Maybe they use Bitcoin for illegal things, but there main source is oli so yeah.
By the way with bitcoin can every one use it so it doesn't matter who it use.
I know that some bitcoiner here bought some illegal things.

ISIS also used US dollars as well as euros or any other currency that suits them at some point. For those who do not like Bitcoin this is just another opportunity to display it in a negative light.

Bitcoin is eveywhere and can be used like fiat currency.

If it's used by ISIS then it's no surprise. It's just that some news are exaggerated when broadcasting bitcoin is used by illegal acts.

The matter of concern should be ,where is all this money coming from? Not like ISIS have excelled at mining and they have 100's of miners to fulfill their war needs,They're being funded by some associations which are using cryptocurrencies as the way to get away and hide.

What if the answer is yes, would you stop using Bitcoin?
There is no point to discuss about this in here, because whatever happens we will definitely would continue to use Bitcoin.
Yeah agreed, whatever ISIS or any other bad stuff do by using bitcoin I would keeping used bitcoin.. There is no point for stopping us from using bitcoin.

One of the accounts they analyzed was found to contain $3 Million in US dollars worth of Bitcoin - See more at: http://thehackernews.com/2015/11/paris-attacks-isis-funding.html#sthash.ThiqoELQ.dpuf

Any early adapters of bitcoin can have that much worth of bitcoin so no reason for them to claim it is ISIS funds. I think this is only to create panic among the users.

There's no actual prove that they are using bitcoin. I don't see how this would put bitcoin in a bad light either. If they are using dollars as payment does that mean they are placing the dollar in bad light?

For now I don't believe it until I see actual prove of this. I don't think they are using bitcoins, I believe they use the black market to get their weapons and pay with cash.

maybe "they" try to hurt bitcoin on purpuse with those bad news because bitcoin itself was viewed a threat to the regular banking system way before anyone even assumed isis is using bitcoin

"they" would do and use everything to hurt bitcoin if its aa threat to their establishment

I doubt that Bitcoin will be hurt, because bitcoin is like money.
I don't think that ISIS want to hurt Bitcoin because that is a good source to buy illegal things and that is just sad.

How is it bad news for bitcoin? It's just like saying that the terrorists are using the dollar, how is it effecting the dollar? and how is it effecting the users of bitcoin?

I wouldn't believe it. Bitcoin isn't anonymous. Sure, can you use it to buy stuff illegally off the dark web? Yes. But to say that without absolute proof is a little bit too far. Show me evidence and show me proof, i'll take this claim more seriously.

I don't think so. Bitcoin is not anonymous enough. Don't forget that gouvernment can always see what's going on with all transaction.

yeah and..how they can know, if that exact transaction belong to isis? there is no way, it could be an exchange or a rich guy or whatever

so isi can use bitcoin how much it want no one will know shit unless they convert

Its true that bitcoin is not anonymous (http://www.bitcoinisnotanonymous.com/), but its not a full truth by saying that "gouvernment can always see what's going on with all transaction". Frist, eveyone can see it, as blockchain is public. But, linking transaction to real identities of people makimg is not stright forward. Even for government.

Let's be honest, IS has no use for Bitcoin that isn't already covered by an existing currency. It would also be infinitely harder for them to make use out of it, since the Internet, and a willing buyer, are both required.

Personally, I think they're using the Euro. If any allegations about Turkey trading with IS are true, then they would have a means of getting a valued, moveable, and fairly accepted form of currency into their treasury.

I don't mean to be a conspiracy theorist or anti-immigrant or anything, but this would also help IS make any "sleeper agents" look somewhat more like legitimate refugees, as US Dollars would likely look out of place or have a mildly more difficult means of acquiring the accepted currency.

Honestly, I would not be surprised if IS was using Bitcoin, but I doubt it.

Also with the anonymity arguments;

The gov't knows where IS is, so they have nothing to lose. The only person that might have an issue is the buyer, but IS could probably circumvent anything like this by having the coins run through one of those "coin washers" or whatever.

Its all crap.  I guess any news is good news.

This will just make people curious really.

I heard bitcoin back 2012 but hardly even tried using until someone offered me to receive a payment from them through bitcoin hence I created a wallet. Later did I know I can earn more with btc plus anonymity as a bonus.

Its what they do thats wrong, not btc's fault.
