In real life, children and dogs understand each other well and quickly find common ground. Why not start teaching our kids about crypto through Dogecoin? I think they will like such a cute Doge logo, and along with this, all the training will be fun and easy.

Cryptocurrency has grown so much and gradually the world have started accepting it while looking for more ways to adopt it's services, hence the reason a lot of institutional investors keeps buying and investing as they could because they believe in the future. Thus teaching your kid about crypto is never a bad thing nor is it a wrong thing, in fact it is one of the biggest investment you will do in her life, because when she starts learning at a young age, it will make her more exposed as she grows thus knowing what to do and what not to do. Hence, as a kid, starting with a small amount is a good strategy and of course suitable. Lastly, I don't think there is any risk, since she is young and wouldn't possibly start investing at that age but as she grows you need to know more about crypto and her to know the best way to advise. Also, it doesn't really matter if it's Dogecoin or others, just pick one you want and start with it.

There is no correlation between doge and the kids. Doge can be used as transactions or transfer of money by any age, kids or adult. But the community is not kids friendly tho. A lot of adult meme by the community.

For transactions : any cryptocurrencies ( doge, dash, bitcoin, ethereum ) can be used by all ages.

yes I agree with you, basically crypto is not intended for children. It's not wrong to explain the benefits of crypto to children, but it's too early to teach them to use crypto from an early age.
I think introducing is not a problem. but remember, don't make these children find their own pocket money from crypto trading.
I have a friend who taught his younger brother to trade crypto and he succeeded in making his own money. but it was clear that he was not that young. need better understanding and reasoning to be able to start investing and trading.

I am thinking to teach my 8 yr old daughter about crypto. But past history riddled with illicit activity so I was thinking to open her a just dogecoin wallet and have her to learn to use it. Do you think it is suitable? Anyone done this? Or any risk?

Thanks.,

for 8 year olds it sounds like a new idea for me to introduce to children as well, besides learning about the basics of crypto which was given earlier, even though the DOGE meme coins used to be just as a complement, now they pay more attention and there are many enthusiasts seen by the rising prices that occur on the DOGE coin.

giving knowledge since childhood is very good. but whether that later doesn't force your child to know what they really don't want.
8 years old, I believe they are kids at play age. do not force them to learn something difficult for them to understand.

all remain at risk. But there is nothing wrong if you teach your family that you can still control how your child manages the assets he will have.
learn from the easiest. but don't push your daughter if she doesn't really like crypto.

Every investment has a risk. You better teach your child first about basic things like "what is bitcoin" / "what is blockchain" and implement it in a language that is easy for him to understand.

You can teach her whatever you want if it's helpful for her future. It is also is really up to the kid and the intellectual level she is at. There are kids where you think they are there years ahead of the time. The issue I see is how her environment would deal with it. Kids tell a lot and her teachers might find out that she is already in touch with cryptocurrencies. What if one teacher sucks and is old and depressed and against crypto, might make fun of her or not assess fairly.
Good luck to you and your daughter and have fun!

Need special guidance, not only Dogecoin, but other altcoins, which will certainly suit our children if our children have been given material and an understanding of the good and the bads of crypto, because with a broad understanding it will definitely make it easier for our children to go through that stage..

It doesn't matter if you want to introduce crypto to young children, and the choice of Dogecoin is the right choice, as long as you can explain everything about crypto and Dogecoin itself, I am sure your child will be interested immediately, but don't force your child if they are not interested

I think starting to introduce kids to crypto is a positive thing, and I agree Dogecoin is a great choice for kids. Because children love animals,
the Dogecoin symbol has an image of a dog that children will likely like. If I were you I would do the same, get to know Dogecoin first.
Because of introducing something to a child, must be in a way that catches his attention. So the child will be more and more curious to learn it.

Yes, it is.

Not Dogecoin only, bitcoin, Ethereum, and more are suitable for kids. It's depending on how easy your kids catch the lessons.

I did begin to teach my kids last year ago, it's not easy, but I stepping into it by using TESTNET.
I won't recommend you with real coin such as doge either, I know that's cheaps, but still, if your kids made a mistake, not only the coin but the private key will be exposed when touching the wrong button. Cause I had experience with it, so Testnet is better, Mainnet is when your kids understand how to managed security and wallet.

IMO.

doge can be one of the most powerful reasons to educate them. Just look at Elon with a few tweets about doge. he was very successful in providing education for the general public who did not understand crypto.
I do not think Elon Musk's tweets are educational purposes but purely promotional; this way I am not seeing dogecoin could be a reason for making kids to be aware of cryptocurrencies. Because, even Elon Musk may forget all cryptos when he is about to launch new Tesla models or when opening new factory units in China/India or might get busy with hyperloop or starlink projects or may switch over to another dead coin. Who know?

Dogecoin sound like time being fantasy and nothing more to me. If kids adopt dogecoins and if it gets failed in near future then that lead to wrong example to them. Always bitcoin could be the great reason for anyone to get aware of crypto space. Use bitcoins for anything which includes introducing your kids into crypto space.

I think your main aim is to introduce your child to crypto. Why cant you start with a blockchain game?
There are many games out there that pay you out in crypto for playing those games without investing anything.
Try out this one https://play.alienworlds.io/. You just need a wax wallet to start .
Your child will like it and you will also get a passive income. Alienworlds token TLM is already listed in binance.
Check here to see its current rate - https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/alien-worlds/
Very good idea.

If my kid is grown up and I want to introduce crypto, I'll get that idea of introducing through playing games and will explain about the rewards, the risk and volatility of its nature. And then, I'll say that there are other cryptos like Dogecoin.

Thanks for the idea.

Yes, this is a nice suggestion. They will be enjoying the game and at the same earning some free coins. But just don't let the kids hook into their games. Just set specific time period that they can play the game, otherwise, they may get addicted with it. Also, another way to get free coins is via faucets. Like faucetcrypto or btcpop. However, it will take time for them to collect coins. That is, if they just want to collect free coins and learn how to deal with crypto.
I remember the old days when faucets were still popular. It's like you're playing games through claiming it from time to time. But the amount you get on it is low as always in the present time.

But this idea will really do the trick upon educating the kids. As always, if they're hooked into the game, they'll dedicate time on it but moderate them so that they still manage their time properly.

Why not. But what can an 8 year old do with Doge ?. how do they they spend it. there aren't many places that accept crypto yet. So I think kids are still not suitable for crypto. but it's different from parents, doge can be one of the most powerful reasons to educate them. Just look at Elon with a few tweets about doge. he was very successful in providing education for the general public who did not understand crypto.

Dogecoin is a game currency but this does not mean that it is a game for kids ... at the base of everything it is about assets with values and subject to speculation, etc., playing with DOGE with the risk of losing wallets, passwords, etc. it might one day make you regret it.
You could set up a wallet of any shitcoin for her to practice sending, receiving, etc.

8 years must be too early for learning anything about investments/payment processors/even any kind finance things. Let your kid learn something which are suitable for their age group not what adults must do. Because, education and other moral things are more important in childhood and we should not deviate them from learning those things. They must choose what they are preferring and based on that they can adopt cryptocurrency after the age of 18 or 20.

All I mean, just let your kid grow on their own world still you may teach them basics of money management and importance of saving but never open about advanced things to them until they are becoming 18+. After they are becoming adult also, give them choices by teaching basics and from that let them adopt what they prefer.

If what you meant by letting your daughter learn crypto using doge is by using it as a way to pay goods online or just sending money it's definitely ok, not to mention the fee used also gonna be affordable, but if what you meant is trading, I doubt it's gonna be suitable, the condition of doge trading market resembles gambling like a lot due to the unpredictable movement as well as the market moves purely according to hype.
But, if you want to teach her a more practical thing like what I mentioned above, it's better to use dummy cryptocurrency such as ropstein's testnet eth which you can get for free and works just like the real thing.
