Distribution of services, which are being used by IS, should be similar to this of regular people. So they're using everything, including cash and some tiny amount of bitcoin, which is mostly used for online fundrasing.
Certainly have the means, would not uncommon that most of the weapons bought by paying with BTC.
Of course they are using bitcoin! You think that it was just silkroaders that understand what anonymous money transactions can do. Think about it from a terrorist POV... they can pay people all over the world and basically be impossible to trace. In a world where we are waging cyber wars, it would take physical tracking to find out exactly where these terrorists coins come from in the end.
Although it really doesn't matter what currency they are using, lets focus on what's important and that is the activities these hatred fuel beings partake in... Also there is much interest in crushing crypto by certain groups of people in the world so don't buy into the idea that they push about how btc is used for bad things...

sure they will be using any mode of payment service, be it bitcoin or any other form of transaction that can really serve their purpose.

well good luck to us. How is it bad news for bitcoin? It's just like saying that the terrorists are using the dollar, how is it effecting the dollar? and how is it effecting the users of bitcoin?
Last I have heard is that they are using Turkish dollars! $800 million worth of oil apparently they have sold to the Turks for the very nice price of - 50% under the current market value.

The cash is here so long and disallow to use cash would not get you much popularity because everyone use cash. Also it would surprise nobody if ISIS is using cash because it is normal - everyone uses cash. But Bitcoin is quite different, Bitcoin is not used by many and may be viewed by majority as a suspicious easily then, it might be like Jude situation in early twenties - we are still the same humans with the same fears.
The way I see it, this situation can only be used against us if they want and need to shut us down no matter what. But I don't think this is the case. I mean look, no new statements, dust has settled down and I think that we keep over mentioning this and worrying about it too much!
Nothing bad is going to happen to Bitcoin about this ISIS nonsense in my opinion!

it seems that the news is true, we know there is no governing bitcoin probably because that isis using bitcoin for the purposes of buying guns, bullets, and other equip.

They can use this because its good for them and peoples who are giving aid to them as both parties anonymous doing their stuff secretly
It doesn't matter what they are using. ISIS is the problem, not Bitcoin. We can ban the Internet, weapons, cancel sport events, but the problem still will be there. If someone will fall for the propaganda against Bitcoin, I pity the fool.

The fact the mainstream media keeps talking about this nonsense prove how little they know about Bitcoin. It is way easier to get their illicit activities funded with cash rather than Bitcoin. First of all I doubt they know how to properly do the whole thing, which means proper knowledge of mixing, outputs and inputs, tor... it's really annoying, they get things easily done with their illegal oil and drugs business.

The thing with IS is that they probably think Bitcoin is some great evil because it comes from the west and uses the evil thing called the internet. There is so little evidence that IS can and is using Bitcoin that it is useless to speculate about it. They make enough money from oil and gold sales on the black market, so there's no reason for them to have to change.
What's even funnier is the fact that IF they are using Bitcoin (and if they are it's like 0.00000001% of their source of income) they are most likely using Tor and Tor was developed by US Army/intelligence department, so should the US Army/intelligence be blamed to be the inventors of what allows for Bitcoin to be more anonymous?
