Hi just started mining a week or so ago. Didn't realize the posting restrictions on the forum til now 
Was hoping to find out why i can't connect to Slush's pool right now. GUIMiner is still running, but i can log it to see my stats. i know he just did maintenance but usually i can log right back in after that.

Just getting into Bitcoin stuff, been active since I read about the lame DDoS stuff last week. Am interested in this more from a technical aspect, since I've been looking for some ideas regarding alternate currencies for a while (~18 years or so). I remember hearing about Bitcoin in 2011, but I didn't take it seriously. It's serious now!!!
My "day job" is being a life coach for Everything Wins Life Coaching, as well as teaching Buddhism to a bunch of Buddhism students (one is done to pay the bills, the other because I love doing it... you get to guess which is which).
I just joined Slush's pool, am already at BTC0.001 confirmed using my crappy old laptop with 33.2 MHash/s ... got some good "beginners' luck" with this!
Am on this forum because I saw a question I just asked myself (to someone who shrugged and said "Google it!"), and want to track the answers.
