the speculation on ethereum compared to BTC are not that big but when the time comes that the price of ETH is not connected to BTC anymore it will make a big difference, it may never come but in crypto many are possible so better keep some for the future.

And price of Bitcoin also pumped almost 300% from the very lowest point of 2020 but yeah the point is, the strong coins will always survive, just as BTC and ETH have shown us,,, but best crypto of 2020 in terms of what? Price? Then surely when the bull comes it won't be ETH or BTC but some low market cap altcoin who will not last.

That depends on the bitcoin. even when ethereum got major update and it doesn't mean the price of ethereum can change drastically at the same time. We must try to see the fundamental of market because this is giving a huge impact to determine the price of ethereum. 
Ethereum definitely one of the most top coin even for the next decade of cryptocurrency. It has a good volume on every crypto market. It is capanle of being in a good and stable price and suits to it as a good coin to invest even for a long term. It has a good future for sure.
Yes, I totally agree with what you say, but if for long-term investments I am a little doubtful because Altcoin top can also experience a decrease when we don't expect it, so in terms of investment I prefer the short term rather than the long term, even though Altcoin Ethereum though. 
I am big time follower of ethereum from initial days i was holding ethereum even the price less than 100$ and also i was holding ethereum at the price of 1500$ . But based on recent development i am highly speculative ethereum price after 2.0 release . Once POS introduced the problem of scalability will be solved Maximum supply will be fixed . So i am slowly investing on ethereum from my savings part by part reasons are below
1) Inflation in global curreny or fiat curreny ( ehtereum and bitcoin is best alternative invetment solution )
2) Ethereum is the best Smart contract creation platform holding major DAPP's in market

Indeed the crypto space has come to stay and as such have a big role to play in every aspect of human endeavours, however talking about the future of the crypto space, not all coins will be part of it and as the case may be, Ethereum is one of few that will play a vital role in the progression of the crypto space. Thus in my own opinion, your number 2 point is very valid and as such it has placed Ethereum higher than a huge number of coins. Therefore yes, Ethereum is one of such coins that is worth holding because it has a lot to offer in the future.

Where did you get the news that Ethereum prices have changed almost 100% only this year? and why are you so sure that price changes will come 3x or more until the end of this year?because what I found on two different sites, the price changes on Ethereum do exist, but not up to 100% as you say, here I will give Ethereum price charts from a few years ago to the present.
