Ethereum is the second largest cryptocurrency after Bitcoin. No other ultracoin compares to Ethereum. I have always considered ETH to be the king of Altcoins and I believe ETH is the most successful smart contract platform that other altcoins have yet to create such a successful platform. And anyone who prefers Ethereum to invest in Altcoins has the biggest fan base.Ethereum is very popular and I think if the gass fee can be reduced then its investment will increase.I always invest in Ethereum and hold some my wallet.
I just think that at this point some other coin overtaking ethereum throne as it is right now will be hard.

ethereum has become the king of all altcoins to date and so far only BNB has been able to disrupt the movement of ethereum, and even then BNB still has no ability. as you said that until now if we look at the market cap it is clear that ethereum is still at number 2, only below bitcoin. the most important thing is of course that investors still really like ethereum as a very attractive investment, so it really deserves ethereum to be the best for altcoins. the disparity in market capitalization alone already reflects how difficults its gonna be for some other coin that hasn't even as established as ethereum to overtake it.
I think Vitalik has built a near-perfect system... Of course, we have some problems. As a simple example, the fee problem due to scaling problems might be one of them. However, even though we have scaling issues, we are still in a safe haven. I think Ethereum is the king of altcoins, but once Vitalik manages to overcome some minor issues like scaling and privacy, Ethereum will be the undisputed king of altcoins.
If ETH puts itself together by addressing scaling and privacy issues, then yes, it will become the undisputed king of altcoins. But it's hard to deal with the "blockchain trilemma" without sacrificing centralization in the long run. You'd have to choose if you want lower fees at the cost of centralization, or keep the high fees while retaining decentralization and censorship-resistance.
I think ETH will choose centralization given the measures it has taken recently (change to PoS, and developers' proposal to increase the minimum staking amount). It's a pity because ETH once stood for crypto's original values. Fortunately, not all hope is lost. The original Ethereum chain (Ethereum Classic) is still with us, so the community has nothing to lose. This chain still uses PoW and it's currently far more decentralized than ETH. Who knows if it grows until it becomes the third-largest chain after Ethereum (ETH)? Just my opinion

For now I think Ethereum is just an ordinary altcoin, not a king anymore,
yes we know that Ethereum is still in the top 2 Coinmarketcap and is still the top platform,
but as long as we know that what makes Ethereum not the king anymore is the very high Gas Fees ,
if the Ethereum team fixes the gas fees problem I'm sure Ethereum can be king again.

As altcoin that being used massively no doubt that eth can claim that title. Everyone has used eth in quite sometime and still been using to interact to famous dapps that runs to its ecosystem. In terms of transaction I think its way more than bitcoin. Bitcoin only used as peer to peer currency and some accepted it on some establishments but its the same for eth. Bitcoin doesnt have ecosystem for other project unlike them that they can be used for defi and other medium. Yes there are new ones but we cant deny that eth maxis are still bigger combined than those new rising.
If you want to invest in any other coin other than Bitcoin, you must choose the Alt coin Ethereum. One thing you should keep in mind if you ever invest in Ethereum is that Ethereum Gas Free is a bit high. If we ever want to trade anything in the alt category, Ethereum will surely come to our mind. Ethereum is the most reliable coin.

of course I agree that Ethereum is the king of altcoin, because until now Ethereum is still in 2nd position on coinmarketcap, so that proves that there are still many people who believe to investing in Ethereum and using the blockchain from Ethereum, therefore there is no need to doubt that Ethereum is the king of altcoin until now.

for BNB maybe the confidence of investors has dropped a little because of the problems with the SEC and hope that it will be resolved soon.
the fact that there are so many second layer solution created solely for the sake of solving eth gas fee and using ethereum natively for the gas fee i think will massively increase the dominance that ethereum has been having ever since until today to even greater heights. I just think that ethereum dominance will not get replaced by some other altcoins anytime soon.

You already share answer but this true btc and eth both king the crypto market. Some people have been leave erc20 network but not leave buying eth. Eth gas fees very high so a new project Won't use it even they have choice bsc network. It's really a bad effect for eth platform where many investor sentiment decreased significantly.
it seems that everyone is always trying to avoid using the erc20 network due to the fees charged which make it quite difficult for those who want to transact on it. although I agree that eth is still very popular because it is indeed very reliable and very worthy of being a profitable investment to date. it must even be admitted that eth is a coin under btc which is highly sought after and in demand for investment.so if many say that eth is pinned as the king of altcoins, of course it is not an extraordinary thing and has indeed been recognized until now.

Ethereum is not a king and only an altcoin that depends on Bitcoin,
it is clearly seen in 2023 that the era of Ethereum has ended after switching to PoS, Even the price of Ethereum dump or increase does not affect other altcoins,

So far, with Ethereum performamce (as seen by its position on the Coinmarketcap) it can well be said to be leader or in your own terms "King of Altcons". With its smart contracts innovation, Etheeum is great among all the altcoins. However, we should take note that there are many unique innovations in the cyptocurrency space, so for Ethereum to continue being King of Altcoins, the Ethreum team have to continue building on Ethereum. If the team decides to rest on their oars, they may see Ethereum being overthrown over time. So far, in my opinion, Ethereum team is really hard working, making Ethereum stand out as a unique altcoin - King of Altcoins.
