No, most likely it will just become a supreme method for store of value.

I think Ripple, Dogecoin or some of these other altcoins have the potential to be the world's currency, but a world currency will need to be politically backed instead of intrinsically backed like Gold, so who knows which one will win out in the end.  Shocked
yea other altcoin give you good profit. I you talk about world currency first you tell bitcoin. bitcoin is all of above. when you need money you can't sell other coin in local market. today bitcoin is most popular in world currency.
Bitcoin is not only single coin that is working in international market. There are many others but bitcoin is above all.
And this highness of bitcoin is just due to the yielding percentage of profit, nothing else make a huge difference like this. Altcoins are there but not so much efficient so yeah bitcoin is there for you on first priority.

On the other hand, there are people who adopt other coins too for long term holding also. We cannot be sure all the coins will be having bright future but compared to any other coins, bitcoin must be the only one cryptocurrency which is having highly speculated bright future.

I think it is impossible if bitcoin becomes money in the world, because it differs considerably from USD which already has unlimited stock in the world while bitcoin has 21 million stock distribution in this world but it isn’t enough for this world and it also has unstable selling price unlike USD which already has a stable price around the world
This is exactly the right thing, the main difference between the bitcoin and the UDS in term of number shared in the world. The number of bitcoin is very limited as we know that there are trillion of USD circulation in the world while the USD production is still continue.

The bitcoin is too tiny to be used in the world population if 10% of the world population start using bitcoin as a currency its price will reach high but as a currency it will fail.

Can bitcoin be the world's currency?
There is possibility that bitcoin can become our world currency and I think it would happen in the future. In addition to that, we all know that bitcoin is widely accpeted and some people use it to pay their bills and to buy some stuff and in the word you can simply say that bitcoin is also currency.

Can bitcoin be the world's currency?
If you want to buy coffee at Starbucks or burger at McDonalds or buying a magazine at a 7-Eleven.
That probably won't happen soon, if ever, not without serious upgrades like LN in place first.
We need to face it - Bitcoin's user experience is terrible and Bitcoin won't be able to confront private payment systems.
Because, frankly speaking public blockchains are slower than private payment systems - which may change in the future tho.

With the high level of volatility, I do not see bitcoin becoming the world's currency. However, I see bitcoin being used globally more as a store of value than a currency. Just an assumption though as anything can happen. But using one currency globally?  Huh

Can bitcoin be the world's currency?

No it cannot ever replay centralized currencies. That would totally cause a lot of chaos for sure. If a decentralized currency like bitcoins become the main currency of a country then it would be in utter disarray because the government cannot control inflation and other factors that are being done to stabilize an economy. Bitcoin cannot be controlled because the market is the one dictating price. There is now way the government change this and will likely collapse a whole economy and send it to a depression for sure if it happens.

Can bitcoin be the world's currency?
Everything in this world is possible dude. And it is a cryptocurrency we are talking about here at this point. There is a man taught me that in cryptocurrency we can find that anything is really possible. He is a member of XEM team. And if I am not mistaken, XEM belongs to top 10 in coinmarket.
We all know that it is possibile and I hope it would happen bitcoin. I believe that bitcoin will become our best currency and it will accepted in all kind of transaction. In addiiton to that, I belive to the great potential of bitcoin and I think it will become our world currency.

It is already a world currency. But if you are saying that bitcoin becomes the dominant medium of international exchange, then that is less likely to happen. Governments of various countries won't accept a decentralized medium of financial system ever. If that ever be a cryptocurrency then that currency would definitely be backed by some government.

On the internet it will be. But with the recent bans in different countries this is now going to be impossible.
I thought before nothing can stop bitcoin but now they have find a way to do it.
But I have still one question in my mind. If they ban the bitcoin in one country, what agency of the government is tracing the bitcoin movement inside or outside their country. Can they really know that?
Many of us use to think like that before and specially when there was no ban in China regarding the ICO’s. Now when Chinese government is imposing a ban over the ICO’s which for sure is leading to gateway to ban bitcoin in China shows how vulnerable bitcoin is.

There are lots of intelligent minds working with the agencies in different countries of the world who may have find it how to trace the bitcoin movement. The US agency IRS have already claimed that they can trace 50% of the bitcoin easily.
Yeah that was right. It is pretty scary and at the same time its amazing though on how they are able to track down bitcoin movements and even those owners. Sometimes I do even think about your assets are no longer safe in bitcoin and there is a possibility that it will lead to death of bitcoin. I can even think that maybe someday bitcoin will be imposed with taxes by the government, they really wanted to have an access by any means for them also to make money, a bit scary but I am just fantasizing it though.

Of course Bitcoin can be the world currency its possible i think and its my personal opinion.Because now a days BTC is the most popular digital currency over the whole world.

I don't feel so. 40 years after world doesn't require a currency which take 10-infinite time in getting transaction confirmed. Future high-tech, fast world requires a currency which is free from miners' influence and arbitrary and is completely decentralized.

Can bitcoin be the world's currency?

I highly doubt it, does not mean I do not believe it. this is because bitcoin is the virtual currency, and serves as a tool of the digital world.
and if bitcion becomes the original currency. I think it is possible that bitcoin could become the world's currency.

Actually, many people believw that bitcoin will become our world currency and I do believe that it would happen in the future. In addition to that, it is possible to happen because as of now it is widely accepted in some country and they also use it as money that they use in different kind of transaction.

I do not think it would be possible for bitcoin to be the universal currency because the universal currency is USD, USD has been the universal currency since World War 2 until now it will be difficult for bitcoin to replace the USD.

You mean become the main currency and replace paper money and others?
If you mean that, i don't think so. Although bitcoin is already popular and many people use it, it'll be too difficult for bitcoin to become the main currency.
Moreover, bitcoin is more like anonymous and can't be ruled or controlled, so it'll be hard for the goverment to do regulations with bitcoin.

Can bitcoin be the world's currency?

I think it’s impossible because there are countries that are against it. Its price is not stable so it cannot be a worlds currency because it can cause a problem at the future. It can be a great help to many and being used all over the world, in payment transaction for buying goods and services but it will not enough reason to make it as a worlds currency. And also many people still don’t know it or interested on it like the elderly, children, or other people that don’t have an internet connection. And also I think the government will oppose to it because it is decentralized so they can’t add tax on it.

No I don't think it could be the worlds currency, that's too far to be possible. What about those countries who have no internet access, how could they acquire this currency if they know nothing about bitcoin? That's too selfish to think that it could be that title.
