Please beware of the wallet you safe your funds. I don't know about Ethereum-wallet.net but myetherwallet is highly recommendable and there are other good wallets too. Please always do due deligence before you start using a new wallet.

i always use MEW wallet and remenber their domain name suffix is .com
I use MEW now, that's where I got my reimbursement sent but before I just bought some eth for $16 and kept them in ethereum-wallet.net, so yeah, I lost 60% which is sad. From that time I don't feel like investing in eth even though it might be profitable.
I don't know whether it is a scam or the site really was hacked... Administrator used to write from time to time about the development of some system to return money but I guess he hasn't written for a while and this is a bad sign. If only there was a chance to make him pay us that money..

Hi mate - as I am a new member I am unable to send you a PM. However - I am very keen to get in touch with any of the victims from this and would be very grateful for any contact. thanks!

New update on this thief, cant get through on the ethereum-contact @gmail address. The web page is still down. looks like bitcoin-wallet might also
be down. This guy is running I bet. I agree needs to be behind bars. I encourage all people to prosecute  this thief. But we need to work together and find him.

Many depositors hv been conned, me too, this guy got to be in jailed. As a wallet provider suddenly he reported the site has been hacked. We should get all the depositors here and take stiff action on him. The forum started by him is controlled by him and good and sensible postings are remove by him, so that others could not read and see the posting. For instance I hv check my ETH movement thro etherscan and found that my account was not hacked but the ETH move out hy him to another address. I hv been able to trace that the reported hack have actually move many ETH to one account which shows  balance of US1.5 million. There were also many ETH in figure of 21 being move to Shapeshift. All depositors must get together to hunt down this thief and get the ETH account to be frozen. By compensating40% the thief thot he can get away. As a wallet provider with so many users you cannot say u r not aware of being hacked - why was there no instruction to users to protect their account.

Don't play play with digital ledger, as everything can be trace thru Etherscan, I advise all depositors to check their account, and you can find the truth. Also please note down the address where u receive your 40% compensation as u will be able to trace where the fund from this account iscoming from.

This is how the thief operate. huge qty of Eth move to one address and then move out to a big account, eg. of 4 major tranxs. matching to the account

I can not get my ether out of Ethereum-Wallet.net and they do not, to date, respond to support emails. Does anyone know if this website is a scam? They hold the private key, not good. I also see there is a poster called AstralWonder on this forum who spams links to them in most of his posts. An internet search shows a lot of forum and comment spam and the odd sponsored post pointing to Ethereum-Wallet.net - and not much else at all. The site is not on https and whois is hidden behind a panama address. I am concerned they are simply a scam?

Yes they are a scam I could remember when I just started Crypto still a nob then I deposited Ethereum there,  up till today they haven't refund it they claimed to be hacked

I lost a 100 ETH using this wallet.

Can someone please let me know what email address I need to use in order to send a request for disbursement?

For the people on this thread who have recovered a portion of their ETH, how long did it take to receive the tokens?

I would really appreciate any information I can get

Thank you

One day when I'm in serious trading I'll make sure I know who the company is so I can come and visit Mr scammer face to face.

Always avoid online wallets. Try creating wallet from MEW or myetherwallet.com its .com with https:// on it. Secure private keys and JSON. Always remember if the wallet gives you the Private keys or seed phrase it is a good wallet. Although the security is up to you.

I had 88 ethereum in my wallet at ethereum-wallet.net, and these were transferred to another wallet in february of this year. I have contacted him numerous times and he will not reply nor help me out. He will not approve my account for his forum as well. This guy is a scam like you won't believe.

Where does het get the money from to fund people 40% of their ethereum? We're talking hundreds of thousands of dollars in total? He can never earn that kind of money with that phony website of his. I am confident his new forum is fake and everybody there are his own accounts.

People have any suggestions on how to go after this fraud?

Thanks,
Sebastiaan

Sebastiaan, you might have read some of my posts.. i had 27 eth stolen.. Now Ethereum-Wallet.net has gone off line completly, it truley looks like we were robbed.. I've started a forum to try and engage people who've lost money.. Please join there.. http://etherr0bber.freeforums.net/

I put 4 ETH on this wallet and forgot to write down the URL so I thought I had lost them.

Then today I found a link to it on my secondary e-mail (had forgot to check that when I was searching a while back).

Now I find the site is down ("hacked").

I would still be happy to get 40% back since I only paid $50 in BTC for the 4 of them in total, I'd still make a profit if selling them back to BTC. Wink

The latest posting at EthereumRestoreforum, hv the owner suggesting that it will be able to pay back to everybody if the price of ETH is capped at US$220, assuming that ETH price is now US$300, for each ETH outstanding, everyone will receive around 220/300 ETH for 1ETH. This is a plus factor for everyone. Someone should communicate and agree on this proposal.

This is just robbing us again. 27 ETH i stupidly held in that wallet. The offer was 40% (10.8 ETH) now and and IOU for 60%(16.2 ETH).

ETH not GBP,USD or INR

And still, i've not had any contact from them.

Plea for eric1961 to make contact: http://etherr0bber.freeforums.net/post/59/thread

eric1961 said:Received 40%. But, still have very strong concerns as to the remaining amount owed. Since depositing 50 ETH in my wallet, the price has gone up 450%. Having read the various comments left by Admin on how you intend on replacing that which was stolen, it is not a plan...Suggesting that selling projects, and/or selling the site (or part of it) is not a confidence builder. A business plan presented to a buyer showing 60% loss of tokens (at an ever increasing $ value in the future) does not reflect a positive foundation. If you truly are planning on restoring that which was stolen, you need to stem the outflow of loss (increasing in value every day). It is my contention (if you plan on restoring your brand name), that it would be advisable for you to immediately secure funds, restore the tokens, then begin to reap the profits that are going to be plentiful in the future of ETH. If you take any other route, then it seems that you are not intending to make things right. I hope that you will do the ethical thing and make a strong commitment at this time. Thanks

Came back to consider your suggestion. After a lot of consideration, we think it may be best to cap the value maximum at the time of the hack, which the price was around $220, in order to make it feasible that we can at least pay everyone back the original value at the time. Ethereum prices look strong, and it would be difficult to make up for the 50% appreciation in value since the hack. This was what Bitfinex did when they were hacked, so we may have to take this approach for the next disbursement. We've updated the announcement post. A maximum cap on the value is a good idea, or else this project would be impossible if ETH were to rise to $10,000 hypothetically. Hopefully this compensation plan will be able to satisfy users, since it's a difficult situation for us as ETH keeps rising. We're still working on building a site to handle disbursements, as mentioned previously.

Going forward, we are trying to take as many security measures as possible. The hack to our root account was devastating, and seeing in real time all the transactions out of the account into exchanges like Changelly and Shapeshift was disappointing. For us, we're essentially losing a successful project we had spent over a year on. Unlike the DAO hack, we aren't able to hard fork and reverse the blockchain back to the way they were prior. The exact source of the hack is undetermined - whether it was because of our migration process, or the something to do with the new web host we moved to - these were all possible vectors of attack, especially since we'd only migrated for two days. It was definitely not an issue with our code being vulnerable. We had ran that setup for nearly a year until the migration. If there's one thing we'd do differently, it would be to plan out and risk-assess everything before making major changes to our website. This migration was too hasty and was mostly done in a day to prevent our site from being down for too long due to maintenance. If anyone was online one or two days prior to the hack, they might've seen the maintenance message once or twice.

These weeks since the hack has been stressful for us, as we've had to deal with so many things due to this one breach in our system. We want to make sure everything we build going forward is secure no matter what, and we want to place measures in that make it impossible for hackers to gain anything even if the root account is compromised.
