I am thinking to teach my 8 yr old daughter about crypto. But past history riddled with illicit activity so I was thinking to open her a just dogecoin wallet and have her to learn to use it. Do you think it is suitable? Anyone done this? Or any risk?

Thanks.,
It is important also to ask first your 8 year old daughter  if she like to learn about crypto. As a parent we need to hear their opinions or fellings about that matter. But for me your daughter is still too young to expose in crypto, but if you only teach the basics like how to send and recieve crypto, how to keep her private key etc.. i dont see any risk or problem.

I don't see any risk on teaching your daughter about Dogecoin as long as you have supervision on her account.  It is a good thing for a kid to be aware of the trending staff and booming industry.  It will greatly help her future understanding about trending stuff and cryptocurrency.  Every knowledge impart to our kids will affect their future outlook in life.

It's suitable and why not? You can use a small amount of doge to give education to your daughter. I was also educating my brother with doge coin too.
I see no risk as long as you were using a small amount of doge coin. Elon was also using doge for educational purposes to his baby.  Grin

How do I introduce the history of doge to those who are young? I want to know, doge doesn't currently have a core team, also some people call this a joke coin, but I am very moved some people can introduce to their families.

8 years too young in my opinion, they are still kids, but I am sure they are our successors, you can give your daughter a simple lesson about cryptocurrency, Introduce her with dogecoin I think it is not appropriate because it has a fundamental that is less clear, what about BNB?

Why not start with Bitcoin, so he'll have a general idea of how Cryptocurrency starts and evolves since Bitcoin is the mother of all Cryptocurrency, Dogecoin is also good and it's a good investment too but I don't like the idea of introducing it first before Bitcoin, everything starts with Bitcoin, you find Bitcoin you will find other coins too, it's your entry point.

Dogecoin is a good starter coin because with low fees you can easily move it back and forth and not have to worry about any fees. Its actually the reason why it survived all these years. Due to high fees on many networks, many gambling sites started to offer Doge because the transfers are near free and fairly quick and the network is very secure.

So you can send her $5 worth or so and she can send those $5 to 5 of her friends and the fees will be low. And worst case scenario she loses her private key or it get stolen due to hackers then its a small loss.

I don't think kids should hold large amount of BTC or ETH because there are just way too many scams these days.

I do not see any harm in this. But someone who will learn about this market should definitely start with bitcoin. bitcoin is the pioneer of this market. at least if he knows what bitcoin is and try to understand it. Frankly, it didn't seem wise to me to study other things without knowing the source of the market. To know what bitcoin is is to understand this market.

You've got your point there's no harm if your kid is willing to learn deeper regarding to this market,

Though the value between this two crypto might the changing factor, if you are just throwing 10 doge

for practicing it won't hurt that much, but if you'll going to throw portions of your bitcoin just to waste

that might be affecting your investment.

Try it, perhaps it is a good development direction for your child in the future. There is no harm, the risk is very low when you do it. Train your child to get used to the market
Because in the future digital currency will occupy the market. Doge at not very high prices, practice for your child to invest!!!

Your opinion is very good, DOGE is not too difficult for children. If your child is thinking enough to learn, they should teach them. Because the latter is the era of digital currency
Doge coin is also not too expensive to take risks when trading.
It's important to invest your child's knowledge.

its actually a good idea while you are there to guide your kids.. Be practical indeed its for their future.. If i have kids also for sure i will do the same because its good to train while they're at the early age wherein until they grow up they already have enough knowledge to manage all the stuff when it comes crypto currency.. Because i dont really want them to experience whatever i have been through when I'm new in this crypto space especially struggles.

There is nothing wrong starting to teach kids about crypto even if you will introduce dogecoin first. It is better to start early since crgypto is a long term innovation which is expected to be massively adapted in the future. Doge is the cheapest investment you can make and it will be a good start for your kid. Eventually, your kid will learn and will be able to explore crypro little by little.

I don't see any wrong with it, dogecoin is suitable to everyone whether kids or adults as long as they have the understanding about this coin.
And as far as I know there are already some of the community did this to share it to their kids. In fact, its an advantage for the kids to have this and doing trade with it as well.

I mean if you gift her like 20$ worth of dogecoin instead of giving her 20$ in form of a dollar bill than i don't see any harm in that. This way you can give her a introduction into cryptos by creating a wallet showing her how she can send coins around and so on. So i think it's a pretty cool idea and probably way more interesting for you daughter too in comparison to just hand her a 20$ bill. She will probably look at her wallet a lot of times in the future to see if her 20$ are growing in value or not.  Smiley

I am thinking to teach my 8 yr old daughter about crypto.
In my opinion, it is too early to teach her about crypto. It is better to focus on introducing her to everything about the digital world. It is more general, she will be easier to understand. You can teach her about crypto once she is already 15 years old. I think at the age, she is already familiar enough with the digital world and ready to know crypto.

Thanks that is cute kid friendly coin I think. But I can not find cute kid friendly wallet app with cute icon on marketplace Android. May be I will let her use coinomi for now.
You really inspire me, I will also teach my son about crypto, now he is 2 years old.  I think the way you do I can adapt.  In my opinion, Doge is easy enough for beginners and not too complicated, so it is friendly enough for children.  but with regard to wallets, sometimes I also find it quite difficult to adapt.  better use a mobile wallet which is more user friendly.  At least we teach the concepts to:
1) always record or store keywords / phrases / private key wallets,
2) how to send and receive (related to wallet addresses), 3) explain that there are many types of crypto and cannot be transferred to any address, they must be the same  kind,
4) don't forget to teach how to get it too, haha .. is it too early?

I think your main aim is to introduce your child to crypto. Why cant you start with a blockchain game?
There are many games out there that pay you out in crypto for playing those games without investing anything.
Try out this one https://play.alienworlds.io/. You just need a wax wallet to start .
Your child will like it and you will also get a passive income. Alienworlds token TLM is already listed in binance.
Check here to see its current rate - https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/alien-worlds/
This method will introduce children to crypto according to their abilities, this 8 year old child who still likes to play will be very useful for educating as well as introducing crypto slowly. but don't get addicted, I prefer to teach children through animated videos about cypto such as dogecoin, btc, etc, this will attract them to know and get to know cypto.

I am thinking to teach my 8 yr old daughter about crypto.
First of all, it is needed to let her know about the basics of cryptocurrency, the risks, and also the profits that can be got. It is important to tell her that in crypto, there is a risk in every decision, not only thinking o the profits that can be got but also about the loss probability.
And of course, letting her know about some types of cryptocurrencies, how to avoid being scams, and also educating about emotion and fund management. there are complex to teach about crypto, but ensure that your girl is really ready. It may be useful t use the more friendly approach to teach her, in order to make her not confused or feel dizzy at all.
And one that is very important is that:
is she really okay if learning about crypto at that age? If it seems that she is not ready yet and not willing, never force her, just tell about the story of yours in crypto.

And about Dogecoin?
Well, I can say nothing, but if I am personally, I will get it into BTC/ETH/BNB.

Very good idea.

If my kid is grown up and I want to introduce crypto, I'll get that idea of introducing through playing games and will explain about the rewards, the risk and volatility of its nature. And then, I'll say that there are other cryptos like Dogecoin.

Thanks for the idea.

Yes, this is a nice suggestion. They will be enjoying the game and at the same earning some free coins. But just don't let the kids hook into their games. Just set specific time period that they can play the game, otherwise, they may get addicted with it. Also, another way to get free coins is via faucets. Like faucetcrypto or btcpop. However, it will take time for them to collect coins. That is, if they just want to collect free coins and learn how to deal with crypto.
