Everyone that joined cryptocurrency community in the past two three years must have learnt that earning or making profits from cryptocurrency doesn't at all depend on the duration of hodling. It is a matter of Know the bear and the bull run and selling and buying at the appropriate time.
In cryptocurrencies, long term investment, 4 years and more, are meant for Blue Chips or the top 20 cryptos, for short term investment, 3 years and below, you may choose from the most promising cryptos.

There is long term investment and that of short term as well so you chose which one you want based on your needs. I prefer long term investment because the price is not highly affected in the long run.
Sometimes, while in investing in some projects i don't tend to stay long . After the the price is about the ICO price i sell. But you have to look at the project development and the use cases if it worth a long term. There are alot of projects that did more than just a pump but moon.

I think for now if you invest in bitcoin, you don't have to wait long to make a profit because if you check on the market, bitcoin price changes every day. I see that if the price is down this week, then in the next week, the price can increase higher and that means, you only need to wait for a week to see the price increase. After that, you can sell the bitcoin to make a profit, or you can wait for another day to sell, but it is better to take the profit first because there is no guarantee for the price to increase in a few days later.

When I invest, I never sell them too soon. Usually I hold for a long time and sell when I have a profit of 50-100%. It will depends on what project you invest on. If the project is fast developing, you won't need much time to wait.
Patience is what investors need to have. Some peoples doesn't have much patience, so they choose to become a trader.
There are short term investments available as well. Nobody says that investing in long term is better and anybody should take whatever is better for him. Anyways, if you are happy with 20 percent profit from each coin, you can trade only short terms.
That is true. You can still gain even if the market is down. Because there is what we called short selling or buying. Bitmex is the one that I knew that has short selling. Even if the market is down, you still make a profit in short selling.

That's not the main thing that we can take from OP's explanation. What i can take from OP if when we are investing in an altcoin or bitcoin when we can get or our position already in the profit and we must go out as fast as possible. Op means if this doesn't need long term expectation for our portfolios and basically, this is the right way to invest in crypto. Go out from the market when we have already in profit.

Usually, as long as I already reach my goal even though it's on small amount. I will just take it whatever it would be in the future like the price would rise up after I sell or not. Investments take time to give profits to you if you are your real investor then you need to wait for your investment to grow and give you the profit if you just expecting profit from the next day of your investment you are probably going to lose your capital by simply cashing out and then reinvesting by multiple times in short time period.
