Hi. I bought my first BTCs a few days ago. I was going to purchase some goods with it, but now I think I'm going to hang on to it for a while and see where the price goes.. win or lose. If it crashes I'll buy the goods then, and reinvest some more for the future.

I believe in cryptocurrencies for the long term - be it BTC or alts. And I'm sort of falling in love with mining and the community. <3

i still find the exchanges fascinating to watch, if the potential sums of cash were not so vast, bitcoin and other crypto curentcies would be a valuable teaching aid for students of financial markets.

in furtherence of this line of thinking,

would it be possible to create a shadow currency, that is mined as a coin but faster yet mirrors its value as a %tage of anothers without having any not classroom value.

just seems a interesting idea to me

Hey bitcoiners !  Smiley

Lots of interesting threads here, some that i wish i would have read earlier, some that i reserve the read for later, but indubitably a fair amount of knowledge i still have to collect.

I'm studying Business Communication Strategies and just ended up a Master Degree in France, now thinking now about creating a few companies, just for fun and experience.

I've just registered a few days ago here because of the the security flaw which affected Paymimum, Paytunia, Instawire, and Bitcoin Central, and of course Instawallet, where i tried to toy around with some of my coins the exact same week they got potentially hacked in.

Maybe I should propose this company my services and my experience since their communication is a real disaster, almost a case study on how to ruin your online reputation in few days, but on the same time crisis communication has never been an easy task and hopefully they're working hard on fixing their technical issues and less akin to chitchat atm....one can dream haha.

Im sure many new members are on the same situation I'm on, see you in the claim process thread !

EDIT : wow, so many new replies have been posted while typing this post. Glad to be part of this newbies wave!

Kindly,
word of mouth

Afternoon all!

I'm comparatively new to the Bitcoin scene (got in just before BlockChain.info pulled their UK plug) and hoping to play my part in keeping the Bitcoin cogs churning for the UK market.

On a mission to find the best way of purchasing Bitcoin from the UK right now.

I guess I'm late to the party... first thought of Bitcoin when it was $12, and now it's $180.

Better late than never I guess?

Hi,

I've been reading the forum on and off for a while now but have only just started mining a few months ago (no dedicated rigs or anything). I'm interested in btc and altcoins because I like the idea that people can't just print more money like GovCo continue to do. I'm also hoping that trying to understand the workings of it all will spark me back into the nerd world after retiring from it when I finished uni.
