it would also be nice to have an interview about a member who is just starting to make a name for himself/herself.
Pick one: The future of Bitcointalk: Low Ranking Top Merit earners in the past 30 days
I know you said pick one but based on their merit and their activity all around the forum I'd say cryptoaddictchie(although he is already a hero member) and rikafip(a Sr. member) would be a great choice. there several members that have high merit but they are usually only active to one or two boards.

But man....I thought LoyceV was some sort of AI script written by Theymos or one of the programming geniuses we have here on bitcointalk.
Isn't LoyceV an AI?
No. Here's proof:

Thanks for the feedback! I will definitely contact all the participants mentioned above.
I will try to select interesting questions, so I will have to spend time studying the interests of users.

it is a given that a lot of members here would want to see or read the interview about the most established/well-known members here in the forum but it would also be nice to have an interview about a member who is just starting to make a name for himself/herself. I'm quite curious about what was their motivation from when they were just starting in this forum and what are the goals they want to achieve in this forum.

I like the idea, but I think you should keep the same set of questions for everybody.
It will become a survey having the same set of question but it would also be preferred knowing it could be use as a reference on the different kind of users here in the forum. A variety of users here with different attitudes/behavior towards cryptocurrency or even to other users. We'll see how far this thread will go. Loycev had started it already with a good vibes answer so the rest will be expected to do more vibes or a unique answers.

I can't wait to see how theymos will going to answer the interview or quetions that will be ask.

I will select questions depending on the user's preferences. If the user is a miner, trader or investor, etc., then I will try to ask more professional questions.
That's a good approach, and I like this idea in general.  I know there are a lot of members who don't want to give out a lot of personal information but I'm interested in learning a little more about some of my fellow forumites (even if it's not strictly personal info).  Props to you, OP.

But man....I thought LoyceV was some sort of AI script written by Theymos or one of the programming geniuses we have here on bitcointalk.  I have now been disabused of that notion, I guess (unless his responses were some next-level AI shit--and who could tell?).

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?

"Both. I think privacy is one of the most undervalued commodities. People trade their privacy for pennies or funny pictures. And once it's gone, you'll never get it back!"

Although any personal question is not asked in this interview but most people here on the forum would not like to give the interview because they do not want to disclose their identity.
This is a bitcoin forum where privacy is more important than the fame like other social media platforms.

That's nice perception OP, the question should depend on the user's personality if you are going to ask more technical question.

How about you make a poll for the next candidate. I have a suggestion, since the theme is interview, why not make it an actual or live interview for the chosen user that will be your guest.

Both of you will set the time, when it will start, like a normal Q/A he will answer after your question is posted. To make it clean, the thread will be self moderated so if anyone would suddenly post it will be deleted right away. Like both of you talking until the end. But the thread shouldnt be on meta cause self moderated isnt allowed here. I just dont know where, also set a time for the whole activity like 30mins. Just a suggestion mate.

It wasn't really an interview, it was one list of questions. An interview (where one question is sent at a time) could actually be more interesting, as you can have follow up questions depending on the answers.
This is good like a thread of conversation until the whole interview end. Organic conversation style.

4. You have a lot of analytics services on the forum, is it a hobby or a job?

"I'm not willing to share my profession, so let's keep it at a hobby. Or a job. Or both."
I guess both is the best answer for this; an assumption only based on one of LoyceV's offer to me. I once asked about some data on Russian board and he was willing to provide data (paid) since I was going to utilize that data for commercial purpose. Nevertheless, he has done a lot of works out of his interest and all of these works are not paid. So, yeah, data analyze is both for him; job & hobby.
That was a great read of course. I would love to see one of such interview with suchmoon and Lauda if possible.

people that I will be very happy to see your interviews:
@satoshi (50 Merit for this one!)
@theymos

If people know what questions are in advance you will probably get more interest as people know what to expect and whether they'd be OK answering them.
I didn't know the questions in advance, but I did say I wouldn't answer anything that can be used to identify me. Anyone can of course just say: "I'm not answering this".

Good read. Who is next?

Are the questions fixed for all or you intend to mixed it up depending on who you interview?

How do you plan to maintain this thread by the way? I'm guessing members will be giving feedback on answers given by LoyceV and future interviewees but I'm not sure if that's your intention.

Edit: I'd nominate members who regularly posts on mining and technical boards.

I like the idea, but I think you should keep the same set of questions for everybody. The only one that seems to be personalised is question 4. The rest could be answered by everyone. If people know what questions are in advance you will probably get more interest as people know what to expect and whether they'd be OK answering them. It will also be interesting to see everybody's answers to the same questions. Maybe people could propose another one or two questions that can be asked.

It was actually an interesting read, kept concise and informative.
I would assume the interview took place through PM, if you plan on adding future ones to this thread, you could enclose them in code tags so it fits in easily rather than making multiple replies, and reputation would be a more appropriate section.

LoyceV (Legendary)
One of the most participants in the forum.
His projects:

[overview] LoyceV's useful data on Bitcointalk
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/overview-loycevs-useful-data-on-bitcointalk-5145594

Let's start

1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?

"I don't know exactly, but it was before Bitcoin reached even a few dollars. Unfortunately, I didn't trust the software, didn't install it, and didn't buy it back then. The regrets are real!
I regained interest and installed my first wallet shortly before I joined Bitcointalk on February 26, 2015."

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?

"I don't know exactly anymore, the oldest trade I can find back was a fraction of a Bitcoin in January 2016 (when the price was well below $500)."

3. How did you get on the forum?

"Google, I guess."

4. You have a lot of analytics services on the forum, is it a hobby or a job?

"I'm not willing to share my profession, so let's keep it at a hobby. Or a job. Or both."

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?

"Merit made account farming useless, and has reduced spam. Signature campaigns can be good to increase interest in crypto, but only if the campaign manager does his job. In most cases paying a decent amount of Bitcoin means the company has an interest in hiring a decent manager. Most of the signature spam was created when some random n00b paid bounty spammers in made-up Tokens to post as much as they can, using as many accounts as possible to hype their scam ICO and make themselves rich. I think this got a bit better since ICOs lost their hype, and further improved after the Merit system was introduced.
I like to think I improved my posting when I joined my first signature campaign. Knowing that a (qualified) campaign manager is watching my every move made me more conscious."

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?

"I think both vary over time. Just like top cryptocurrencies, useful topics and active users disappear and new ones emerge ever few years.
I know my useful data, but there's no discussion going on there. I've seen some really interesting topics in Development & Technical Discussion, but those barely get the attention they deserve. I can't pick one most useful topic, and I don't really want to search to make a long list.
As for users: I've seen many helpful users, but again I don't really want to make a list. It's even better if said helpful user is also loaded with technical knowledge and can actually provide correct information. I've seen a few, but don't interact much with them. And that's the beauty of being a helpful user on a technical level: no drama, no arguments, just knowledge! I appreciate them, and I'm pretty sure they know who they are."

7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?

"I used to say I want my own Nuke button, but it's rare nowadays to report scams that require quick removal. I would like to see less drama though, be more Switzerland, care less about what some anonymous guy somewhere on the internet says about you.
Here's 3:
"

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?

"Hey, you lied to me You said there would be no more than 10 questions, and I've counted 10 already
Okay I'll continue: I don't actively trade, and I sure as hell don't trust 99.9% of the "projects" that are designed to make the creator rich. I use exchanges once in a while though, but not to actively speculate on the exchange rate."

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?

"I'm not a big gambler, nor a big trader, so there isn't much to tell here. A big loss would be not selling everything at the peak in December 2017, just like not buying when I first heard about Bitcoin. But that's in retrospect."

10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?

"This is the first time I hear that name. A quick search shows that it has to do with centrally controlled code-is-not-law Ethereum, and since The DAO they've lost all credibility when they abandoned everything they said to stand for to protect their own financial interests. I'm still amazed people fell for that. Smart contracts can't work if the only person who understands the contract is called: "The Attacker". I simply gave up on following anything related to Ethereum, because the entire coin is build upon a flawed foundation."

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?

"Both. I think privacy is one of the most undervalued commodities. People trade their privacy for pennies or funny pictures. And once it's gone, you'll never get it back!"

12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?

"I haven't read any book on cryptocurrency completely. I usually need something specific, and search until I find what I'm looking for. I wish I had the time to read more books though."

13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years?

"Although I don't do investment advice, I would bet on Bitcoin and against euro and dollar for the coming years."

14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2020?

"I'll tell you in January Tongue No really, I'm terrible at predictions. If I'd know, I'd be rich! I still have high hopes for the coming months (after the last block reward halving)."

Thanks to LoyceV for the interview!

The end.
