The bitcoin is safe in my eyes and maybe even safer than any other currency in the online world.
It has a great future its growing very fast and is also self controllable so you can a sort of protect it yourself...

If you keep your bitcoins in a secure offline wallet, they should be secure. The only risk should be the price dropping and you lose money on it. If you keep your money on an exchange, you are taking a risk of losing it through fraud or the site going bankrupt or getting hacked.

Moreover if you have a 2 factor authentication then you even can sleep by having your laptop opened throughout the night. I think online wallets with 2-FA are the safest ones and better than offline ones.

It is possible that your password as well as your email get compromised. I can sleep tight only because a thief would have to open a bank safe to get my bitcoins.
I think it is mean safe by new users is not it? of course bitcoin wallet can be said quite safe because you can provide authentication but who so doubt by many people is it bitcoin can survive in the future? because I'm sure the new users certainly have fear if bitcoin die in the middle of the street?

Bitcoin is safe to me of course there are chances that you will get hacked or scammed but you can also make it so that it does not happen to you.
If you do not attract any unwanted attention and just to your thing on Bitcoin then I am sure that nothing will happen to you.
With handing our personal account here in bitcoins we should always exercise caution because there are a lot of scammers hand hackers here just observing, the whole system of bitcoins are safe so the lose must be due to our negligence.

Putting you password in a bank safe is too expensive that having it 2FA, I am doing 2FA with all my accounts and never experience any hacking problem. all my accounts in trading sites have 2FA and including my important email addresses that link to my accounts.

I see that discussion is about safety of wallets, but i think that the topic question is about of whether investing in Bitcoin is safe.
In fact, Bitcoin is still in experimental phase, so it is hard to say that it is completely safe.
To be honest, at the moment, more important it is the belief that Bitcoin succeeds. Wink
Yeah I mean a wallet is only as safe as you make it. A password protected wallet is safer than a wallet in your pocket though is what I believe. The investing is safe imo now that halving is around the corner.

it is correct a digital wallet is more secure than a wallet in our pocket, a robber can rob the wallet in our pocket but they don't know about our digital wallet and so they are protected.

Web wallets are prone to a similar case like MTGOX saga since we are not holding our private keys here.

Whatever the wallets we preferred let's be cautious. It's still better to use offline wallet since you are the only one to blame if ever the money will got lost.

It's far more not hurtful than all your coins are lost because of using third party.

On a small research , I will explain how bitcoins are much safer than other currencies.

See when you send someone money from your PP account then you are always vulnerable as he knew your ID, but with bitcoins you do not have to worry because that address is useless without the private key.

I think Bitcoin have to be safe because it will be the future payment method and that would be nice if there will be many people that is going to use it but you are not for sure what will happen. And that is the problem but Bitcoin itself is safe and it have to be because many people are using it.

What is safe by the way? You working in any organisation is it guaranteed to ever making money, you studying something what if after 10 years it has not much demand, you having business does it guaranteed returns. As such nothing is 100% sure shot but yes if you believe in something you go for it and enhance your skill in the process.

Well bitcoin is so safe if you have many bitcoin better to choose a wallet i mean safe wallet that you can store it for a long time..

You are right but i think that if you holding huge amount of money better to use more than one wallet, cause if one of your wallet is hacked, you will not lose everything.

Put it in different baskets. That is what they say. Safer although you dont see a lot of profit from rising when you combine it there will still be some. Others think the other way because they want to see the large profit in it.

putting in different baskets or in other words spreading your investment is not just about having multiple investments but you have to invest in just a couple of them which you can trust and keep track of. because making multiple investments can lead to multiple disasters if you are not aware of all of them at all times.
It should also mean that we need to invest in different industry, in that way if something bad happen to a specific industry we can still continue to live with our other investments.

no one can guarantee your money will be safe in bitcoin, but as far as my view bitcoin very safe for the moment and the next few years. I can not say will be forever safe, because anything can happen.

In my opinion there are still risk in bitcoin.Technology are improving and so are hackers and other digital thief. As of now, there this DAO fiasco, hope they mitigate the damage so that not to incur more losses.
Well, I don't know much about DAO so I will not comment. But personally I feel it is highly impossible for anyone to guess the private key for a particular address and if you are not having malwares in your PC , no one can brute force the long key with guesses.
I think DAO is recovering as evidence by the price increase, in every system there is not perfect on it, hackers will find a way to get in to your system but what is important is you need to improve the system to protect your client or holders of coins. That is part of the risk but can be mitigated.

Yesterday I have got USB wallet for bitcoins from some campaign as a present and it looks like that way for keeping bitcoins is more saved than to hold it on some online wallet. But only future will show is it really works or now and maybe online wallet is more safe.

I think yours is safer. It is just the life of the usb which you should be worried. Many online wallets now are suddenlg closing withouy notice scamming people in the process. Online wallets are just cool because it is a way to make trading faster.
