I don't know why but I always thought that it is about project, not any bounties or something like this. But now I understand how wrong I was

By the way, guys, today I found this interview http://forklog.net/mass-network-and-online-advertising-transformation/. It is indeed impressive.

Not clear - "Alexei Oschepov" or "Alexei Oschepkov" is correct. Its wrong either in article or website. And why the link to LinkedIn profile for Alexei Oschepov on the MassNetwork website gives only an error...  Undecided
Broken link?

Is this the only one thing you caught up from interview? Grin
I think that it is "the most important" question regarding Mass  Roll Eyes

Definitely Grin. The rest is pretty much clear Smiley

@MASS

Does the level of ICO fund raising affect the roadmap and/or speed of delivery of this project? i.e. If the ICO was to fall below your expectations how would that impact the project?

However, massnetwork, what global planns do you have?

We will publish the detailed roadmap soon. It will consist o two parts. Part 1 aims to present the organizational approach (how development and risk are to be handled at least during the time before the launch of the consumer module). Part 2 aims to describe the city-by-city plan. It is essential trying to achieve critical mass asap (having many installations from both advertisers' and consumers' side in one geo area). Advertising is one of the most CONVENIENT double-sided markets in this respect because it is very "local: in its nature—it exploits web's ability to reach people but still does it mostly locally, just like traditional media. Unlike in the case of payment systems, for example, we can steadily go from one place to another without having to attract a lot of users worldwide.
What countries are going to cover?

We have people who are familiar with US, EU and Russian/Ukranian/Kazakh markets. Looking for people in China, India, Indonesia.
Well, what positions do you offer to them?

Not "position" but regional voting power. Mass is not a corporation. We're finalizing the management framework based on voting block-chain-based tokens. This will be kind of a reasonable, real-world version of a DAO. We suppose that the main ideological failure of the DAO concept as we know it now is in using the full-scale democracy at the infant stage of the management concept itself. It only works after the management system has been through many preliminary stages. For instance, European democracy of the current humanitarian shape it has, it first has gone through the periods of very limited voting rights, later to high-income-taxpayers quotas.

Regionally capable people will receive their managing votes based only on the local competition. Say, Indonesia's quota is 2% (based on global advertising market share). To win part of those 2% votes one has to compete with Indonesian candidates only. Same level candidate who targets a global management quota of 5% dedicated to user interface division will have to compete globally, so having some local expertise is a cool factor to join Mass management and development team.
Hm, that is interesting. But I wanted to know what these people are supposed to do. What competence will they have?
Do you want to apply?  Grin
Noo, I don't think so. I am not very big expert at all. That is just interesting to me.
Dude, do you know what joke is?

Thanks for this answer. It got me much closer to understanding the whole picture.

So, if you are anonymous and do a lot of refreshes you will get 5-10 small payments and after that you won't get any ads in your feed.
...
in case website detects any cheat attempts (e.g. refreshing pages, autosurfing, etc...), it will stop offering you paid ads.

This sounds especially nice. I see the picture of the future ('brave new world' heh) where ads become of big a value to user, so cheaters are punished by depriving them of ads Grin

Haha. Sounds good J

If a user (or his bot) constantly presses "Refresh" on the page (once per 1 sec), to add more views and fill his pockets with MASS, will your browser (or browser extension) filter out such "refresh" attempts..? What if he refreshes the page once per 10 minutes?

Two aspects are to be clarified.

1. User data. When websites buys user profile (or part of it), it gets access to it. This information could be saved and bound to session id or cookies, that's why there are no reasons for website to buy your profile again. So, your user agent won't get new payment on refresh. But it can be paid later, when you upgrade your profile, or you decide to share more details of your profile with website.

2. Most advertisers are interested in buying unique impressions and set limits to 3-5 impressions for one user. That's today's RTB world, where impression price is extremely low! In Mass world impressions cost much more, so one advertiser won't order more impressions for such "refreshing" user. Your payment amount depends on your profile, advertisers won't pay a lot for anonymous profiles. So, if you are anonymous and do a lot of refreshes you will get 5-10 small payments and after that you won't get any ads in your feed.

If you have advanced profile with signed tags, your profile looks to be respectable, you will be paid more for each ad impression. Nevertheless, in case website detects any cheat attempts (e.g. refreshing pages, autosurfing, etc...), it will stop offering you paid ads.

Of course, we know that there will be a lot of fraud attempts, but we expect good profile price to be too expensive for cheaters. It will be very expensive to create Mass bots...

У вac ecть кaкaя нибyдь cтpaтeгия пo пpeoдoлeнию дaннoгo кoнфликтa интepecoв?

You write about the conflict of interests between advertisers and internet users, and you make a good point! If you pay people for watching advertisements they will be more interested in watching them (and making money), but the advertiser wouldn't want to pay for such views.

First of all, nowadays banner or any other ads impression costs too few, and most businesses expect bots share to  be higher than 30%. We are going to make impression price higher and to give advertiser tools for better ads targeting. Less impressions on the web, less fraud/bots, higher price.

Advertisers won't pay a lot to completely anonymous accounts. Moreover, most advertisers will require your unique Mass user ID to be verified and having one or more signed tags, which will proof something about you. For example, if you are a BMW driver, you will get a signed tag (certificate) about that, and advertisers will pay you for viewing special offers for BMW owners.

We expect millions of tags to be created  by Mass partners, and each tag will tell something important about owner. Everyone could create his own tag and give it to other people. For example, "has Bitcointalk Full Member account", "lives in London" or just "likes cats".

If a user (or his bot) constantly presses "Refresh" on the page (once per 1 sec), to add more views and fill his pockets with MASS, will your browser (or browser extension) filter out such "refresh" attempts..? What if he refreshes the page once per 10 minutes?
