My advices are: split your money into at least 4-5 altcoins, do not panic in each decrease in value of altcoin (even buy some more in some cases) and be patient.

My advice would be to look for ways to garner passive income. Examples of these would be coins that allow masternodes or proof-of-stake coins. I don't know much about what masternode coins are good ones to get in on. Although for PoS coins I would recommend ETHD (just take a look at their thread) and PoSToken, the latter being the first ERC20 PoS token and having no ICO, but offering their tokens out through an airdrop.

Free tokens has to be some good advice

The crypto world has always been volatile. Many people don't know this and tend to overreact. The best way to earn profits in this world is long term trading(Buy and HODL all the way). This is no secret. It all depends on how long you are willing to wait to earn money.

Welcome to the wonderful world of crypto.
Short time poster - long time lurker.

What I have seen is basically all the people that tell you to buy and hold are correct.
It's *very* easy to get caught in the hype of a fancy new coin or some new project. But in the end, its not really about the flash or glamor. Its mostly about the tech. If it is good tech with good development that are willing to run the marathon - not the sprint - then the coin will survive whatever the market can throw at it.

Maybe this is a bubble. Hell if I know.
What I do know is that there have been people who are discontented with the way banking/finance is going. Then there are also people who are doubters because their money is tied up in the current system.

This whole sphere has been called a bubble. And honestly may be called that until the current system is gone.

Find something you like and learn about it. This isnt a get rich quick thing. You can, but there are also thousands of people in the cryptosphere who want to do this aswell.

Dont invest more than you are willing to lose.

At the same time - no risk = no reward.

All the best!

My advice is to get into a coin that offers masternodes EARLY. and get enough coins to set up a masternode. that way its very hard to lose!

Top advice here  Grin   See https://masternodes.pro for masternode ROI info. If you see a low masternode count (or low circulation) then it's probably a good time to get in.

eg LINDA is new coin, and that can generate 200K free LINDA on a good day (like for my MN yesterday) - it was probably extreme luck.. But that coin is pretty cool, it was only 3 satoshi a few weeks ago, and it can't go lower than 1 satoshi.. So it has a very solid growth potential that uses the 8 decimal place limit of Bitcoin to some advantage!

With China news, and panic in the market. Is there is any returns on investment for new comers . For eg Ethereeum was $40  6 months back look at now.

earlier days the ICO offerings were cheap. Nowadays and recent ICO  tokens average around a dollar. I meant he Real , BMC etc tokens.

Not sure if we will make money in this risky market, as new comers bring in or pump in hard earned money. Old players are like playing in casino exchange coins from what they bought years ago . They do not feel the pinch as well worry about value, or need to do more homework on understanding the ICO for investment purposes.

Newcomers are walking in a thin rope i ffeel. I am not pessimistic but that's just my feeling. Not much of wiggle room to play as profits are far less than marketed.

i won't advise you to invest in big amount for the ico but i can suggest to invest your money in bitcoin. although bitcoin price is volatile but at least, in the end the price will recover and get new price. beside that if we want to invest our money to the ico, we need more info before investing in the ico and there is no guarantee that the ico will success.

Yes, there is still a lot of good opportunities. May be wise to look for ICO's that are working with local authorities, are established in "ICO friendly" countries, do not ask for a ton of money, have some version of a product to show & a clear roadmap, promising project, friendly & approachable team, capable team (preferably already delivered some projects) etc.

For example, I'm currently waiting for SocialX ICO to start in a few weeks (SocialX.network) - I believe it has or will have all the things above before they start their ICO.

My advice regarding ICO investments is before investing your hard earned money just study about the possible future potential  of the project . The other thing is you need to make sure that the ICO is not a scam by doing a investigation on your level with the available resources. Its very important. And finally invest what you can afford to loose.

My only advice: Don't stick too long with one coin.

If it reach your take profit line, be happy and sell it.

I have seen many cool projects that I hope I can buy and hold them forever like SC, STRAT, BTS, NEO... but no. I end up selling them after a massive dump.

In every investment and trading you must do research first before joining any kind of bitcoin and altcoin twist but if you think you are not very sure of what you are trying to join then just invest only what you think you can afford to lose so that if times of failure it will not hurt you that much.

the simplest and strongest investment strategy is always the long-term hold position...
so just buy bitcoins, and forget about it at all... put the coins into your paper wallet, stick the private key to your passport...
maybe after 3 years ... re-check the price... unless there is world war, i guess you will make more profit than most investors, and miners

That's why we need to always inform them that self education is the best. Specially if you are planning to trade.

Even with ICO's that sounds promising sometimes it will not just work out. Always be careful on where you are going to put your money.Try to research the company or the developer.

I read here that you need to check group messenger and i actually do that to but on my facebook. You may also join some group in facebook.

If you don't brave enough to take even a smallest risk, then don't.
But remember, take a risk will leads you to success life. It's worth the trouble.

Trade with your own risk.
Patience is the key to success.

-> Investments were always risky regardless of ETH or any other coin.People play smart thereby taking big risks.Like you said old players don't need to worry what happens to the market because the risks taken have turned out to be positive.

-> No-one really gives a shit about new comers. You play it smart ,you take the risks you profit. No one is asking to buy ETH,there are lot of other alt-coins which can be purchased  in the early phase.

This is a good sinthesys. Consider that all what you won't learn by understanding how it works BEFORE to act, you will understand later by the way of pain. Everybody here got screwed at some point in one way or another. And most of us have learned the lesson...
