I see a large amount of sell orders for DogeCoin, and from the looks of the Bear charts, DogeCoin looks like a dying currency. If I was looking for a "long-term" currency, DogeCoin is the one I would avoid...?   Huh

If you believe it will be pumped again then go for it.
Buy lots of doge coins and maybe one day we will see it again above 100 satoshi.
I don't believe in doge coin and I think that coin should be already dead, but I also like to follow market and I think it can go up.

Dogecoin is stable coin but is only for tipping(especially on reddit). So we can hope but not sure dogecoin price will increasing. Now we have dogecoin for gambling so much: Bitsler, Duckdice, 999dice,... etc. And they have a huge dogecoin because of decreasing price base Bitcoin. At May-2017, Doge/BTC is 118 satoshies but now only ~20 satoshies and dogecoin price is easy to mining so that the price can rising hardly.
About OP question, i think dogecoin worth to buying, but what for? Invest or Gambling?

Dogecoin is not mean to be a good coin if you are talking about growth. Basically, it has not much development and everyone is just treating dogecoin as an entertainment tool. However, because of that, it is actually quite a great coin to buy and use it.

Instead of the stagnant and technologically outdated DogeCoin, invest in RaiBlocks which is a promising alternative. It features almost instant and zero fee transactions. Its low market cap indicates that it can only rise.

Doge has a strong support line at 15 sats, If you have an iron balls you can play with Swingtrade, the price actually pump and dump between 17sats to 21sats. Current price is 18sats. If you want to get profit, swingtrade by buying at 16 to 17sats, and sell it 19sats. Easy 11% profit.

Not always but Yes.

dogecoin is one of those altcoins that has nothing going on, specially in the long term. this coin, just as you guessed has a huge supply and like ethereum it doesn't have a cap. this means a growing supply and a dropping price in long term.

but at the same time dogecoin is known for having very good rallies. and during these rallies or pumps the price rises a lot. and because of small price of Doge you can make a lot of profit from these pumps.

Every crypto currency has it's unique own way to promote their currency and each are relying on their core team, devs & marketing and most of all investors. If the value of the coin is descending after time then some investors were trying to sell their shares as early as possible and I think that's Dogecoin's case this time. But I don't believe it will going to die in the wild because there are also investors that are willing to risk the when the Core team will change their battle plan maybe they will recover and get back to track again.
Crypto currency is really hard to maintain but without the efforts of the core team and everyone's contribution then they'll end up losing everything.

If 'long-term' and 'currency' are the key words here you could buy doge. I mean, it's not going to sky but it probably will be around after couple of years and you can use it as a currency, at least in some communities ( =reddit) Seen that way, it could be more stabile than some random new coin.

I mean anything could happen since we are so young in crypto yet. But I suggest looking into other alts that provide more promise and have a lower marketcap. This will help to get the best return on your investment.

Doge coin is not good to buy anymore, its out of volume of investors you only waste your money of you buy this coin, there are many great altcoin to buy just do a research to know what coin should you buy and also it is depending on your capital. Much better if you have big capital you must divided it into 3 to 5 altcoin to lessen the risk of your money.

who can say... the original dev was a clown who once he exited said it was all just for a laugh and seems to have turned quite negative on crypto in general. Hopefully it will sky rocket now he is out.

Works well at being a crypto currency though doesnt it. Just lacks adoption.

It could get adopted if a small group of people actually started seriously working on the coin. But until that happens it's just an old meme.

working on the coin?

what is to do about it?

there is nothing that can be done except spreading misinformation.

the future will be as it is supposed to be currencies that have a double entry bookkeeping of the banker that have issued and created it and takes responsibility for it.

the time of the empty it systems pure beliefs will end

DOGE's good for short term and day trading purposes but if you are planning to buy it and holds it for a long term basis, no and better find some other low valued coins that has real developer and legit projects on the process. I have invested in DOGE and actually I'm just using it for gambling and when I see some good + on it within the day I'm trading it. Be careful not to hold this coin.

all short term currencies tend to loose over time they are therefore also terrible for trading purposes

At this moment, don't even bother with such a joke worthless coin, there are way more altcoins to invest in.
But he last news i heard was that core dev have given up on the project, and there won't be any more development.
There is no chance that this coin is going to see an increase in numbers but, just like any other cryptocurrency, DogeCoin will keep exisiting, but no one will care.
