it is not about being a newbie in the industry because there are lots of veterans and people who knows the industry well got scammed by the ICO's, but it is really better to invest with bitcoin rather than gamble to ICO's that there was no assurance to return your capital.

Do not invest in ICO now because this still the bear market is going on and if you invest the at the end of ICO while it will listed in the exchange you will loss al your value because suddenly the market will reflect on the price. So, it is far better to but Bitcoin as it is now in a lucrative price but do not invest all at once. At every decline invest a small amount.
