I believe to total (new) IOTA token supply is: 2779530283277761

Is this amount enough to support the machine to machine economy?

Of course, 640 KB memory will be enough for everyone.

Yes we believe so, even with billions of devices transacting you will still easily be able to make micro-transactions with this quantity.

Launch date will be announced tomorrow night.
GUI and website will also come tomorrow ~noon in Europe/early morning US as there was a delay in some files that didn't arrive in time, and while we could technically launch both in about an hour or two it would make no sense as the majority of people are asleep/going into inactive mode.

In the meanwhile everyone should line up to help with documentation and PoCs which I have requested for months now, without it we won't get dev adoption and a handful of people can't do it all alone.

Thank You for lovely news!

Well done!

Great news finally it starts.

I also have some unredeemed IOTA tokens from NXT AE; what's the best way of redeeming them?

I am the owner of IOTA 10966270007977442520.
Just wait for the official launch to redeem.

PS : My asset is still shows old IOTA because I cannot change the units on the asset.

Can old IOTA still be converted to new IOTA?

There are no old iotas. They don't exist anymore.

Every seller still trying to sell old iotas now is a potential scammer in my eyes. Be careful.

You are going to have to ask the AE token seller.  This wasn't official.  There were 2-4 of such assets created.

Roll Eyes as it seems, it won't be rare to see people receiving "new" iotas in "old" iotas denomination... do your homework guys!

You will just receive

225,000  x 2779531 = NEW IOTAS YOU GET.

I have the same question. I'm currently in an escrow deal, wondering if GUI launch tomorrow is safe for us to initiate IOTA transfer or will it reset?

BTW if someone sends me 'old IOTA' to the address in GUI, will it automatically convert to new?

Today We will test GUI and after that will be possible to say our next steps.

It's not possible to send old IOTAs, We have only new IOTAs

Someone is trying to make a deal in terms of 'old IOTA'. How does that work then?

He shouldn't, he should only use new iotas, old iotas died months ago. I wonder why people still hang on to it.

1 BTC gets you around 100-200 Gi at the moment.

edit: remember to use escrow! (I should make this my sig)

Can old IOTA still be converted to new IOTA?
"old" or "new", iotas are always iotas. no risk of losing or token conversion. it is only a matter of "demonimation": 1 old IOTA is now equal to 2779531 new IOTA. please, check http://forum.iotatoken.com/t/iota-tech-update/264

So someone is selling me 225,000 old iota. But how will he send it because users here are saying that only new iota can be sent? I'm fully confused now
