For beginner just buy Bitcoin or famous coin like eth or xrp, don't just jump to ICO, there are so many things need to be understand before you choose the ICO, you need to read whitepaper, checked the developer team and find a lot of info, unless you want to try buying ICO without searching the information and risking losing all of your money
You can try this two. Because this is helpful to grow your money but investing in ICO should think wise because most of the iCO are not worthless but they have until now ICo are worthy to invest. Make a research if you want to invest to ICO so you can get a lot of information if the project possible to become succcessful or not so your money will be safe. You can buy bitcoin if you want because it is potential coin so that's why you can gain profit from bitcoin.

ICO has more potential to make you more money in the short term. But it requires a lot of work as you must do a lot of research. Right now ICO's do not seem like they are doing as well as they did a few month ago however.
If it is a long term investment, then go Bitcoin. Or go 50-50 and learn about both.

I advise why not do both? Invest in a reliable ICO like VLB and invest in bitcoin at the same time. How much is your capital? This is what we call diversification, you invest not only in one place as the popular saying that you don't put all of your eggs in one basket.
All depends about your money. If you can invest a lot of your monay in cryptocurrency better option will be buy bitcoin. So i can not tell you what is better without know your budget
i wud buy BTC ,alts gona take a dip and btc is going up

Each investment carries the risk of losing. It's the same with bitcoin or ico. Bitcoin has large price fluctuations. In the ico project there is always the possibility that something will go wrong and the project will go down. You should read about it and make your own decision what will be best for you.
You always can diversify your investment. But overall, I think participate in ICO is the best way - you get some good experience for how ICO works.
In my opinion you should buy ETH and then invest it in any perspective ICOs for more profit.
Why you wont invest in Btc aside from eth? Both can be profitable btc and eth that's the best way to diverse our money into a valuable profit. Many Ico's ofcourse somehow doing some delligence in investing an Ico is a big help.

You need to do a research not just one project but all the project you have know or familiar with. This because you will do a comparison later to decide which you one you hvae to choose

Look for a good ICO, don't pick those promising much because it might be a scam, just don't forget to read on their white paper,. You have to do the same thing with this two, hold for a longer period of time to get double profit or sell it to have another type of coin.

In my opinion, it is better to make your own research and trust your guts.
As I see from the market, the most of the privacy coins are undervalued right now.
The best opportunity is to find a privacy-related project with a low total supply (less than 100M), that way the price will be increasing much faster.
I recently found one project called Ethereum Meta, it is related to anonymity and untraceable transaction. They have a very interesting project to build the Anonymous E-Market Place.

Do both, never put all your eggs in 1 basket.
BTC will give you stability, ICOs bigger return but the risk is very high.
If you buy BTC at a good price and split half to an ICO, chances are the growth on the remaining BTC will cover your ICO loss by the time it comes around (if it happens)
Always do solid research in to ICOs, does it offer something unique? what's the team like? research the team on linkedin, google image search their photos, read the white paper and look for flaws, see what the community support is like etc.
