yes it is a good idea. but you have to chose a good coin for this. There are many good coin ,when they crashed you can bought them and holding them you can earn profit.I would say buy PTOY,Waves,Nxt etc when they dumped. so crashing is also a good way for making money in crypto world.

As others have said, it depends on why it crashed, how much it crashed, and whether it is fundamentally a good coin.

I managed to buy some waves and some neo at the bottom of the dip, and they have both picked up strongly since. It's not always a good strategy, but in general I think if it's a whole market dip and some high quality coins have fallen hard, it makes sense to buy them.

I think the crypto market is a high risk market, as you can see the price can be pumped or dumped heavily. So it is not so easy to say if one coin is crashed and the price is  lowest.

It is good to buy low, profit is guaranteed. The market will always repair itself. But I would stick to the top 20 coins. Those coins have proven themselfand are safe.

It actually depends on the coin that's crashing and the reasons behind it. If you can see  that the coin still has a chance to rise after being dumped then i guess its high time to buy such coin. Then again, it still is a risk and you might have to hold on to the coin quite a bit longer than you expect since its not an overnight event.

Hello fellow members Smiley

I was browsing coinmarketcap and was looking at the most fallen coins of the week... So i saw one at -97% over one week period and was wondering it would be a good idea to invest in it and similer ones cause they are at bottom and almost can't go any more down...

Is this a good idea/strategy??

Btw i am not looking at this as long term investment, just some quick bucks by day trading kinda.

Thankss

I belive there reasons for crash are more important becouse if coin turned into full scam there is no need to buy it will never rise in value again
But if you exeriend moves like that BTC jump in price up and alts goes down then you have like 90% chances of bounce back in value.
But bounce back doesn't mean same value. You need lear more about febonacchi IMO

So what my strategy is buy tons of cheap altcoins mostly the ones who have dropped maximum in 24 hr, rinse and repeat lol.

That really depends since there is a chance that the coin you will invest in will dump all the way to 1 satoshi and there is also a chance that it would go high again after a month or more. It is like a gamble but always remember to not do the stop loss strategy, which is panic selling because it removes future possible profit. Just hodl and sell when you got nice profits already.

it depends on the kind of project or coin you are investing, if the dev totally left the coin and there's no adoption or continuity of the project coming in, then it's not worth to invest in this kind of project, but if there's updates and the dev is well known then it's a good option to buy and hold.

Yes it is good to buy altcoins when they crash because you will have a great opportunity to buy them for a less or a huge discount from the previous price and that is what most of the investors are waiting so just buy and hold and sell when the price spikes.

I have bought into some alt currencies after a crash, but they have not really risen to pre crash values ....yet.

So yes its obvious to say there are a lot of factors and trends to consider before buying.

I think its good to look at overall trend, and also examine why the coin is crashing....are the fundamentals of the coin strong....is it pumped&dumped, etc...I have been the victim of some pump of dumps, and learned my lesson....but there is good sales on coins to be had at the current moment.

when crash for a reason

Damn I not able to understand this illlustration.
Do you have any more of these or know where I can see such illustrations regarding crypto or trading in general?

These look so sweet and beautiful to look at and easy for brain to consume rather than reading text.

Really depends on the coin. There are a bunch of coins that drop 90% but are they good coins? Also look at the volume. Especially when it rises 90% look at volume too and maybe it could be a pump and dump.

Usually the big coins, if they drop like 20% are a good bet because you expect it to recover 20% back soon. Those are usually pretty good

Yes it'a a good idea but you have to be sure the price will rise again , if not you buy them for nothing and it will be intelligent if you can buy them for a lower price and you buy a lot , and after the price rise you can sell them .

HODLing is an art, not just a word...
it is a high risk move but it can work.
and you can easily know the answer to your question you know.
just go look at the history of all altcoins so far, check their charts for big dumps when they drop drastically in a short period of time then see what happens afterwards and how much (if at all) they come back after the crash. then study multiple of these scenarios to see what happened and why. then you can get a good feeling of the market and make a better informed decision.

It completely depends on the reason for crash, if the reason does not matter much, buying it would be a smart decision.

If coin has constant down line then it's better to avoid it, maybe coin was pumped and dumped. If coin have usual up and down then it's ok to buy it. Or maybe developers abandon coin? There are lots of factors which you have to look at, it's not just one, don't buy coin just because it lost its value.

It is hard to say. My advice is trying to know the reason why it is crashed. You should try to vertify the news, instead of hearing from others. Then keep in touch with the dev team and I think you will know if you can buy it.
