They all have different use cases, bitcoin was the first to come and the one that gave birth to all of the rest, it's evolved over the years and it's gaining more and more popularity, no other alt with similar use cases will be able to replace bitcoin, there may be or perhaps most surely will be alts that will be by the side of bitcoin even price wise in the future with their relevant use cases but bitcoin won't be replaced nor will it fall, don't buy in the food, crypto currencies have a looong way to grow..

Full disclosure, I don't think it's either the best or the one that will prevail in the end. There is too much drama llama and too many parties trying to manipulate it in one way or another. Technology-wise it's okay and fits the bill but it is the first version and by far it's not the best.

However it wouldn't be the first time and inferior technology won due to various outside factors.

At this point in time, I don't really mind or care which one of them wins. They all have cool things about them and winning is all relative.

We'll have a crypto for storage (potentially bitcoin), a crypto for spending (IOTA maybe?) A crypto for programmable money (perhaps ETH) and that's really swell I think.

Trying to make one crypto to fit all needs can be a bad idea. Diversity is good!

Well, Technological wise too, bitcoin is better than altcoins. Other coins might have increased the blocksize to reduce txn fees and txn time. But then, u cant really compare them with bitcoin cause they dont have the volume and traffic as huge as Bitcoin. They might look good now, but if they face volume as huge as btc, they might come up with hundres of new problems.

Now, u said , u are not talking on basis of price, well, u should, cause its an important factor, Bitcoin's huge marketcap will only help it in reaching the masses, make it more and more decentralised in all way possible and making it robust and more immune to manipulation by big n powerful , rich institutions and individuals.

Investing in icos or newly listed coins are still giving a reasonable return on investment even in this lingering bear market. But you need to choose carefully which to invest in.

IMO, Bitcoin is the one that give you good returns in the long term. It is recommended to diversify and also invest in potential Altcoin and ICO projects. By investing in the right Altcoin and ICO projects will bring you many folds profits.

Since I have just started my crypto venture, I was still learning and trying to figure out how to earn and increase my portfolio.
If you can afford it, now is the time to buy BTC. And hold it for as long as you can.
However, from what I can see, Altcoins give a higher and quick turnaround.
The challenge is finding which Altcoin to invest on.

in long term: bitcoin
in short term: shitcoins.

it is obvious that bitcoin has a very strong long term potential and since its market is a lot bigger than altcoins then it is extremely hard to manipulate (pump and dump) it so the profit is purely based on real adoption and that profit is strong in the long run since it will surely go up and not come down in the long run. for instance last year it was $1000 and now it is $6000 so that is 6x profit in the long run.

for altcoins there is no real adoption but only speculation. and because their markets are small and they are easy to manipulate (pump and dump) you get a lot of good opportunities to make a lot of profit in short term which is their pump period.

Second you on this. What the altcoin projects will not really tell you is that they are truly struggling for adoption. Even Ethereum's adoption is only due to ERC20 tokens, 100% a speculation market. The only real apps working on them now are gaming apps like cryptokitty.

Even Ripple was recently begging people to please use their tokens. They gave away so much XRP (not that it matters since it cost them nothing) but even they know no one is using it.
currently developing capabilities that are owned by Altcoin enough to increase. so it is very good to invest in ALtcoin today because its development is able to produce much greater profits. other than that with the price is very good affected.

If you want to get a bigger return, invest in ICO, because ICO is a channel for high returns.
HyperQuant is a good enough project, and I advise you not to miss it if you want to participate in ICO. Roll Eyes

Which coin gave you more return? Investment on Alts or ICOs or BTC? I have been holding BTC for a long time and I want to expand my portfolio. I have ETH holdings as well. I tried trading with many coins but never made of it. The reason I don't want to invest on alts is that those companies will create FOMO and make people buy and after buying you will be rekted.
The answer will be absolutely altcoin, i have participated in the zilliqa ico and it has been giving me about more than 70x return since ico price. It's too late to invest in the bitcoin right now. you are forgetting the fact you should go out as fast as possible before the coin will get another dump and i thought that you must remember this one.

If I want to invest in ICO I make sure the ICO is good enough and innovative in project development that is done and communicative to all people and participants so we know the progress so we are safe in investing in their ICO, but if want to be safe and long term I choose Bitcoin.
it is depend in time in which these two would be worth it to invest. we know that the bitcoin ia worth it in just hding in a months but for the alter coins it is in a many months or years. it stll the bitcoin is prth I because when the price exploding of the bitcoin it is really give a big profit that each of us make smile. so for me, It I bitcoin that worth it in the investment.

If you pursue greater profits, then I suggest you invest in altcoin.
However, you need to keep in mind that greater returns mean greater risks, so you need to be careful.
