Hey - at least they resolved the issue and the funds were delivered. 48 hours later
I agree. Moreover, 48 hours is an instant by the standards of financial companies. Usually, such issues can be resolved for up to a month.

So they took my TUSD and exchanged it but it's been held for 15 hours due to "technical issues" with the wallet.
That sucks. I'd be okay with that if they fixed the rate when you made the exchange, but if they don't then it really is annoying. Technical issues card is really shady too if it keeps showing up here and there. Hopefully they don't play KYC card with you.
The assured me it isn't a KYC issue, that the exchange had taken place, and there were technical issues with sending the dai. I just did a tusd to dai and it took 2 minutes. I think they got trapped with the quoted rate and did the exchange and don't have their dai maybe (really tight supply due to yield farming). $20K is a decent amount of money and they clearly aren't telling me the entire story. I would NEVER use this exchange again. Never had a problem with any of the dex - just did changelly as tusd isn't quite as common in defi and the rate was better. Not sure why anyone would use them after something like this. Not like I used a non-reusable address.
lol - this is s the latest after I told them i just did an identical transaction with my wife's account:
""Dear Customer,

Thank you for your query.

The issue affected the old transactions only (1-3 days old ones), all the current DAI payouts are going through smoothly.

As for your case, it is examined now.

Please kindly wait until any news appears. :

lol - right

Did they start requiring KYC?  I haven't used them in quite some time and won't be henceforth if they do require it.

That's the problem. They don't require it. Until they do. That's when you get trapped in their loop. And if they don't like your KYC then I distinctly remember them saying they reserve the right to keep your funds.

https://thenextweb.com/hardfork/2018/09/04/monero-profiled-suspicious-exchange/

That may well be for angelic reasons and no doubt they get a lot of piss taking but one can never be fully sure.

I wouldn't put money through somewhere that left that situation hanging over me.

Using changelly certainly was a one time mistake for me.
I'm letting you know, because I whish somebody would've told me before...
I know this thread is a little old, but usually they operate smoothly--and I'm basing that simply from my dozen or so transactions with them--however, they can and do mess things up from time to time.  Fortunately their customer service isn't as bad as, say, Yobit's but there's definitely some room for improvement as far as I'm concerned.

Changelly are another place that springs KYC on you out of nowhere and have openly stated they will keep your money if they decided you haven't 'passed'.

All of this seems to be just a missunderstanding. Most exchanges will give you a one time use address to make your deposit. They will record the first transaction id as your deposit even if not confirmed. If you do a RBF, you basically create a new transaction id and cancel the first one. Your deposit will not be credited even if the second transaction gets thousands of confirmations.
However, their reply that recovering your funds may take 20 days is what concerns me.
I know Changelly is a reputable exchange but 20 days to fix a problem caused by changing the transaction id because of RBF seems odd and very ver odd. It usually takes few minutes to fix this.

I certainly have some serious doubts as to the integrity of their operations. I exchanged TUSD for DAI knowing DAI was 4pct off it's peg and fully intended to leverage that. So they took my TUSD and exchanged it but it's been held for 15 hours due to "technical issues" with the wallet. Meanwhile all other ERC20 tokens are working fine. Now it's down 1pct and likely falling while they continue to assure me it will be resolved. It was a pretty large amount. Sure looks like they are playing the spread on a stable coin that's off it's peg. Not very cool in my opinion, nor very ethical. Stay away.

Supersonic swaps for your digital assets
Just to let the community know about my experiences:

Last week I used the implemented "swap" function within myetherwallet to get some ETH with BTC.
They partnered up with changelly for that, so I thought it's trustworthy and made the transfer.

Due to a bug in changellys system (didn't update to the new hash after a "replace by fee" for a quicker BTC transfer, it took me a week to reach them (they didn't response to my emails).

We are sorry to hear that your weren't satisfied with our services but we want to clarify the matter in order to avoid any possible misunderstanding. We've checked the issue with our support team and it seems that you created 2 fixed rate transactions and sent funds twice to a non-reusable address, which is prohibited by Changelly's Terms of Use 2.6.3, and for that, we have the appropriate warning for all users at the Confirmation step - > https://imgur.com/a/6b3N5l6.

Please kindly note that the transaction cannot be processed when a user sent crypto assets to a previously used one-time address that had been generated for a Fixed exchange rate transaction or a Floating exchange rate transaction. All Fixed exchange rate option addresses are non-reusable. Therefore, the issue lays not in the invalid hash or inability to update it, but a double transfer to the non-reusable address.

We do assure you that your funds are not lost. Our technical team will do everything in their power to shorten the time of your refund. It is also worthy to mention that we make refunds manually and each case requires extra attention to avoid the risk of double-spend. So we kindly ask you to wait for a while until you get your money back.

In addiction, as we strive to provide the most seamless and instant support to our users, we'd like to know more about the delay in response from our side.   Therefore, for internal investigation, we need the email you used for communication - please DM us.

UPD: The funds in full were returned to the client on June, 19th.

I'm such a stupid looser human.
Got baited into using them by myetherwallet. They practically promote changelly as a "trusted partner".

Shame on me for not doing my homework...again

Does changelly have a bad reputation?
Yes. Read "this thread and all of its links to other threads"...
- If you search their name in "Scam Accusations" board, you'll get the whole picture.

Anybody else lost their funds to changelly?
Lots of other people...
- Just because it worked for some, it doesn't mean it'll work for everybody else [selective scams].

Using changelly certainly was a one time mistake for me.
I'm letting you know, because I whish somebody would've told me before...
You should've asked or searched prior to using it.

I'm sorry about your experience with them but you should have research more before using them. Although some have good experience with them so they'll continue to use it. Still, in the past, there were too many complaints about them and I guess if you have read those, you'll refrain to use them during that time.

This complaint was old but could be one of your basis with other users shared their problems too.

Yesterday I found the chat function on their homepage and seemed to get all matters sorted out.
I was wrong.
22 hours later I AGAIN emailed them to ask what's the holdup.
Their answer: "It takes 20 working days"
Sorry, but WTF?
It's their mistake, and still they have the NERVE to keep my USD 1500 for another additional month?

Using changelly certainly was a one time mistake for me.

Supersonic swaps for your digital assets
Hi there

A few days ago I used the swap function within myetherwallet to buy some ETH with BTC.
MEW (my ether wallet) seem to have "partnered" with changelly and implemented their service into the wallet.
It was the first time I used changelly as swapper and got burned right away.
Although I provided a BTC adress, neccessary for return in case of a failed transaction, I never got any ETH and I never got my BTC back.

So far, so bad, but when I asked MEW for help, they just gave me an email adress of changelly.
That was 4 and a half days ago.

Does changelly have a bad reputation? Is this a legit firm? Was I an idiot to trust them because they where implementd and "partners" of MEW?

Anybody else lost their funds to changelly?

Hi there! Sorry for the
inconveniences! Could you please DM us with your transaction ID? We'll check the matter on our side and get back to you shortly.

I for one would not put anything more than chump change through them and I don't trust them.

When it comes to instant exchangers then i do commonly use these two platforms.

Changelly.com
Coinswitch.co

There might some issues but they are still working perfectly fine for me.

the hash of the BTC transaction wasen't updated after I "replaced by higher fee" to speed up transfer.

Never used them, but heard about them. I don't think they are going to scam. Did you contact changelly via the email address given to you by MEW?
If you haven't try contacting them first.
They do have a very bad reputation in case of customer support. Did a quick google search where people kept on complaining about how bad there support is when trying to contact them to retrieve their "lost coins".
Others also reported saying that they were asked for ID verification. You probably might be asked to show some documents.
