I suggest to buy ico, why? because the price is definitely cheaper and the price will rise, instead of buying bitcoin the risk of loss will be high because bitcoin prices are difficult to predict.

If you want to strat trading, you can try a small amount on currencies with a low price,  like try to buy 100 coins at the price of 20 cents and sell them at the price of 60 cents or even 1 dollar

it is always better to try with small risks

from the point of view of ROI, ICO looks more promising than bitcoin. But we must understand in which projects it makes sense to invest, in which - no. Therefore, if you want a person not to delve into the crypto industry, it is better to buy bitcoin for a couple of years. This purchase will give you a profit. But I would diversify the risks

I am a newcomer to the crypto market.
Should I invest in ICO projects or would I buy bitcoin to hold and wait for the price? Please give me advice.
Sincerely thank you.
Remember the main rule: diversify your portfolio. For example Hold your investement funds in such proportion:

30% BTC
25% ETH
10% USDT (For buying BTC when it is dumped)
35% divide on 5-10 projects/ICOs you most like

honestly mate both is good if you want to earn profits.  But if i were you if you want to invest in any ICO try to make some research first if the team behind the project is good.  Don't easily fall to invest in any ICO because sometimes there some ponzi ico so much better to make some research first to prevent loses , and also if you want to buy bitcoin now i suggest to hodl it and control your emotions.  Choose long term Instead.

buy bitcoin later if the price will go up again in quick time then it will be promising, but unfortunately quite hard to predict. ICO is better because if successful then the investment incentives could be doubled. so it can be selected between ICO and bitcoin.

why buy later if you can buy it now? the price of bitcoin will always predicted to go up in a latter time , that is why its always a good idea if you purchase it now than regret in the future. ico on the other hand is also profitabe because just like everyone said , you can earn a specific bonus or incentives if you bought the coin in an early stages.  bonuses from an ico is also depends on how early or late you bought the coin. but then again just like anybody said , ico are much risky when compared to other types of investment.

BTC is a less risky investment compared to ICO because it is a listed coin and known in the market.  ICO maybe risky but offers better ROI because there are bonuses that goes with the purchase.  Take the case of TND, it offers 20% discount on the first 3 million and gives you security in your investment by using the Ethereum blockchain. As stated in the abstract paper, "TEND uses the Ethereum blockchain to run its application and to tokenize (i.e. convert and certify) the client assets. The Ethereum technology establishes absolute confidence in the traceability of the co-investments and ownership is recorded on the decentralized, tamper-free ledger."

For all crypto investors, keeping a core position in Bitcoin is very important.
After that, you can start putting some money into any good ICOs.

Split them to 50:50, and spent only money that you afford to lose. Put 50% to several ICO, do not put all of them in one ICO. Learn more about the ICO and look for promising and have a good prospect ICO.

I think it would be better to invest in ICO, but you have to learn a lot first. especially learning to analyze an ICO that has good potential

Always we have to analyse before investing into any ICO because it will take some to get our coins
Find out the best which is more reputable and give more profit to us because if you buy Bitcoin in the present it cannot give much profit.

Exactly although investing in ICO can be more profitable always be careful with some ICO who just want to scam people.

Bitcoin is the king of crypto you can still make profit , it will just depends on the timing.

For ICO it has a lot of work, you need to do more research when investing in ICO, check who are the team behind the coins.

You can start researching here at the forum as there are a lot of coins that has great potential in the future.

Depends on your funds. If you have more funds then better spread it out. Buy BTC and invest in ICOs. If you buy BTC and you want to increase it then it would be better if you would study trading. Trading is profitable if you know how to do it. However, do not expect to be profitable immediately because it takes time to learn. If you can see others who are profitable in trading, they probably spend years studying the market so they know how to manage their emotions. You also have the option to just hold bitcoin and wait for it to grow in value if you don't have that much time to study trading. You would just be purely investing which is the conservative way.

If ever you decide to invest in ICO. Research first about the coin and its developers. In this forum alone, you would have an idea about the pulse of the people about an ICO if you read through their comments in the announcement thread about the ICO. Check its bounty too if there are many participants because the more participants the ICO has, the more in demand it is. Check as well the use case of the coin if there are any competitors or is it a new idea that has potential to solve some problem that would be a big help if used. Read the whitepaper. As cliche as it is, invest only what you can afford to lose.

both are arguably very risky, if ICO followed a scam then it is also dangerous if the price will also fall bitcoin's getting dangerous. However, if seen from the result seems more ICO have as much revenue from the profit of the bitcoin.

In my opinion, it is better to make your own research and trust your guts.

The most of the privacy coins are undervalued right now.

The best opportunity is to find a privacy-related project with a low total supply (less than 100M), that way the price will be increasing much faster.

I recently found one project called Ethereum Meta, it is related to anonymity and untraceable transaction. They have a very interesting project to build the Anonymous E-Market Place.

They are on Pre-ICO stage right now, you can check their website: https://ethermeta.com/
Or even better go through their Bitcointalk thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/future-of-privacy-ethereum-meta-foundation-of-anonymous-e-marketplace-2659058

ICO invested more promising because of course the result of ICO is definitely much bigger and could say definitely get results if the ICO is completed. But if in buying bitcoin won't know what is bitcoin will rise or fall in some time in the future.

I would invest in ICOs only if you have lots of time to do thorough research. Good returns can be made from ICOs however most do not give an ROI and may even lose money so DYOR is vital to success. ICOs are very high risk compared to investing in already existing and proven coins such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Icon, VeChain.
