Is investing just buying and holding? I am a little bit confused between investing and trading. Anyway, thank you for answering my question. It is a great help for a beginner like me. I’m actually scared that’s why I asked here in forum.

Well investing can mean buying and holding. If you are not an experienced trader, it is better to buy and hold.

As for your question on investment strategy. It is good to diversify your investment portfolio. As for how much to invest in each coin, it depend on the risks you are willing to take. With more % on BTC, the risk is lower.

As you are completely new here on the crypto platform I would suggest you to put your stakes on the bitcoin at this movement. Its not worthy to go straight into the ICO investment as you will have to learn many things about it first so that you can know how to invest into it safely.

Anyway for now you can choose many of the coins which are currently out there in the top list because they too have the dominance over the newly formed ICO projects. So better to focus on the coins which are already in the market.

Is there any coin you can suggest? There are too many coins. It’s so hard to choose the right one. Would you mind sharing your experience if you have any?

If you are looking for an long term investment then bitcoin is the best for you because the price of bitcoin will be huge in some years.The altcoin and ICO investments are mostly for short term you can earn good profit in short term but if you picked the wrong coin then you will lose your investments so better to invest on bitcoins.

I would like to say you form my experience that invest in BTC and don't ever turn towards altcoins. There will be people who will say you to diversify your coins and buy some altcoins but Bitcoin is going bullish these days and making the altcoins drop in price massively. See the prices on coinmarketcap and you can notice that many altcoins have dropped 20% in price. You don't want that right ? It is better to invest in BTC as it is enough to give you a good profit in future. The forks are additional bonuses to your money.

First of all, you should try to learn as much about cryptocurrencies as possible. You should check the coinmarketcap to see the movement, supply, and 24 hour volume of the major coins. And, after that you will know enough about the cryptos in general. That will help you in deciding.
I would recommend you to check out some good altcoins that you might find interesting. The altcoin Iota seems interesting, and within just few weeks it might reach 20$ per coin. Other alts like, ETH,and Monero are also some good coins for investment.

Remember:
Do not invest all your money into 1 or 2 coins. You should invest half of your money into Bitcoin and other half into altcoins. So in that way you can have some good profits.

invest 5000 in mid cap coins, so OMG/NEO/LTC

and then some more risky ones like SNM would be beneficial.

If you want to play it very safe but wont see 100x gains then just put in ETH/BTC/LTC/XMR
youll for sure make some money by next year

For now, my advice for you is not to put all eggs in one nest. In this industry, there are different investment strategies in this industry. Some people are investing purely on Bitcoin only. They are accumulating lots of Bitcoin and holding it for long term. Some are doing short term trading wherein they will by altcoin on a cheaper price and will sell it immediately if there is a recent increase. Another strategy is hording different altcoins and holding it also for long term. I suggest that you make your own research about it and find out which investment strategy is the best for you.
