I still have a few IOTA's left. Sold a little below ath so fine with me.

Didn't have any reasons to buy back in yet...somehow the projects lacks something and I read too much crap about it all the time.

I also don't think this will suddenly go x20 or something......I was very enthusiastic around Oct/Nov/Dec...but recently I even forgot to check up on the project every once a while.

The projects lacks what? This project has everything in it to become top 3 soon. That's where it belongs, because, next to BTC and ETH, it's definitely the most innovative platform.

Great presentation on how the technology landscape will change as IOT becomes ubiquitous in our lives and how DLTs will need to adapt to the demands. Presenter: Terry Shane, Founder of the bIOTAsphere in Toronto, and CEO of Refined Data Solutions.

Also I have wondered if they could ever add the coordinator back later. I think that is a concern that some people have because if they can add the coordinator back at any time, then it’s never really decentralized. That’s not particularly a concern of mine, but I have heard that expressed by others.

They can. But it's up to the network participants to decide which environment (coordinated/uncoordinated) they want. Dominik had a long talk here about the coordinator: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1XMobDJpS0 Starts around the one hour mark, but it's well worth watching the whole thing or at least the AMA with Dominik.

IOTA was very popular at one time. Everyone talked about it too. and was very confident. but it is not mentioned right now.

You just mentioned it.

In general people need to show way more patience, especially with IOTA. They are creating something really big here, the 4th industrial revolution, this can't be done overnight. They are not trying to force things, they don't hype things (too much), they just do their work, get big companies and world-class experts on board and create a whole new ecosystem. They established the IOTA Foundation in Germany, which is one hell of a job regarding all the regulatory things that are needed. Setting up this whole infrastructure of the Foundation is a tiresome process, with a lot of paper work and a lot of resources and time have been spent on it the last weeks.

There is lots of things in the pipeline: Trinity, Q, new website, Hub IXI, meet-ups, PEAQ, Fujitsu will live-present a use-case at the Hannover Messe in April, Dominik will speak at the Huawei Blockchain Conference, loads of people, companies, universities are developing things with and around IOTA. I don't know any other project, that is already that firmly established in the real world.

There might not be a lot of talk about IOTA here or in the crypto-space in general, but if you look for the bigger picture, IOTA is well-known and valued for those people and companies, who really matter and bring Blockchain-/Tangle-technology forward to the real world.

There are several things happening with IOTA this year that should make it more relevant:

1) The Trinity wallet should solve everyone’s concerns about the current IOTA wallet and I’ve heard that it has some really good features.

2) Later this year the IOTA foundation may eliminate the coordinator which will make IOTA more decentralized.

3) Several projects they are working on will begin to go live.

I think when these things happen, IOTA will turn a corner and live up to the hype.

For 2, I think the end of year timeline is making the coordinator opensource. I'm fairly certain that the removal is a moving target that will be based on how much the network grows as that's the main issue, it's not a technical issue that needs a certain number of devs hours--though there will be work that needs done to prep when the network is large enough. Last I read is that they will have two tangles and users can migrate to the coordinatorless one until the old one is shut down permanently.

Interesting, so how would we migrate our coins? Would we need to create a new seed and send our IOTA coins to that receiving address, or would we just reattach to that alternate Tangle?

Also I have wondered if they could ever add the coordinator back later. ATM there is no better project for IOT. There may be projects that are further along in a different sector, but that's comparing apples to oranges. The only comparison you should make is with coins that have a legitimate chance at feeless scalability, everything else is noise.
