It is very rash to keep large sums on such wallets. I keep only small amounts on MetVVallet, the rest I keep on the hardware wallet.

A Blockchain Mobile Operator With Token Rewards
Due to previous bad experiences, I am not in favor of accumulating large amounts of cryptos in any wallet, so when I have had the opportunity to gather significant amounts of ethers for no reason I store them in a single wallet, but I distribute them in a large amount of wallets although that implies an extra effort when trying to keep an adequate control of the multiple addresses in which my ethers are stored. And I think myetherwallet is a good place to hold your ethers, as long as you take all the necessary measures to protect your coins.

The BISTOX exchange - OWN WHAT YOU TRADE
Most of the ICOs are now on the basis of MEW, so 99% of my assets are on it. However, I don't hold everything on one,i own about 10. But here, of course, there is an inconvenience ,it's necessary somewhere to store all the keys and a little uncomfortable to constantly think that if I lose ,they will be impossible to recover. And there's nothing we can do with it. But responsibility entirely on me, it suits me.

I still think that if you have a lot of ETH, then it’s best to buy yourself a Trezor which doesn’t cost that much, better just take it and buy it so that there are fewer questions, I think it will be several times better.

Which large amounts are you talking about? You are asking about eth based tokens or purely about eth?, personally i have never faced any trouble or issues with mew and i think it is safe to store your assets there if you can keep your private key and password safe.

OP, the MEW website address is wrong. I think you should change it to avoid misleading people. Yes, I think MEW is a good wallet but users have to be responsible in the wallet security. It is good to use MEW with hardware wallet for better security.

I would say MYETHERWALLET is safe if you store your private key/JSON file in a secure place, you had better to store it in offline pc or usb and keep it secured.

MEW is just interface and all funds are stored on the blockchain internally . If you still can't fully trust MEW because of it's web interface you can use offline version , which could be found on their official page . It will be absolutely safe until you connect your storage device to internet.

I want to invest in good quantity. but it is very hard to rely on hardwallets. MyEthWallet seem good in terms of ease of availability. I need to know if it is enough safe to use MEW?
MEW wallets is used by lot of people for storing large amount of funds but if you are going to store them for long termpurpose then better go with Hardware wallets which only cost you about less than $100,and most of the ICO teams holding their fud in MEW so it is capable for large funds but you need to be aware of phishing links.
In any case, now the safety of your funds depends only on your caution and attentiveness. Not the appointment of hardware wallets or MEW, anyway, security depends on you.

Firstly please dont open this kind of threads. Newbies can try to use that with wrong URL.
You can reach true and legit MEW with that URL --- https://www.myetherwallet.com/

and my answer is yes. because when we are using mew it is not mean we are storing our eth to mew.
Mew is only a interface for providing us to reach our wallet. You can also use mew with your hardware wallets like Ledger.

I have my whole ETH investment and other erc token on my MYETHWALLET.org only and i totally believe in it. It is only the fault of the users which lead them to hack their wallet, So for that we cannot blame the wallet performance. If you use all security features fully then their is no chance of getting hacked.

It's important that you bookmark favourite sites that you visit, especially as you spell myetherwallet.org the way you did. Having said that, I think it's safe to use so long as you keep your private keys safe and you don't enter them on phishing/malicious sites. I certainly would hodl thousands of $$ in a hardware wallet.

For now, MyEthWallet is still safe. At present, tokens theft is due to phishing sites. I think as long as we can prevent phishing sites. Then your tokens will not have any problems.

Thanks, man. It's definitely not a phishing site, I went in through my bookmark and verified all the permissions. When I check my account on Etherscan, my tokens are still all there in the account. It's only on the actual wallet that they're not loading. Which is a problem, because that means I can't send them out to another address.

I hold most of my tokens on a keystore there, pretty reliable, but i wouldn't put thousands of dollars there without using ledger.

Is anyone having trouble with MEW today? I logged on and cannot load any of my tokens. Tried to custom add a token and it says "Default Node Does Not Exist"  Huh

Even if there is such a person here, I think you will not want to make it clear. I wouldn't do it. It would be a direct target. Isn't the most important feature of crypto coins anonymous?

most cases that occur in theft of the wallet will result from the user's error and negligence. all this time I remained safe with my wallet, there was nothing that caused my token to disappear in a hack by someone. so the point is safe as long as you are always careful and careful especially in terms of your pc's security
