For bitcoin to be the world's currency, i think this is impossible, bitcoin is just a non tangible digital currency like its real currency which more stable value than bitcoin whose value is so fluctuating / changing over time and whose numbers are still limited. In my opinion, bitcoin will remain as a new breakthrough or just another side from the real money only, to make money in a more modern way that must use internet connection.

Can bitcoin be the world's currency?

I will just say perhaps. I don't know actually. With the high volatility of bitcoin right now, I am afraid it will just be unstable to be used as a world's currency. Some are not spending a single satoshi even because of the prospect of BTC's price to shoot higher soon.

I have said this and I am saying again. Money is an expression of the work. When there is no work, there is no money, or the value of the money is little.

Money was invented as an easier way for barter, that existed 2000-5000 years ago. Instead of giving an object and receiving other object, people were receiving money for that given object.

Bitcoin was invented primarly to give some money and receive bitcoin instead, not to give an object and receive bitcoin. In this acception bitcoin is not real money, it is something that has been invented instead of money. Time will tell if bitcoin will become the future world currency or not, I would say that this will not happen in the next 10-20 years.

In my opinion bitcoin cant never be a world currency it will remain as digital currency or just a storage of hidden treasure. Countries accepting bitcoin is just a mode or method of payment in different market or industry but being a currency government will impose a genius regulation about it. But in our world everything is possible so we cant tell what happen next. Everything i wrote is my own opinion and understanding i dont want to hurt or disrepect anyone in this forum...

I don't think there has to be one single currency. Currencies can complement each other quite well. So perhaps we'll see that every country still has his/her own fiat, but crypto's are supported, but not regulated (that much) as well.

most likely not, because an eye if it wants to be a global currency or an international currency requires political support from some ruling countries, therefore for now bitcoin is unlikely to be the world's currency

In a short time frame it is not possible to become global currency without supported by officially, but in the long run there is a potential to become one of the strongest currency.

It is already a currency that can be used worldwide, so yes. But if you mean that it will be the main currency everywhere, I do not think so. Fiat will still remain however strong gets. And it is healthier to have other currencies other than bitcoin.

You can never say never but i'd highly doubt it will become the worlds currency! Certainly I think it will continue to grow in technology, use and awareness but I can't see it being the world's currency personally.
why do you think bitcoin cannot turn into the worlds currency? Bitcoin is very popular at the moment.
and the value is still rising. i personally think it might even reach 10000 dollars in about 10 years.

No. Not yet.
There may have been some people who are saying yes. I say they are too optimistic but we have to be true and see reality.
This world right now is not yet organized to be set into online currency that will be circulating. That needs world peace too which cannot be done. It is impossible. It can be a currency for all but just online which is different from being a global currency.

Actually the bitcoin is the world's currency right now. Why did i say it or what's the prooft?

1. It is used by different people around the world. (Eventhough some country didn't accept it)
2. The most known currency and the most valuable currency in crypto.
3. It is now used as a mode of payment.
4. Some countries stores accepts bitcoin.
5. The value of it is increasing and increasing.

By just look at this features of bitcoin you can say that it's now a world's currency.

Can bitcoin be the world's currency?
Your question was asked many times and majority of the answers is "NO" Bitcoin is only applicable for sending and receiving money in a more faster, easier and secured way rather than sending fiat money but ahead of this advantages of bitcoin I think It will never become a world currency because of many factors no. 1 is volatility and another is lack of support from the government I think banks will not agree using bitcoins in the future.

At this stage I would say NO to Bitcoin being the Global reserve currency. Bitcoin is still sorting out scaling problems and would not be able to handle large amounts of transactions that would be required by a global reserve currency. If we move towards that scenario, the scaling problems would first have to be solved.

The Lightning Network is the next step towards mainstream adoptions, but I am still not sure if it would be able to handle such a load.

Can bitcoin be the world's currency?

can be. bitcoin should only make some of the development and breakthroughs that everyone can accept. because currently the bitcoin system is very rigid. I guess if bitcoin can make adjustments to the times and technology, I think that will happen.

Can bitcoin be the world's currency?

Taking over fiat? NO! Being used globally? Possible! I see bitcoin as a digital currency that can be used as a store of value, and one day can be easily used as a mode of payment globally but fiat will still definitely remain for each country. Just the way we have dollar as the most used international currency globally but still never stopped each country from making use of its own fiat currencies is the same way we will end up having bitcoin. However, I foresee other crypto currencies being a preferable day to day micro payment means while bitcoin will end up being a store of value like gold unless we start having an easy micro transaction soon.
