I hold 15% eth and I am currently struggling given the lack of answers on one topic: how many tokens will there be available?
It seems they have this kind of mentality where price does not really matter, which is one problem I have (if you invest and lose 70% because of bad decisions from their side, at least the community is quite upfront about the fact that they dont care).

So they say it is going to be more or less 100Mln coins available. They always state "roughly" because they are not really sure. They also expect "roughly" a 3% annual growth (let's say, 3 mln token every year) because some coins will get dumped (3 mln a year of dumped coins seems a bit too much to me...).

I am really scared in 10 years there will be as many eths as ripples... Pity because I really like the project

On the other hand PoS might improve the thing if you believe so, but I am starting to doubt PoS will be as profitable as they say:
- they either create more money and increase inflation for more than 3% to pay people
- PoS will be paid mainly on transactions, which divided by everybody (because having no need for a rig means almost everybody will try to gain from PoS and you won't be even able to repay for the inflation)

Just my thought as a post some time ago made me dig deeper into this... But maybe they will get hold of the economics, so if you are willing to bet on it...

Nicely said! Ethereum is growing community, before we speculated about bitcoin on 1000 dollars and now bitcoin is over 6000 dollars, now we can expect ethereum to go to 1000 dollars. I'm not some big fan of ethereum but look what is happening now, icos are having their year, everyday new ico appears and many use ethereum smart contracts. They are tied for ethereum, and that will boost ethereum progress, also this icos are using ethereum wallets, you need gas for sending them, all that tells me that ethereum price will grow a lot in the future.

I think you should study it first before asking. then you can compare every opinion that people say.
I think personally. bitcoin and eth always have more value than other allcoin. and both are worth to be invested

As of today, bitcoins price has increased more than 50% from when i first discovered bitcoin  and i was still a newbie then. And if only i knew how it works and has money to invest in bitcoin, I think it would have been the wisest decision to make. Imagine that in the next 5 years of investment in bitcoin, its price rises to maybe triple its price now. It would be better than investing in banks which will give you less than 50 % even after 10 years.

Thinking about investing in Bitcoin or Ethereum is the same as a few years ago, investors discussed the topic of investing in a company that manufactures an Apple or Blackberry device. At the present time, it became obvious which of them won.

Bitcoin and Ethereum are among the best in the world of crypto currencies, those two are champion. And for next 5 years they would be more unbeatable. Thus, it was prudent to invest on both. 40% on Bitcoin and 60% on Ethereum.

I think both have a bright future, I think bitcoin is a better investment but Ethereum is a very interesting proposition from a technology point of view. I dont think they are necessarily competing head to head, its like comparing stocks and bonds.

as long as you ave extra money wherein you can freely invest then why not.
bitcoin and ethereum's popularity nowadays for me  is just the beginning.
it will grow even more in the coming years.
and as we know the more users, then the more demand.
which will only result to higher price.
therefore it is a very worthy investment.

Bitcoin has the largest user base, the greatest network effect and it also has a limited supply, which makes it a better store of value. I don't see anything better than this for the next 5 years.

Both Bitcoin and Ethereum are great. I have already invested a lot of money in Ethereum but I decided to move to Bitcoin recently. If I were you, I would invest in Bitcoin. Bitcoin value has rapidly grown in the last few months. Investing directly into Bitcoin became even more profitable than mining. What a pity I have spent a fortune on Ethereum mining equipment.

Someone else mentioned an investment ratio of 70/30 to bitcoin. I agree with this 100%. Bitcoin is huge and the #1 currency with ethereum behind it. Of course you'd want to be in the top 2.

In my opinion it's wise to invest in both. One (bitcoin) is used as store of value and due to it's limited supply it will keep on rising, and has it keeps getting more and more mainstream acceptance it can rise to very high values. The other (ethereum) is used more and more as the base of many projects that can become successful in the future and if they have success so does ethereum because of the gas used and thus increasing its value.

If you are interested in the opportunity to invest money in buying the coins and expect a profit for several years, while doing nothing there is no better option than bitcoin you will not. If you are willing to work and earn more then you need to trade on the exchange. There is always need to sell and buy coins. It is difficult but profitable.

You should consider selling all your ETH before the fork and buying BTC and after you receive your FREE Bitcoin Gold, you can

sell those FREE coins to buy some ETH again. The Alt coins are not going to give you as much of a boost as BTC will do after

the fork. You will still have the BTC you bought and some FREE ETH. 

For me,i will place my investment in bitcoin because it's look solid and the price keep growing
I don't see that in ETH but it's your choice to make

In my opinion, it is more profitable and wise to invest in Bitcoin, but also investing in ETH is really great and will make you money surely. Both currencies have the best potential among crypto currencies actually, even if Bitcoin seems to be a bit more stable and having higher price

We can't predict what will be the BTC or ETH price tomorrow.
Only speculators trying to give us predictions.

We might see a new coin that will slowly or very fast give a good fight to both coins and finally might win.

If you would ask this question a year ago Bitcoin would be the winner but ETH gained much more (even when you look 4 month back).

Personally I hold 45% BTC, 45% ETH and 10% other tokens and I will change and play with my holdings as the market keeps growing.
