Yah in general but you just have to be careful with altcoins because they are not regulated and there are some scams out there. It's not hard to make an altcoin and there are even companies popping up accept 0.25 BTC for Altcoin production! It's gotta be in the 1,000's of coins by now Tongue Just tread lightly my friend.

Hello fellow members Smiley

I was browsing coinmarketcap and was looking at the most fallen coins of the week... So i saw one at -97% over one week period and was wondering it would be a good idea to invest in it and similer ones cause they are at bottom and almost can't go any more down...

Is this a good idea/strategy??

Btw i am not looking at this as long term investment, just some quick bucks by day trading kinda.

Thankss
Absolutely yes, but it's always depends what coin you want to buy be sure that this is not one of the shitcoin. When I say shitcoin  there are persons manipulated the price to pump then suddenly  sell their coin to those people they can easily fool .
Haha, how to know the altcoin we hold not is shitcoin in future Smiley? Any crypto on market can become to shitcoin if the community of them not using in one day and going to other altcoin. Every things is possible happening, remember that Wink

Yes ikr lol but its better to buy tons of cheap altcoins(like investing $5-$10 worth of altcoins gives hundreds of thousands of coins) and by the end of this year few of the coins will skyrocket like crazy(hopefully Cheesy) chances are more this way...

It is usually good when everything is crashing like we saw before hardfork of bitcoin.
Thats market behaving irrationaly. It is not because fundamentals of an altcoin have changed.
In those situations its a definitive buy
When the price of a specific coin crash or other words dump it is a quite a signal for traders to buy more or to wait until it reaches its full dump potential because if you are a trader you should always follows the principle of basic trading where you need to take the opportunities of dumping and pumping of Bitcoin. Where you gong to buy when the price is low and sell when the price is high. So it depends on your management if your decision will be going to be okay or not in regards to buying altcoin that is dumping.

I myself never invest in such coins. A coin which fall 97% in price just in a week can't be promising. There is no reason for a coin to increase in price after it has fallen.
If i want to choose between two coins that one of them has increased 100% in price and the other one has decreased 100% in price I choose the one that has increased in price.

It depends. If the crash is because of a dump in market then yes, you should buy as much as you can and wait for a pump. But if the crash is because of certain announcements made by developers then you should not buy the altcoin.

There is always reason on crash, I actually want to correct CRASH to Necessity, Even Bitcoin has to face those problem once in a while because there are few huge investors in each and every coin and many of them belongs to those countries where Crypto Mining is legal and subject to TAX, So on such condition if anyone want to keep on hold on those coins also  but they will be selling at least there expense and Tax amount of Coin there most crash happens, Those huge investors don't hold there coin in exchange and wait for good price they sell in current pricing to pay there expenses and tax, if you figure bitcoin price even in bitcoin there is some buzz every quarter because some of big industries are cashing out bitcoin to fiat for there expenses and tax. So be sure to determine why crash is happening, Normal scenario of crash then go ahead and invest.

Will be kinda risky. Surely, there's a reason for the dump big as that. -97% is not a normal dump and will probably cause of lack in profit if you'll invest to it. But if you won't mind it,  and would still invest for it, you're free to do so. In my opinion, it is okay to take shot if you'll only invest a small amoubt of money, it will serve as a trial. And if it will make you profit, it's good. And if it doesn't? atleast you won't loose a big amount of money.

Maybe yes maybe not, but it is depend how you explain crash?. Not every coin with low price is a good product to buy, we must see carefully. Some times that coin after crush become gone ( scam ), it's mean no more profit for us. See the price action and their volume to know where's the buy and sell area. Manage your money wisely and be patience. Good luck.

It's like a gamble, because crash coin must have risen again, but who managed to rise again very little while the other remains dead, we will never know the future

Yes it is good to buy altcoins when they crash because you will have a great opportunity to buy them for a less or a huge discount from the previous price and that is what most of the investors are waiting so just buy and hold and sell when the price spikes.

One of the things that it does give us an advantage is a altcoin who were to crash, but one thing we should have in taking the chance causes or problems that occur in it. Because if we just take the chance on altcoin crashes that occur due to the cause of something that causes the trust investors down or missing. I'm sure it's not a profitable kesemapatan, but a disadvantage. Because it crash or decline in prices can occur due to 2 factors (factors of economic and legal factors of loss of confidence)

Yes it is. They nearly all the time recover in the day or the following. Best is of course to buy when everything is red. Then you are assured it will bounce back.

Thanks for the reply guys.. greatly appreciated Smiley

So what my strategy is buy tons of cheap altcoins mostly the ones who have dropped maximum in 24 hr, rinse and repeat lol.
Avoid picking them up at Yobit, just a friendly reminder. Any coin that doesn't trade at two or three sites is potentially dangerous.

Hmm I see.. thanks for the tip Smiley

Right it is juat like wasting our money, if we can't afford yet to buy popular alt ,we just save our btc first and provide some additional amount until we were able to buy some in demand alt.

We cannot say it is always good to buy when they crash but if we look at the history, it is good to buy crashing coins but if they are abandoned coins you should think twice.

Someone once told me to look at the github activity to check if it was abandoned. Is there other ways aswell? Trading volume works to some limited extent

I often seen coins being valued too high from the start(Founder put up a too high start price). It launches and it crash from the gogo. It then stay dormant for years while it is under development and suddenly it start raising like crazy again.

edit: removed the bad example Tongue It was the wrong coin
