.

4.3. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to successfully invest or does an investor need to receive special education?
It's some does help. For example, after 2-3 years;
- I can no longer be hoodwinked into buying and holding bags of shitcoins
- I know how to manage my funds safely minus exposing my wallets to hackers or thieves
- I can not be scammed or be fooled into joining Ponzi schemes or MLMs

Learning is a continuous process, so even after 2-3 years, there is still more to learn.

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?
Not at all.
- The Merit system helped reduce spam in the forum which was becoming a plague
- The Bitcoin paying signature campaigns are beneficial in away that they help members who have never had any bitcoins have some as a small reward for being active in the forum. This is one of the few forums where one can post a problem and gets quick responses from members minus having to wait for days or weeks

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?
There are so many topics that are helpful, but I would go with [GUIDES] on Bitcointalk. Index thread (until there is a dedicated subforum?) since it contains links to most topics

Most helpful users? There are so many I would need over an hour to list all of them here but a few I can quickly List are;
  • LoyceV
  • OmegaStarScream
  • DdmrDdmr
  • o_e_l_e_o
  • fillippone
  • philipma1957
  • mikeywith
  • jackg
  • Coolcryptovator
  • TryNinja

7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?
  • Two-Factor Authentication
  • Quicker migration to the new epochtalk forum software, It's like we are waiting for the Savior to first come back  Cheesy
  • Completely ban bitcointalk account sales

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?
I currently do trading and also try to accumulate BTC and ETH. I used to invest in ICOs but stopped in towards the end of 2018

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?
My biggest profit came from the ICO hype at the beginning of 2018 when the Ether price was soaring. At one point managed to make returns of over 3500% of what I had initially used to buy the tokens.

10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?
It's just mostly driven by hype which will die out soon just like the ICO, IEO, STO craze. Those who were looking to make some quick profits should have jumped on the train as early as last year and exited or started of thinking of exiting by now. Once the hype is gone, that when it will be easy to notice legit projects and scams. Without proper regulations, it's very hard to know how far DeFi can go.

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?
It's just a precaution

12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?
I haven't read any cryptocurrency book. Most of the information I got about Bitcoin and other cryptos has been through blogs, Articles, YouTube videos, Reddit and this forum which I feel is enough

13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years?
I don't have any investment advice because one man's trash is another man's treasure.

So personally the coins I am looking at are Bitcoin, Ethereum and Cardano

14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2020?
$15,000

1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?
Although I have known the name of Bitcoin for a long time, but it is not too long ago I became interested in Bitcoin. When I lost my part-time job in 2016, I had to go through a miserable life. At that time, I used to do a little bit of forex trading. Then one of my freelancer friends asked me why I am not investing in Bitcoin market! For his encouragement I left the Forex market and started trading in the Bitcoin market. Then I didn't have to look back, I didn't have to go door to door for a job. I was able to pay all of my educational needs and also able to help my family.

2. When and why did you when you buy your first bitcoin?
As far as I remember, I bought my first bitcoin in 2014. My friend encouraged me to buy Bitcoin, I bought Bitcoin for the first time with some kind of fun, I still had no idea what to do with. I bought it because of my friend's insistence and left it that way for a year.

3. How did you get on the forum?
I first heard the name Bitcoin at the beginning of 2013 when Bitcoin was being forked and there was a huge stir about Bitcoin fork through social media. At that time I didn't understand what bitcoin was, I just heard the name only. Then I searched online by typing bitcoin and found the forum and became a member.

4.1. What prevents mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?
I think its confusion, the main reason for this is the confusion of people towards cryptocurrency. The government is very much responsible for this, the governments of different countries have declared cryptocurrency illegal and after a while declared it legal, their activities create panic in the minds of the people.

Yet many people are frightened when they hear the name cryptocurrency, thinking it is a criminal act to use cryptocurrency in public. I think if these confusions in the minds of the people could be removed, it would be possible to adopt a wide range of cryptocurrencies.

4.2. How do you think mass advertising of gambling projects has a positive effect on the development of the forum or harms the community?
There are separate boards in the forum for gambling. Those who do gambling don't talk about gambling anywhere other than the gambling board. When it comes to gambling advertisements,
The signature campaign says to post more on the gambling board, even if you don't post on the other board, there is no problem. And I think gambling signature campaigns keep the forum alive.

4.3. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to successfully invest or does an investor need to receive special education?
I think two to three years of experience is enough to successfully invest in the crypto market if he is able to gain the right experience. Also, if one studies to gain special knowledge on cryptocurrency, it is always positive. I myself always try to stay with technology to stay with knowledge.

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?
There is no doubt that the "merit system" is good enough for the forum. Before the merit system, good posts could not be found in the crowd of spamming posts. Using the forum after the introduction of the merit system is now getting a little peace. And speaking of the signature campaign, with the introduction of the merit system, good writers are now getting a fair chance to work.

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?
I think there may be variations of beneficial threads depending on the individual. One thing may seem beneficial to someone, which may seem like a normal post to others. Most of the time I passes my leisure by watching sports and doing online trading, so mostly I like the threads of the gambling board and the trading discussion board. Recently these two posts caught my eye:

10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?
Nowadays DeFi is profitable. But, Personally I don’t have any trust on Hype. But there is a proverb "No risk, no gain."

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?
Precaution- People will be greedy when they will know about the amount of your wealth, and it is the causes of blackmail, kidnappings are not uncommon. So, stay anonymous stay safe.

Thank you for letting me in for this interview.

Questions:

1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?
In the year 2019 when I discovered cryptocurrency, I just discovered it upon reading an article, the first thing that I have done upon reading an article related to bitcoin is that I search about cryptocurrency and I discovered also the forum which is the cryptotalk, I joined this forum and I am so happy with that forum before because of the things that I acquired from posting. I think that I am so lucky that time because I earned 1000 satoshis for creating only 100 characters of posts and that is easy for me because some of the topics there are not that related to cryptocurrency. With the help of cryptotalk, I discovered this forum(bitcointalk) because of a specific topic there comparing both forums. I am happy now and become really interested in bitcoin because of the teo forums. I am so happy whenever I have a crypto transaction, that is a good feeling for a beginner like me.

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?
I bought my first bitcoin 0.001 in the month of April this year, I am so nervous that time because I don't think if I am doing the right process of buying cryptocurrency, the bitcoin that I bought that time was used for investment but I got scammed from a bitcoin doubler, just a common mistake for every beginner, I hooked up from the offer of the website and easily believe them because I want to earn bitcoin that time, I don't have any experience about a scam that time so I did not doubt the website.

3. How did you get on the forum?
I discovered this forum with the help of the forum cryptotalk, I read a topic comparing cryptotalk and bitcointalk, and based on the comparison, I can say that bitcointalk is much better than cryptotalk so I get curious and created this account, at first I read some topics on the beginners&help section and I see many useful topics about cryptocurrency, I am really satisfied that time because it is not like cryptotalk where most of the topics in beginners&help are not that so related about cryptocurrency.

4.1. What prevents mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?
Fear and lack of knowledge prevent the mass adoption of cryptocurrency, many countries are not well educated about cryptocurrency, you can pursue things without enough knowledge because it will give a failed result. Fear is also considered as a threat for mass adoption because many people are thinking that cryptocurrency is a scam at all, even though they don't know too many things about it they still call it as a scam, maybe they have the concept in their mind that the only way to earn money is only for manual things.

4.2. How do you think mass advertising of gambling projects has a positive effect on the development of the forum or harms the community?
Mass advertising of gambling projects has a positive effect on the development of the forum because we all know that gambling cannot be gone in any countries, casino gambling and online gambling are both popular all over the world, many people used to play in gambling site and casino gambling and by that, they may discover the forum.

4.3. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to successfully invest or does an investor need to receive special education?
2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is already enough for an individual to be a successful investor, within those years I think they already acquired so many knowledge which can be useful for their investment, knowledge, and experience are both important when we do investment and I think 2-3 years are enough.

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?
I am not that so familiar with the merit system but as far as I know, it is one of the requirements to rank up the second one is the activity. I think this is a really good feature of the bitcointalk because this will give some motivation to a member to create more useful topics or content so they can acquire merits. To rank up is also achievement and merit is a necessity for that. A signature campaign is also good, it will help the forum to be discovered by many people. It also makes many of the members active.

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?
The most useful forum topic for me is the unofficial rules of the forum, without the rules of the forum things will not be organized, it is impossible to have a successful forum if there are no rules to be followed by many members. Everyone can be a useful user in this forum, as long as you are doing your best to participate, share your knowledge, and to learn then that is enough to be called a useful user.

7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?
I am still a beginner to this forum and I haven't explored yet all the things that this forum has so I cannot suggest things need to implement in this forum. Sorry about that.

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?
Yes, I do trading in binance, there is a bad time and there is also a good time as well, I am not an active trader because I know how risky it is. I prefer more to invest than trading.

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?
I don't have yet a big profit but I already have a big loss, it is not a loss from trading or investing, it is lost money because of a scam, I got scammed from a bitcoin-doubler, just like what I have said in number 2.

10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?
I don't have good knowledge so far about Defi ecosystem, if I am not mistaken it is about an alternative financial system that can be done through the internet.

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?
Anonymity is very important in the world of cryptocurrency, you should always keep your identity safe and secure because of so many hackers in the online world.

12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?
I don't read any cryptocurrency book because spending my time in the forum is enough to gain knowledge.

13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years?
I only trust bitcoin, ethereum, and bitcoin cash.

14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2020?
There are already many predictions that the price of the bitcoin will reach $20k before this year ends but I think it can reach more than $25k, I am hoping for that time.

P.S.  I am so thankful for zasad@ because of permitting me to join this interview. I feel so great reading some answers from other members.

- Decentralization is what made me interested in crypto currencies. I came to know about cryptos in 2010 but at that time not many people were using it and I didn't expect it that it'll do this good by today!, So yes you can say I missed opening oportunity.

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?
I didn't buy my first bitcoin until 2015 a client of mine offered me bitcoin for my work.

3. How did you get on the forum?
To be honest I heard about this forum on a gambling website back when I used to gamble a lot.

4.1. What prevents mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?
Banks!, News against bitcoin, I think as long as people use and listen to these 2 things they will not be able to think for themselves since NEWS is mostly brainwashing.

4.2. How do you think mass advertising of gambling projects has a positive effect on the development of the forum or harms the community?
No, I think forum can make money through advertising different gambling websites here. It's up to individual whether they chose to use a gambling service or not.

4.3. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to successfully invest or does an investor need to receive special education?
I think if an individual invest his/her's 2-3 years on this forum then the individual can have enough knowledge regards different projects and i think no special education is necessary.

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?
Honestly, Merit system is good for forum and campaigns because it reduces SPAM don't promote Low quality stuff on the forum, But frankly it's quite hard to earn merit.

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?
There aren't many users I've dealt with on this forums but one of the most understanding user i've dealt with is "CryptopreneurBrainboss", And no I'm not calling his name out because I'm in his campaign  Smiley

A trade i did in 2018 with IOTA-BTC pair that made me 3 BTC in a single trade because IOTA was over sold and it was +30% growth within 24 hours on Bitfinex.

10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?
I think it's a good to have a DEFI ecosystem but most of the DeFi stocks i see on poloniex are of very low volume maybe that's a downside.

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?
You wouldn't want someone to know the amount of bitcoins/cryptocurrencies you have/own.  Wink

-Bitcoin

Thank you for inviting me in this interview  Smiley

1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?
I first now about bitcoin around 2016 when some video documentary about deepweb appeared on my social media timeline and for that I got curious about the content and found out the bitcoin is one of the currency use to transact, out of curiosity I research the bitcoins and find some information's on what type of currency is this and how this thing work since the technology really got my interest.

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?
Around 2016 when someone introduce me about how I can trade it and earn, I remember  Ccex exchange days when many people shill and always talk about how good the coins to buy at the moment and earn and also certain hyip sites got me, I really learn a lesson in terms on investment from that.

3. How did you get on the forum?
A random google searching redirect me unto this forum since I research a certain information and bitcointalk forum is always popping up on selection, that's when my journey starts here and I never regret to find this forum  Smiley

4.1. What prevents mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?
Scams, Mainstream media creates wrong information about bitcoin and crypto currency , government support and  Blockchain literacy or shall we say ignorance of the people about the technology which they easily decline the opportunity without even trying it. These are the reasons why I see preventing the mass adoption.

4.2. How do you think mass advertising of gambling projects has a positive effect on the development of the forum or harms the community?
There are two sides of effect brought by the gambling projects in this  forum and I will tell first the negative since this sites really make people addict and lost their money in bad ways, but this will be corrected if they know the risk and have a discipline for theirselves. But also this is really bring a good positive effect to the forum since it bring traffic since it can lure fiat based gambler to go here and also if those gamblers will done enough with gambling atleast they know bitcoin is existing and they have knowledge about its volatility and how they can earn with it,(This is just my IMO though).

4.3. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to successfully invest or does an investor need to receive special education?
2-3 years of experience? I really think its enough to invest on some platforms on what we think we can earn from it but those years of experience is not a license for us to be called an expert already since we have so many things needed to learn and I believe on every step we do is a learning process for us since we still really don't know on what will be the outcome tomorrow and many flaw will happen.

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?
Before there's no merit introduce we see a lot of user creates a lots of account for certain types of abuse and what worse is some users use this for scamming and spamming. But now since the merit system introduce it really helps a lot to minimize the farmers as well those unnecessary spamming in the forum.

Somehow I find signature campaign helpful in the forum since it gives a certain curiosity to the people who want  to earn online, and If they want to earn online for sure they will spend some time here to learn more talk about things and try other forms of investment by using the cryptocurrency.

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?
The welcome thread created by lauda for newbies and the threads created by LoyceV since they are truly helpful for forum users to learn and redirect on things that they didn't know.

7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?
Bitcoin price ticker on upper portion of the forum so we can check the current price of bitcoin,

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?
I trade on exchanges and never want to go anymore on investment sites who offer a untrue profit to their investors.

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?
On year 2018 which I think the bull run will continue and thinking about to earn more money for the current pumping happening but turns out the price dump and still believing for the price rise to comeback and lose more for that matters.

10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?
Just a brand new name of ICO which I don't want to participate with and no plans to look on any of it, Many scammers are joining it right now so I don't advise to anyone to ride with the current trend on Altcoin section.

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?
Anonymity is an important matter to me, so I always careful about this to avoid problems.

12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?
Not a bookworm and not reading any of thos.

13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years?
Bitcoin
Ethereum
Litecoin

I'm not fan of any other especially if we talk about token since most of them are prone of dumping.

14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2020?
I guesss it will be $14,000-$16,000 that is the closest figure I see on year ends.

15. P.S. (Optional)
We shouldn't afraid on new things since we will might miss some opportunities if we are afraid to try new, We should learn on how the process go and if we really see its harmful to us then its about time to quit. But we should always remember that Bitcoins and cryptocurrency is the big game changer to us.

Bitcoin = Financial freedom
October 17, 2020, 04:55:52 AM
Thanks for the invite mate, I want to keep my answers sweet and simple. Wink
1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?

2017, I get to know about fiat money deeply and why middle class people always stuck into the category no matter how hard and more money they are making every year so I felt this is the time to get into the revolutionary money system.

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?

I am aware of the crypto currencies existence in the year 2015/16 itself but I only made my first purchase in Q2 of 2017, yeah I was lucky to buy before the real bullish trend began.

3. How did you get on the forum?

Obviously, if we search anything about crypto will give more results from bitcointalk and reddits and that is how I get into the forum.I was using BTT as guest user for a while before making an account.

4.1. What prevents mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?

Ignorant people, who actually don't know what is bitcoin but they pretends themselves that they know everything and yell that bitcoin is scam to other people, government using the people's ignorance about the freedom of using their money and stopping the crypto adoption with high tax rates.

4.2. How do you think mass advertising of gambling projects has a positive effect on the development of the forum or harms the community?

I think gambling field bring more positive effect to the crypto market and the forum than the negative because gambling field is one of the place where cryptos where actually spend than hold.

4.3. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to successfully invest or does an investor need to receive special education?

IMO, no one can be a special investor, all they can become is matured investor so more experience and mistakes will help them to become better investor.
5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?

Merit system was introduced in the right time or else this forum will be filled with lot of accounts with no real purpose to exists because more people consider this as a place to earn money and without merit system it is much easier to build high ranked forum accounts so merit system helped a lot to avoid spams. But merit system is not a complete system so we can't evaluate a member using their earned merits.

Talking about signature campaigns I feel it is one of the reason why we still keep the activity going on there and also lot of members trying to contribute to the forum to get a spot in a signature campaign.

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?

Hundreds of topics out there so it is not possible to list each of them but I am more attracted to WO thread because where everything exists from information to sarcasm. Most helpful uers are also lot of members there and I got inspired by Loycev because many forum members wondered that he is actually a human or AI due to his contribution towards forum's betterment.
7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?

Report to moderator feature with some predefined options to choose for general spams which can reduce the work load of moderators by huge.
Official mention notification for our quotes

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?

I am trader.
9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?

Whales will never disclose their profits to anyone. Grin
10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?

Another hype will eventually fade away.

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?

Anonymity too but its not a primary reason why I choose bitcoin.
12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?

Sorry, I don't have that much patience to read a complete book. Lips sealed
13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years?

I think bitcoin is enough.
14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2020?

$16,000

1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?

I got interested in cryptocurrency when the bitcoin starts spreading over the internet, and also the news. At that time, I don’t have real knowledge of the cryptocurrencies some the thing I knew this is just a scam by discovering the bitcoin and other things related to it, I start to make a review, research, and explore what are the things I need to learn with this. AFAIK way back 2017 I start my journey and I found it this forum but I’ve not become active too much because I need to complete my study and work. Now I back myself serving again with the crypto and try to make additional knowledge and earning with this through the use of different methods.

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?

I just bought my first bitcoin way back in 2018 or 2019 because this is not popular at this time, of course, I there is no establishment supporting the bitcoin in my country because don’t have knowledge I try to convert… and convert.. and convert my bitcoin until the amount comes to 0.000000 BTC. Recently I just bought again bitcoin and try the techniques of other people to earn which is the “Buying low and selling High”

3. How did you get on the forum?

Just because of my curiosity about the bitcoin I found this forum by using google that’s it. But im not become too active.

4.1. What prevents mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?

For me, I think the mindset of the people. There are a lot of statements that if you are using/promoting the cryptocurrency this is automatically a scam. It's too hard to remove on the mindset of the people that they are afraid to lose some money so they are preventing this if they know there is a cryptocurrency involved but by the time goes by the cryptocurrency now are slowly adopting by the people.

4.2. How do you think mass advertising of gambling projects has a positive effect on the development of the forum or harms the community?

There are a lot of gamblers who don’t have any time to go outside just to play gambling instead they use the alternative which is the gambling projects on the forum. Also, it helps too to become more convenient for them. We have different users on the forum that they can make research, action, background check on the gambling projects to make sure this is not a scam. One of the good things these projects makes the forum more active to give their insights and opinion, this is a good source of the review too, the forum benefits this too because it might help the expenses on the forum.

4.3. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to successfully invest or does an investor need to receive special education?

Experience is experiencing no matter how easy or hard it is because this gives a man good confidence and critical thinking about the things they need if this may happen again. Investors do not need to give a special education because this is volatile this is risky; if you succeed in an investment you will get a degree? Of course not, instead it tests yourself how to manage this kind of situation.

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?

The merit system is one of the most preferred ideas because it sifted out the members to know who is the quality poster and shit posters, signature campaigns today requires a merit count to make sure that the member is qualified to promote their campaign. This activity gives more activity to our forum.

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?

It's too hard to mention a good thread on the forum because it's too many. But one of the most helpful users I saw on the forum are LoyceV, suchmoon, Ratimov, DdmrDdmr, Charles-tim, and The Pharmacist. Actually, there are a lot more, because I saw them active on Meta and Beginners & help.

7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?

hmm... Right now I really don’t have an idea.

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?

Yes, I trade with the Binance, not good trading but still learning, Also I want to make an investment with projects but I don’t have any idea, do someone recommend me?

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?

Right now a haven’t experience getting a big profit, instead of a big loss, I’m a gambler of e-sports betting to be specific in Counter-Strike Global Offensive (CSGO) I lose on the match fight against Astralis feels bad when I always remember that times.

10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?

I don’t have any idea right now about DEFI.

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?

It's better to become anonymous to the world of the internet to prevent future threats and damages.

12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?

I’m not a fan of reading a book this looks like a sleeping pill to me instead I love watching videos related to cryptocurrency.

13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years?

 1. Bitcoin – conquer the whole market again
 2. Ethereum – there are a lot of projects with the use of this coin.
 3. BNB or Stellar – They have a good market price right now there is a chance (just a guess).

14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2020?

There is a lot of humor on the bitcoin price but I think it comes to $18000, after this I think it's back again to $3000 like the recently we experience.

Sorry took me a bit to get around to this. Thanks for asking me to take part.

Questions:
1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?
I was bored and looking for ways to increase my earning potential. I have a decent job to support my family but it was long hours, filled with boredom and minimal tasks; I know woe is me. So I spent hours searching for ways to earn while at work. In May/June 2017 I stumbled on some articles about Bitcoin and remembered nearly getting into it in 2015/2016. Eventually I settled on mining after 3 attempts to buy Bitcoin from scammers. Unfortunately legit sites that would have accepted Fiat, seemed really scammy in continuing to ask for additional documents and I never went that route.

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?
A lofty goal I have yet to reach. I have always had a rather limited amount I could invest in BTC directly. My first purchase was to shop online in 2016, but because of some rather confusing articles I never looked back as it made Bitcoin fees seem an infinitely compounding cost. In the end I invested in mining gear. I have had the potential to earn 1 BTC, but have also had to sell off decent portions at times due to irl situations.

3. How did you get on the forum?
Getting scammed finally brought me to this forum. I was reselling some of my first gear, and I received a return on gear that worked fine. While trying to troubleshoot the item, I stumbled on this forum because someone a day or two before had posted the same question. Figured it was them and had to create an account to message them. It went nowhere but I've been happy here ever since.

4.1. What prevents mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?
Use case. Then there is the technical hurdle for most newcomers that can be overwhelming.

4.2. How do you think mass advertising of gambling projects has a positive effect on the development of the forum or harms the community?
IT depends on whether you see gambling as a problem in itself. Personally I think Bitcoin and Crypto owe a lot to the gambling industry for the recognition and growth it saw... among other "venues" as well. Just like anything though people need to be aware of where they are putting their crypto, and know their limits.

4.3. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to successfully invest or does an investor need to receive special education?
Successful is relative. Someone who buys ETH for 330 and sells for 360 could consider it a victory. Someone throws a dart and drops 10K on a project that 4X's and busts, can be successful if they sold. I think to full-time trade in the markets you need some form of training structured or self taught is fine, but apart from that you are using feelings and gambling. Experience in the space just teaches you that there are a lot of scams and some can come looking pretty polished, and with lots of seemingly reasonable promises.

An example would be most of us have used computers since we were kids. Now how many could look at a PC case and know whether it's a good buy or not, most might just see a custom case and some lights and think score. The experience gives you the now how of a few points to look at beyond the façade to make better decisions.

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?
No merit has been useful in preventing account farming en masse to continue. Signature campaigns encourage decent contributors to continue to post or give them an attainable goal, which is nice. Given the fact that people can choose to make signatures invisible, I do not see campaigns as a negative.

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?
Pinned topics are the most useful. LoyceV is an all around useful poster. I found Phillipma1957, and Notfuzzywarm to be some of the most useful for myself starting out. dogie had the most useful posts and content made that was useful to me for the longest while mining.

7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?
Never really had a top 3, but I would implement a "Welcome Message" Upon signing up. A secondary account setting and login for browsing - so you can still see all details, replies and messages for browsing but without access for replies, posting or account details. Third would likely be some form of a structured marketplace, and/or improved guidelines and rules.

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?
I've done both. The P2P market for me has been pretty small, so there have been times I use exchanges to diversify a bit. I have invested in 1 ICO I believe, while also recently trying my hand at picking a few projects I think can make a go of it. Not something I've put a ton of focus on but am dabbling in a bit.

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?
Big profit - Becoming a decent poster and contributing to the forum. Sounds cheesy but without that I never would have managed to get into a decent signature campaign which has been the largest source of BTC income I've made.
Big Loss - Walking into a social engineering scam.

10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem? It's promising, but is going to be oversaturated very soon. You can already see clones of clones coming out simply to catch the pump from the hype. Costs associated with this can be high at times as well so there will always be something to work on and improve.

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution? It's a great thing to have. Mine was pretty much out the window the second I signed up here, but it was more to the fact that I hadn't really noticed how little you really have in the world. I also used this forum to conduct trades early on and it became apparent that for anonymity I would essentially have to get rid of my account and start over.
So do I go shouting it from the rooftops? No. Could I disappear and no one know who or where to look, not a chance. I don't mind that people I interact with could identify me, but I'm also aware of the risks that can bring.

12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?
Never read one.

13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years? Lol. Not my place to suggest. I do think BTC, and ETH are safe bets atm. I also like where ADA is at the moment.

14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2020? December usually brings some crazy runs, but at the end of December who knows. I'd say somewhere around 15K

15. P.S. (Optional)
Keep the forum fun for yourself. Try not to get sucked into petty squabbles or let the social/political side of the forum overshadow the potential for learning or having fun. There is so much more available here than just earning your place, that stuff can come naturally while you find your place here.

I keep eyeing this interview for a while now and just waiting for the invitation.
BTW, Thank you for inviting me for this interview  Grin

1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?
As far as I remember, I discovered cryptocurrency through bitcoin in the final quarter of 2013, It was pretty lame but I am invited as a referral on a site (I couldn't remember that site  Sad) Then the curiosity starts within me, and did a research about bitcoin and stumbled up in this forum.

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?
I got my first bought bitcoin in the year 2016, I bought some because of the potential of it that can bring me some profits.

3. How did you get on the forum?
Stumbled up upon doing my research back then.

4. You have a lot of analytics services on the forum, is it a hobby or a job?
A job maybe?

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?
I think it is better that the Merit system is implemented, There are different kind of people in this forum and some of them are the abuser that keeps farming accounts to make a profit from it. The Merit system brings back the integrity of this forum and it helps to avoid people abusing the campaigns here.

I remember before when the ICO hype was still there, The bounty campaigns are flooded with obvious alts and most of them are just shit posting just to come up in their quota. Today, honestly it is still happening but it is not much worst compared before.

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?
There are many and on different boards, It includes scam accusations that can give warnings to those who are trying to try out platforms and those who give tutorials, recommendations, and guides for newbies or people who are unfamiliar with the thing they are doing. I believed the most helpful people are the ones who initiated those kinds of threads.

7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?
1. Having a warning notice on the ANN thread of projects or sites that can bring potential harm to the viewers or users. It is like the flag system on the profile that can be supported by anyone but the different thing is it is on the thread that it is shown.
2. Banning alt accounts that is proved accountable.
3. Nothing more.

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?
I invested on some ICO before, Around 2017 when the hype is so much. I have tried many exchanges before that has listed my coin investments, and up to now, I'm still using some exchange because I'm trading sometimes.

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?
I think I know I'm not the only one that has a crash story on the start of 2018. Most of my hodlings that time crashed it's value and it gaves me some kind of emotional breakdown that leads me to stop using crypto or hearing crypto news for a while. That time is my greatest asset to value loss.

10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?
One thing is for sure, token users can make a good profit for it if they do it right. But the whole ecosystem is nice but not new. It's just the token release are well hyped.

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?
BOTH OF IT!

12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?
I forgot the title of it, But I have only read one book about crypto and I didn't finish it  Tongue

13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years?
BITCOIN, ETHEREUM, AND BITCOIN AGAIN

14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2020?
I hope that it can go above $12,000 at the end of 2020

15.
Keep learning things and adopt in the current situation, Do it right and you will be fine  Grin

Appreciate the interview and thanks zasad@ Cheesy

1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?
My interest for cryptocurrencies came from an app where you can earn points for certain tasks then exchange those points for a reward and while I was browsing for all of the rewards bitcoin was also available. Then everything escalated from there checked the official bitcoin site, created my own wallet and made a forum account as well.

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?
I didn't bought my first bitcoin. I didn't had plans to accumulate my first bitcoin back then but I was lucky enough to win my first one from a bitcoin casino.

3. How did you get on the forum?
I was interested on what people buy/spend with their Bitcoin and after a quick search it led me to the forum's marketplace section.

4.1. What prevents mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?
Some people are quick on hating cryptocurrencies because the media usually share the bad side whenever cryptocurrencies are struggling and ignore the good side about it. Imo that's what discourages a lot of people from trying out cryptocurrencies.

4.2. How do you think mass advertising of gambling projects has a positive effect on the development of the forum or harms the community?
The advertisements from gambling projects definitely gave a positive effect or at least some of it since we see them engage with the community and take feedbacks on what should be improved on.

4.3. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to successfully invest or does an investor need to receive special education?
I think 2-3 years is somewhat enough to have a grasp of what are the good and bad here in the cryptocurrency world. Getting some special education isn't really necessary.

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?
The current merit system is great I remember it did a bit of harm to the forum by forcing a lot of newbies to be inactive but it meant less spam for the moderators so all in all more good than bad. Signature campaigns is also in the same spot now that there are guidelines for it and most of the campaigns are monitored by the community there's always a discussion thread if it becomes an issue.

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?
If I only have to pick one topic it's probably the The Unnoficial forum rules. The most helpful users for me are the stat guys in the meta section Ddmrddmr, LoyceV, and tranthidung, .

7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?
The report badges that was discussed before.
An extra rank above Legendary.
Night mode so I don't have to use an addon.  Tongue

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?
I only trade on exchanges. Sometimes P2P if I prefer a different payment method. I'm not that interested when it comes to projects.

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?
Here's my biggest profit story since I mentioned my first bitcoin from a casino it's also the biggest profit i've made. It all started from sportsbet's as they had a big promo together with the EURO 2016 event. The promo was about a lottery where they'll pick random users that places a $1 bet in one of the EURO matches. The rewards ranged from 1btc to 0.1btc and I ended up winning at least 1btc in my account the value of bitcoin during that time was $600.

10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?
