According to this news article, FB is allowing dogecoin, digibytes, einsteinium, fedoracoin, mintcoin, reddcoin, quark, worldcoin, vertcoin, karmacoin, earthcoin, trollcoin, HTMLcoin and donationcoin. I wonder Bitcoin is not in the list !!! Does it mean that Facebook board of directors understood they are a bit late in Bitcoin mining and hence mined other alts and now boosting those through their platform for quick profit ?

p.s. Juck wont probably like Bitcoin as Winklevoss hold 1% of it.

I think Facebook will jump on board with bitcoin eventually.

But they still dint , what if they holding lots of these coin and make a multimedia push pump throw ?

My doubts are high in this assumption...Facebook are probably just waiting for the right moment to start accepting BTC so they can gain a pile themselves.
My opinion is they predicted it to die off but now they are unsure when to introduce it due to the prices rising

If they predict BTC are going down they should know the other alt coin will be gone as well since btc are the main thing

and btc are too expensive it wont make much profit for them if they did so .

Eventually, Facebook, along with most major businesses will be on board with Bitcoin. This wave can't be stopped.

They absolutely will. The low transaction fees make it a no brainer for any company that does high volume credit card sales.

I guess it is easier to tip someone in a low value altcoin than it is to use a main coin like Bitcoin
That said or they are trying to avoid any controversy with facebook and bitcoin by going with the less popular coins instead.
Still worth noting in my opinion.

It gives exposure to crypto currencies so it is a good thing. I don't know a lot of people that would tip in BTC. We tend to hoard that a bit more.

That is why they probably used the low value altcoins that no one would mind sending a 10000 doge tip for or something
Not sure how many coins I would get in exchange for the other alt coins but I am sure it would be a fairly large amount.
Still if they don't touch those coins it would be nice to see Bitcoin added as well some point in the future maybe as a means of exchange to the other tip coins.

there is a single script kiddie that made all of those altcoins as his pump and dump to make money out of fools that swap their valuable bitcons for his worthless couple dozen coin designs..

he now wants to try making them appear useful by making an app. and promoting it through coindesk.. i even suspect the OP is a sockpuppet of the coin dev and using a subtle form of advertising here..

all in all dont trade your bitcoins for those worthless altcoins

I am inclined to agree with Franky1, creating altcoins is so easy it can be done in less than an hour if you have prior experience. Alot of people wonder why some people really hate alternative blockchains, because most of the alternative blockchains do not seek to solve any problems with the Bitcoin protocol and are essentially digital Ponzi Shchemes. Several new users have lost lots of Bitcoin "investing" into altcoins thinking they could have value, I myself am not immune to this and have held the bag for several alternative blockchains. Live, learn and use Bitcoin Smiley

I think they serve a purpose as experimenting with different protocols without touching bit coin but you are exactly right that most of them are just pump and dump shitcoins.

This isn't Facebook trying to profit from cryptos at all. Approving one app that happens to use a bunch of altcoins isn't exactly a big deal considering the same article mentions that Facebook had already approved apps using bitcoin in the past.

Apple beginning to allow apps to use cryptocurrencies, now that was news. This, not so much.

So it uses a lot of crapcoins but not bitcoin? Why exactly?

Probably for the same reason there is no tipbot at this very forum.

because crapcoins are harmless. Only bitcoin carries serious threat to their potential facebookcoin

Regardless of if Facebook is looking to cash in or not, which at this point it doesn't look like it yet, it is still great news for cryptos.   The more it is in everyone's faces, the more people will learn about it an ultimately adopt it.

There are so many women on facebook, and I think getting the female population is very important to get BTC to the next level

yeah, some clothing retailers should really target bitcoin.. it seems that women have not yet entered the game, and we need to focus on something that they are interested in.

For your kind information, the only coin I hold is Bitcoin, always mentioned AltCoins as ShitCoin and asked people to be careful of ShitCoins. So u may keep your Sherlock Holmes dreams in the shelf for the time being.
