Gambling, like other activities, can be viewed as a hobby by those who enjoy it. For many people, the game of chance, whether it is roulette, blackjack, or slots, provides entertainment and excitement. Just like someone who enjoys playing musical instruments, playing their favorite sports, or any creative activities like painting or even writing, gambling stimulates and provides a break from our everyday lives.

People who like gambling appreciate or like the thrill of risk-taking, the challenge of doubling their money, or having to analyze and have a strategy in certain games. People also enjoy the bond within the person who likes gambling, whether it be at a casino, a simple poker night at home, or even online.

But still, you need to be a wise gambler if you want this to be a hobby. You should set a limit on the money you are spending. All of our hobbies involve money, so in gambling too, you should better make a limit on it, know when to stop, and be aware of yourself if you are getting addicted.

Gambling is indeed a hobby, but we don't equate this hobby with other hobbies, such as playing a musical instrument, playing your favorite sport, or other creative activities such as painting or even writing. Gambling is very different from other hobbies, as you said, gambling has quite high risks compared to other activities.

You like playing musical instruments, obviously this hobby is very useful apart from being entertainment. If we are serious about exploring this hobby, maybe tomorrow or the day after that you will become a musician. If you like sports and keep practicing, maybe tomorrow or the day after that you will become an athlete or bodybuilder, and even if not, of course this hobby is very useful for maintaining our physical health. Likewise, if you deepen your hobby in painting or writing, maybe tomorrow or the day after that you will become an artist or writer. Meanwhile, when you deepen your hobby of gambling, what benefits can we take, apart from temporary pleasure? Does studying this activity enable us to become professional gambling athletes and make lots of profits? Not necessarily, because the more often we gamble, the more often we will lose.

But in the last paragraph I agree with what was said, that we must apply a limit every time we gamble, whether in terms of costs incurred or time.

As far as I am concerned gambling is a hobby but when it becomes an addiction then gambling is no longer limited to a hobby. It will become harmful. I would never consider gambling as a hobby because gambling is a harmful addiction that kills people completely. Financially a lot is affected and social and family aspects become worse. Gambling is more of a loss than a hobby.

if something has turned into an addiction and is dangerous for the person concerned, it can no longer be said to be a hobby, but as a disease that must be cured immediately. something can only be said to be a hobby if it is useful for the person and does not cause negative effects that interfere with their other activities. but when someone is addicted to gambling, they cannot control themselves and they tend to play without knowing the time and place, and if it is not handled properly then over time this will only destroy the gambler and the people around him.

In fact, it doesn't matter if you experience addiction in other things, especially those that don't have the possibility of risk, but if you experience excessive interest in gambling, which means you have entered the addiction phase in gambling, it is clear as you say that something that has the potential for adverse effects that can harm someone can no longer be said to be a hobby, However, a hobby is something that is usually done when someone has free time and does something they enjoy to please themselves, but if for example the activity has an element of addiction which on the other hand also has the potential for harmful adverse effects then it cannot be said to be a hobby if someone has experienced dependence on activities that are harmful. On the other hand, I understand that gambling can be very enjoyable and entertaining, but it cannot be a hobby for everyone because of the possibility that gambling can turn pleasure into stress and tension along with many other problems.

So its better to keep gambling in the limits of a fun activity and not close to a hobby because then it the chance of becoming a future addiction.

This part is very important, generally a hobby is considered an activity where there is no danger of anything bad happening, on the contrary it is something harmless and is done to pass the time to be distracted, take the casino as a hobby that you can play as a weapon double-edged, where obviously we can lose money and that is what one tries to avoid, when we enter the casino what we want is to win money, not lose it, taking it as a hobby means that we can also take it as a habit, maybe we can all do it the days or maybe it is something that we will need and will make us dependent and that is where the danger begins, because yes, it could become a diction and without realizing it it becomes a clear waste of money for our private economy, we must be very careful Looking at casino as a hobby, I would call it casual adult entertainment.

A hobby is usually a pastime and one that have some creative output. A competitive game can be a hobby but when it becomes an addiction then it needs to be controlled to avoid it from stealing time for other activities. Gambling on online casinos have become in the similar lines, casinos want you to feel that competition and thus force you to play more and more to bask that glory of being the top player - of course with empty pockets for yourself and full pockets for the casino.

So its better to keep gambling in the limits of a fun activity and not close to a hobby because then it the chance of becoming a future addiction.

Gambling is fun when we play during our leisure time, not during working hours. Players who abuse these games by playing when they have less time, emotionally unstable, or are sad, end up getting themselves into mistakes. Because gambling is a game that requires concentration. Not a game played while worrying about other activities. Gamblers are more excited when they gamble after all their tasks have been completed. However, the orientation each gambler got is quite different. That's why every gambler has personal experiences with gambling.

The thing is that that is where you should be in your free time, not during working hours, I consider that work is something very sacred because we should not pretend to be doing other things that do not concern us, so in view of these things they are people who We are always going to create ways to have free time, but not at work, when a job is very radical and requires that workers not even have a phone while working, it is for that reason, avoiding people who are playing or doing other things. of things that are not appropriate for working hours, for example you can do them in your free time, and with that you do not lose concentration either at work or in games, because losing concentration in a game means you can lose money That's why the key here is to have free time, not play during work time.

I agree with you that gambling should be a hobby until someone becomes addicted to it.  But if someone gets addicted to gambling then it is not a hobby for him but it becomes a profession.  Gambling is something that can be used in many ways. one can use it as fun, it can be used as a source of income and it can also be used to test one's luck.  So how one uses it is a personal decision. However, the more serious one is about gambling, the greater the chance of future losses. But gambling will be used as fun or hobby as long as someone. till then it will keep him entertained
But yet people still disagreeing that gambling is not a hobby but specific games can be hobby but I see that those people don't really understand the meaning of hobby. And if really they understand the meaning of hobby then they would not argue that blind argument. And the concept has been explained very in the Op so even the lay man who can play gamble but can't write would understand if from the op and  other members yet they are not satisfied. Gambling is purely a hobby though not is not for everyone because not everyone like gambling and even for those who gamble, not everyone gamble everyday. But fo those who gamble everyday, it is their hobby even though they didn't put it in their CV, ordinary it is.

Gambling as a hobby has a pinch of risk when done the right way. Increasingly, gamblers don't understand what hobby has with gambling. Was it supposed to be tagged a hobby? Why would a person laugh over losing money? there are lots of similar thoughts appearing in my mind if gambling is addressed as a hobby. In this context, my response, gambling as a hobby is often recited as wagering and feeling as though we were in a fun place. After spending money in a mall or anywhere else, does it seem like a hobby to us?

I mean something we buy so frequently that we continually maintain the purchase for a long time. We wouldn't feel addicted to purchasing that, but at some point, there'll be some misconception about people who are dear and near to us regarding the person's aggressive purchase of a product. Nobody is sure who is right or wrong. The player or buyer would think he's doing the right thing but his acquittance keep opposing his answers.

So, when what is considered, a hobby is consistently practiced and ignites the attention of dear friends, it doesn't sound to me like a victory lap. There is a misconception somewhere about why he can't stay a day off gambling. A hobby can be practiced every day, with nobody seeing it as a problem. But, when it's related to gambling every day as a hobby, it sounds weird to listeners. Those arguments could make a responsible player begin to think he's a bit addicted, out of what his friends say to him. In a nutshell, openly disclosing gambling as a hobby to strangers, can change the way those people perceive us, especially when they see us doing it every day.

Gambling as a hobby is not meant for the weak mind, I don't even want to turn gambling into my hobby, because a hobby means something you can't do without, if you call gambling your hobby then you are already an addicted gambler.

Be careful turning gambling into a hobby, because you will keep doing it over and over, both your good and bad days, I gamble only when I have the money, but when something is a hobby you won't want to stop even if you can't afford it.

It is better to look at gambling as something you do only when you are ready to throw some money away, because losing money is the easiest win when gambling, do it only when you have that small money.

You have to be careful if you use gambling as a hobby because it requires a lot of money. We know that a hobby will definitely require money, and that means we have to prepare a certain amount of money to pursue that hobby. It can make you addicted to gambling if you cannot control yourself well.

But if you can use gambling as entertainment, you won't gamble too often because you know it can make you lose a lot of money. You will still try to limit yourself to gambling. It is true that gambling too often can result in losing a lot of money and can cause financial problems.

So if you can use gambling as entertainment, that is more than enough. You can enjoy gambling as entertainment and will not exceed the limits. You can use gambling as intended.

First of all I will like to define hobby in my own understanding. Something that one like to do always either for pleasure, leisure or entertainment. And example of hobbies which I know. Swimming which can be a game as well, reading which can also be a competition as " reading competition", and anything competition is a game, and sport. Sport can be someone hobby if the person love sports and like to partake in it. And that means something you partake that you have leisure and pleasure can be your hobby.

Why I brought this topic because someone told me here that https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.63928115 gambling is not a hobby and from my viewpoint gambling can be a hobby for the addicted gamblers and that argument made me to do some research and I also came up with this Gambling can be a harmless hobby or a serious addiction. and also from another source again Gambling as a hobby is legitimate so long as it starts of as and remains a hobby, which means self-control in order to pursue a satisfactory result with a limited budget
And lot more.

Upon all those sources and explanation, I still need the community input on the argument to know if gambling is a HOBBY so that I and the person will understand more.
Cheers.

Your definitely correct Gambling can be classified as a hobby, cause hobbies are something one find themselves doing with so much joy and love for it but I would say gambling it's a crucial hobby that one needs to think twice before making it as one.
That's to say you can find your self doing a particular thing which on the other hand is derailing you intoto aside giving you that pleasure and excitement you get when doing such.
So before categorizing or making gambling as one's hobby you need to be ready to face what ever outcome you get.

Every gambler should consider a hobby that provides entertainment for its users as a hobby, because hobbies are usually not played excessively. When they get pleasure, they usually stop playing, but now gamblers don't think like that, instead they consider gambling as a place to make money, so why? People compete and keep looking for the jackpot and keep playing until they forget themselves and become addicted to gambling because most of them think that gambling is not just a hobby but a place to make a lot of money.

Personally, I only consider gambling as a hobby, just like when I go fishing as one of my hobbies on weekends, sometimes I go fishing with my family and that is another hobby that I do when I lose at gambling, so I never consider losing at gambling as something I should regret and try to recover from, sometimes I need to switch to other, more enjoyable hobbies to get rid of the disappointment of losing at gambling, the point is that it is important for gamblers not to take gambling excessively, just make it just a hobby to relieve the mind is bored because of losing at gambling.

Gambling is a good servant. It will give you whatever psychological satisfaction you would ever want. If you want to earn money on the side and hustle. Then treat it like a business. Every roll would be like a business transaction where you manage risk and expectations. If you just want enjoyment, make sure that you have unlimited cash to play with. As much as gambling practices serves you then it will do you good. However if the table turns and you as a player is the one now serving the casino, then it's a bad position to begin again with.
I do not see gambling as one that is impressive because involvement in gambling is a step that must be done with awareness. There is no way to make steady money in gambling so there is no chance of seeing gambling as a business. I see gambling as a place to have fun by managing finances adequately when involved in it. So there is not much that can possibly be said when involved in gambling.

Gambling is better known as luck so the process of getting involved in it must be based on awareness. Although many people may be overly involved and unable to control. Therefore, gambling must be seen as an opportunity to have fun with the ability to control money when involved in it.

I can't say for sure what the difference is between gambling which is considered a hobby and gambling addiction. because now if gambling is considered a hobby, then what will happen is continuously depositing money. Because a hobby is an activity that a person really likes, therefore if gambling becomes a hobby, it is likely that we will continue to gamble. and I think this is not much different from gambling addiction, it's just that maybe when gambling is done as a hobby, we can accept the reality of what happens with the gambling we do, but that doesn't rule out the possibility that we will become addicted to gambling.
In my opinion there are still many things that can be used as a hobby apart from gambling, if it is a hobby you have to spend money and there are many other things that can be used as a hobby, because in my opinion making gambling a hobby will only make us experience difficulties in the future.

Upon all those sources and explanation, I still need the community input on the argument to know if gambling is a HOBBY so that I and the person will understand more.
In essence, if you ask me, of course I will answer that people's understanding of gambling varies, depending on whether they consider gambling to be a hobby, entertainment, fun, addiction, just for fun and so on, of course I consider all of these understandings to be correct, how to respond to them and how to think.

I take an example: someone enthusiastically supports a club or football player, they can do anything for their favorite club, whether they are a hobby or addicted to what they support, I think this is also the case with gambling, where they have a hobby of gambling on one type of game, so they are willing to do anything to gamble.

Conclusion: gambling if they consider it a hobby, for me it is their right and they are right and conversely if they consider gambling to be a pleasure I also consider it suitable, what they consider is of course what is best and right for them.

Gambling is indeed a hobby. Most persons might ague this because they think making gambling a hobby means you're getting addicted to it but that's not correct because the definition of hobby says "an activity that you love doing at your spare time" and that is what most of us do at our spare time. Some persons even go as far as gambling in their working hours which can  either make you loose your job or you getting addicted to gambling. I gamble when I have time for it and I make sure I don't do it in front of an underage.
Hobby will always be recreational activities that would keep us busy and we would be happy when anticipating in it but for gambling, it's out of balance and not choosing it is absolutely a wise decision. Gambling collects more money than we can actually witnessed with our eyes, whatever the case, we have to continue pushing for excellent results. Gambling is never a hobby, do we even know what it means to lose in gambling, not talking about the small losses but huge ones that will tremble our footsteps and accounts.
People that can say that gambling is their hobby are people that gamble with very little amount of money, and such people are only after the fun in gambling, because that is what they use to entertain themselves. It is not a must for you to gamble continuously. You can gamble during the weekend with your gambling budget.

Afterall, people that are discipline gamblers already know that gambling is not something that you should do for profit, because it is the opposite. This is why they could have self control over gambling, and they just do it for fun like paying for money in order for you to watch a movie in the cinema. Once you pay, you cannot have your money back, even though you didn't enjoy the movie.

If others entertainment things are can be hobby then why should we have to discuss about this that is gambling a hobby. In my personal opinion there no problem to thought that gambling can be also a hobby be  even if we do make others things for as our hobby those are also have to cost some money and as well as in gambling also. And I think if people are get on those gambling that can be also hamper for him like as gambling.
It is okay if someone considers gambling as a hobby and it is okay if someone considers gambling as an addiction. It may vary from person to person but to me it is addictive and harmful addiction.
Since it involves economic issues, even if it is taken as a hobby, many people would not want to take it up as a hobby because it has more negative effects than positive effects on the society. It is considered a harmful addiction in the society as it causes economic havoc as well as psychological and social damage.
