I don't know if perhaps i'm overthinking this, but considering the evolution of money from the beginning of time where different things have served as a medium of exchange and now currently banknotes.

On same trend, we are slowly witnessing the evolution of  money to crypto and i can't help but wonder if crypto is the final stage or there may perhaps be another revolutionary idea to replace crypto as money after crypto has been accepted.

What do you think?
It can hardly be said that cryptocurrency is even the next stage in the evolution of money, not only its last stage. State money has a fundamental difference from cryptocurrency. With a few exceptions, money is a special kind of universal commodity used as a universal equivalent through which the value of all other commodities is expressed. Ideally, the nominal amount of money in the state should be equal to the sum of all goods that are in civil circulation in the state. If more money is produced than all the goods in the country, then we observe inflation. Cryptocurrency is generally not tied to the availability of goods in the state, its economy. This is a significant difference. Therefore, cryptocurrency cannot replace fiat. Cryptocurrency can be considered as a kind of money, because it has some advantages over government money. But, in my opinion, it should not be considered as a link in the evolution of government money.

Frankly speaking, it is rather difficult to make such forecasts. We see that the world is developing, and it is quite difficult to predict some things. I think there will still be a new form.

IMHO.
It is continuous progress. For now, it's good to stay and we're likely good with it as the final form of money. But time after time, we're going to see the evolution and another one that shall be better than this.
But who knows what it's going to look like? It's also possible that we go back to the old form as the trends are going there. We don't really know what's with it in the future or if it's the final form of money.

There is nothing as constant as change (Charles Darwin). the world is a changing world, No one knows or will predict the future . Like back to the time when people just abodond trade by batter and embraced fiat currency ( the early stage of fiat system) during 18 Century or 19 century not sure, I don't think that people had the idea that a technology that would also be better than paper currency like Bitcoin would be in existence by now. So as at then too ,fiat currency seem to them as the last point of money and same thing is applicable to us in the evolution of money with cryptocurrency at this point in time.

Evolution is continuous so it will not end and its just going to cycle. Maybe crypto is just another currency inserted but the cycle will still continue. Who knows we may be back again to accepting Salt or Seashells as currency in the next 1000 years.

Today, its very clear that energy is money. Putin used his gas which produces energy as leverage to potentially win over this war. Bitcoin which is also generated by energy (hash) but of course BTC is digital currency in the blockchain.

For me, maybe one day there will be something next to crypto in the evolution of money, but it’ll take centuries in my opinion for it to happen. One day, maybe the bank notes and physical coins we have are gonna cease to exist, and may see that every transaction is made digitally.

However, we might not exist during that day on whatever that new evolution is. We just don’t know what the future holds for us. We can only imagine about it. The world continues to evolve as we know it, as well as the money itself.
