Buying an ICO is quite risky and you will most likely lose all your money if the project is a scam. If you win, withdraw all your investment and leave the profit. Informed and strategic ICO investment is also a way for you to quickly make a lot of profit quickly.
Buying Bitcoin is a safer, longer-term option as its movement pattern is 'Stock to flow'.
I agree on that a lot of ICO's are scam and before we know it they already take our money. So in my part I also trust in btc than ICO because btc is already proven and trusted, there are also ICO's that is good for investment if you know how to choose or pick it so choose the best for good.

btc is good investment and i think it is safe heaven in crypto sphere.
ico concept has disappeared in long time, it was hype back in 2017.
it is rare you will find some reliable project in market where pre sale token by ico, because here even can not raise soft cap.

ico is an old concept that often gets warnings or red flags due to ico scams. many investors are tricked by the team with ico. I think maybe the 2017 incident should be abandoned and switch to btc to be able to get better profits because the ico is not good

I suggest Invest your money in BTC for long term that way you will feel safe regardless your money will be lost. ICOs for those who have portfolio analysis on a project for short-term profits may also be considered. but still we have to choose a safe option is Invest in BTC

For now with the dips in prices, will prefer to buy btc more or may be an altcoins on dips rather than a ICO whose future might be unknow unless you are sure about the future of that project. But most likely if invested in a good coin will yield you a good profits in coming time.

Both options are good but Bitcoin is for anybody and ico only for who know or understand the project very well. May be we go to bitcoin because a project in the market we should believe on this other than project in the making. I will go for both 50% on every side because our new star coin is just in this ico so we can make a big profit from ico as well. This question is all about people's choice.

I think ICOs are very risky for beginners, my advice is to just use bitcoin for now and slowly get used to the others.
It's only risky for beginners but for all the investors, ICO has lost its popularity due to lots of scammers are using the platform to raise money, if I have to choose, I would rather invest in bitcoin and if you like to take advantage of the price volatility, you should buy at dip, like right now.

8% drop today, and it looks like it's gonna dip more.

if given 2 choices between bitcoin and ico maybe now people will leave ico.  because we know ico don't have a good ending reputation, they just end up a scam.  but usually someone is in ico because they haven't analyzed the ico market well, they only see the dark side of promotion not from the other side

If you are good at analyzing the ICO project and you think it is profitable, so you must invest because the profits will be very large, while Bitcoin is certainly more profitable, but in the long term it is different from ICOs which can make big profits for shor term and from the 2 options that have the same risk High risk and high return

A newbie needs to invest in small projects, but you should study this project very well first.
I find it wrong.
A newbie shouldn't invest to small projects but the best intro for them is to invest in bitcoin.
That's the most ideal strategy and thing that a newbie should do. They can expand themselves into projects later on if they have understood the market already.
And getting them in bitcoin is the safest.
In any case, for those who do not have experience and knowledge, first of all, you can buy Bitcoin and Ethereum, as the safest promising cryptocurrencies. Even users with a higher level of experience often make mistakes in new projects, and for a beginner, this is a real loss.
I agree that newbies should follow that advice. Buying bitcoin and ethereum is the option that they can follow as first step.
No problem if they want to deal with newer projects but the chance of being successful with those are little and could be the reason for them to be scammed.

It can be said the two phases are insightful endeavors yet you are in fledgling so don't endeavor ICO theory it is a smidgen unsafe conversely with Bitcoin. Coins are as of now dispatched keeping watch so we should predict the future possibilities yet ICO is a bit extraordinary. A segment of the ICOs is making gigantic advantages anyway not all so you should place assets into Bitcoin or some other altcoins this will make an extraordinary advantage for the future since quite a while ago run.

A newbie needs to invest in small projects, but you should study this project very well first. I must say right away that you shouldn't believe everything that's written in ANN and Bounty topics, you need to double-check everything. Also look for IEO, they are more reliable than ICO, study this issue too (What's the difference). With a small amount, it makes no sense to enter BTC, so stop at small companies. The main thing is to check all the information that the project gives you.

It can be said both stages are wise venture yet you are in novice so don't attempt ICO speculation it is tad hazardous contrast with Bitcoin. Coins are as of now dispatched on the lookout so we ought to foresee the future prospects yet ICO is smidgen extreme. A portion of the ICOs are make immense benefit however not all so you ought to put resources into Bitcoin or some other altcoins this will make great benefit for future long run.

In 2017 ICO was very profitable, but nowadays it's tough to find out a good ICO. Most of the ICO cant able to reach their soft cap or it does scams with people's funds. so why people lost hope in ICO. now people try to join IEO and it's very profitable also(there is also risk available).
Personally, I will suggest you buy BTC and hold. also, try to learn cryptocurrencies trade. Besides holding BTC and doing trade you may earn a good amount of money.
It seems that everyone admits that the heyday of the ICO is 2017 which has provided something very fantastic if we can say that because almost all ICO projects are successful and very profitable and rarely provide little profit, so of course many are trying to find artificial profits By doing and making ICO projects that are only for fraudulent purposes, there is nothing lasting that any success is sure to make people deceive. whereas the ICO is very promising and hopefully it can recover.

ICOs began to be abandoned and finally emerged an IEO with a renewable system with the aim that there would be no fraud and it could run well, but it seemed the same at first it could be relied on but here also there were a lot of frauds, even finally a defi that appeared at the beginning was very promising and indeed proved again, that people always prepare themselves to always be able to cheat, which results in a definition that is no different from the others.

choose to drop to bitcoin !!! of course it is very wise to be done but there is a problem that should not be ignored that currently bitcoin is too high and requires large funds to invest in bitcoin, only large traders who would dare to do that, it seems unlikely for others.

If you are a newcomer, you may choose both ICO and BTC, before that you have enough budget not to invest both of them, because if I choose the right ico, there will be greater profits than BTC, my advice is to play safe in crypto, let alone investing just select btc so that for a little at least it doesn't harm us
What must be done for a beginner is as much as possible to play it safe first and they have to learn everything related to crypto because knowledge is also very important,
if talking about investment, of course a good coin is ethereum and bitcoin, both of these coins need not be doubted
Newbies shouldn't invest in ICOs, it is insecure and we know there is no quality new project right now. ICO is not the same as before, you only lose money and not too great benefits now. BTC is a suitable investment for everyone.

Before, or rather in a better condition, a good ICO have the tendency of giving  a very good profit which can be used to buy Bitcoin but in reality now, ICO have a greater chances of taking the funds you have thus leaving you with nothing as well as no funds to buy Bitcoin. Therefore, considering the current circumstances, it is better buying Bitcoin and be safe from most unnecessary risks, unless a new trend starts just like that of DeFi, and you were able to make enough gains, then buying Bitcoin would be a nice idea.
Lastly, another reason that makes Bitcoin worthwhile for buying this time around is owing to the types of attention and investors coming in, hence holding for long term would be a nice idea but first know the right time to buy in.
