I don't think so. Wreck also means like ruining your life because i feel this too. My life is wreck because gambling, i become anti social and become lazy when go to work.
Thats not a good sign at all, if you became lazy at work, you risk of losing it, which is a greater risk to your life considering how bad is today economy, so I suggest you stop gambling immediately or at least go down a lot in the amount of gambling you play.
I think gambling in moderation can be helpful in your life as it is seen as entertainment for some to get them out of their regular life of doing the same thing over day in and day out.

Gambling should not fix your life but most of the time it will because of the wrong decision making of the gamblers. For their failure to understand what is the real purpose of gambling, for treating is as a money making machine to achieve their goal of easy money.

I think gambling is double-edged. It's a game of chances. You win some, you lose some. But most cases, it a win some, lose more scenario. It shoudn't be a make or break thing that will affect your life or your family entirely. Although there are lucky ones that had their lives changed, I don't think it's a good idea to place your life under uncertain chances
