Well technically yes, it is good to buy coins when it crash. Like others are seeing this as a opportunity to buy and have a decent profit. But a lot of factors to be consider here, like what's the reason behind that crash and how this coin is behaving in the market before it crash. The uptrend and the downfall of a coin is also must see, like if its recovering quickly when it dumps. Lastly the stability of it when it pumps, like how long it remains in that rate. Therefore, you must analyze first the market.

Hello fellow members Smiley

I was browsing coinmarketcap and was looking at the most fallen coins of the week... So i saw one at -97% over one week period and was wondering it would be a good idea to invest in it and similer ones cause they are at bottom and almost can't go any more down...

Is this a good idea/strategy??

Btw i am not looking at this as long term investment, just some quick bucks by day trading kinda.

Thankss

Depends on the coin.

Probably include ETH, LTC and the big boys. Same goes for BTC, buy the pullbacks.

It would depend on the reason why the coin's value drop. If it's just because a recent pump has happen and then it was dump but it stop in its previous support then maybe it's a good chance to buy. If it seems that it continues to drop for a long time then maybe it would still continue to go down and if you are looking to buy it in short term then its not advisable. There are many factors to look at when buying altcoins not just because the value of it is down then you should buy it.

It depends which altcoin is crashing down.If bitcoin price is going down and that altcoin also research then that altcoins and if it looks like a good coin then it is good to buy it to make profit.

It depends on the fundamentals of the coin. If the coin is good but the crypto market is down, I continue to buy. This worked well for me when Ethereum fell last month.

really depends on the reason for the crash in regards to wanting to buy it up. If the market was depressed like it just was then yes its probably good idea to buy the coin or coins. But if we were in a bull market and it was crashing then I would be pretty hesitant unless the coin had a unique feature which I had faith in that would bring it back to life.

Absolutely yes, but it's always depends what coin you want to buy be sure that this is not one of the shitcoin. When I say shitcoin  there are persons manipulated the price to pump then suddenly  sell their coin to those people they can easily fool .
Haha, how to know the altcoin we hold not is shitcoin in future Smiley? Any crypto on market can become to shitcoin if the community of them not using in one day and going to other altcoin. Every things is possible happening, remember that Wink
Yes it is in the nearest future some of that would become shitcoin. And thats a reality that we need to face be positive on all aspects here in bitcoin world because everything here can change rapidly.
Actually on crypto world, not have definion alive forever as gold or currency in outside. Because the value of them are virtual and set by the community use it, like a community using gems, gold when play MMORPG games and use FIAT for exchange it

If crash on altcoin has good prospects, is perfect idea to buy it even as much as you can. However, we must recognize the altcoin itself, lest we buy junk coins. Which is used to gain a moment's profit by developer.

it depends why they crashing i think..if normal market down and that altcoin also dump yeah you can buy it
I agree with him. Its just a bit risky. Aside from it depends on the cause of crash, it is also dependent on the result. If the crash us fixable, then that is an advantage for you, it may cause the market price to increase because they have to show the people that the altcoin is stable and usable again to gain supporters from the crytocurrency world

classic equity trading history shows that buying falling assets is a very bad idea. For crypto alt coins i would say it is even worse idea. Even if coin has any fundamental reason to gain in value (highly doubt about that) it can take ages to recover.
the golden rule of technical analysis is buying only if price action is uptrending and showing higher highs and higher lows.

i think it is a bad idea to buy explosive rallies as well. if you are late in the action it is better to wait for correction and only if price starts to uptrend again buy it at that point.

Only if you sell at the bottom (if your stop loss trigger or if you panic sell).

Always been good to buy altcoins when they goes down, but make sure the coins you are buying have a good development and great community.

it can be a good thing.

Look at what happened to NXT in the last few hours:
Great coin, but awful ICO for a childchain called IGNIS. Big fud and panic sales + the stop-loss triggers kicking in...

If you bought at 4,400 sats, you are in for a profit.
I let you go on bittrex see what is happening: https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-NXT

Not sure if and how it will come back. We will see.

when you buy at low you'd better make a survey about the coin , some coin is dead there is no need to buy

Signatum is a good example and most thought after the pump it was over, dev released quite a comprehensive white paper and road map, I think it was doing 600 sat at the time, it made quite a comeback and now doing 1907 sat. But like others mentioned its the type of coin and what perceived value it holds.
