I think Facebook will probably try to profit from bitcoin, but in the future will likely just make their own coin or some form of currency or 'credits'.

bitcoin is taking over. facebook should use bitcoin, it's reliable.

How is bitcoin being used on facebook?

I think he missed a period out of his sentence. I fixed it for you  Wink.

To get ahead of their own competitors, facebook should integrate bitcoin into their platform.

So it uses a lot of crapcoins but not bitcoin? Why exactly?

Because Bitcoin now means "im a dull white guy"

Oh really ? I'm not white. But I love Bitcoin. And FB is also run by a white, though Zuck is not dull Wink

Bicoin is an experiment for FB. It is not ready for prime time. We should wait until all of the major problems have good solutions before pushing its use, or a lot of people are going to get caught up in it, lose perspective, and get burned.

According to this news article, FB is allowing dogecoin, digibytes, einsteinium, fedoracoin, mintcoin, reddcoin, quark, worldcoin, vertcoin, karmacoin, earthcoin, trollcoin, HTMLcoin and donationcoin. I wonder Bitcoin is not in the list !!! Does it mean that Facebook board of directors understood they are a bit late in Bitcoin mining and hence mined other alts and now boosting those through their platform for quick profit ?

p.s. Juck wont probably like Bitcoin as Winklevoss hold 1% of it.
there are two possibilities, the first one as you say, fb has been left behind on the way bitcoin and they chose to follow the latest being the moment and think it will all be as good as bitcoin later. second chances, they just have not been published, are preparing well for bitcoin.
like finally lol

What would him having a greater investment in a particular investment then his "enemy" have to do with anything.

I was just saying that the fact that Winkelwii owns 0.5% of all the Bitcoins in circulation is not a valid reason for Zucker to hate BTC (Well.. if he thinks so then I can't help). Why concentrate on 0.5%, when the remaining 99.5% are owned by someone else.
I think it really depends on how stubborn he wants to be. If he wants to stop his "enemy" from succeeding at all costs then he will likely not integrate bitcoin into facebook. IMO this would be a very bad business decision

Chances are low that Zuckerberg will accept Bitcoin. He wont like to see that his profit is coming from an asset i.e. 1% owned by his arch rival Winklevoss.

Well... if he really want, then he can easily buy 10% of all the Bitcoins currently in circulation, and it will cost him less than $1 billion to do so. After that who will have the bigger stash? The Winkelwii or Zucker?  Grin

BTW... I don't think that Winkelwii own all of the BTC100,000 in his ETF. Some of them are owned by other investors.

One way that Facebook could earn money off of bitcoin is to engage in "off chain" transfers but charge users a fee when they transfer funds between accounts.

Facebook will eventually embrace Bitcoin, as will most major businesses or be left behind.
