Yes it is quite possible, since what change the market is the demand and supply, and if the entity is great and powerful enough, it will be easy for them if they want to manipulate currency market, since no one rule here so there's no one like government that can protect the market from that thing to happen.
But they will surely need lots of money to do that, and it doesn't really ensure that they will gain any advantages from this, so why should bother to do that?

Indeed, it's very executable for someone to regulate virtual cash relying in what digital currency, on the off likelihood that someone contribute or hold a bunches of coin at that time pull back it, it'll influence that individual money showcase. this is often factor was actually occurring in showcase trade therefore i feel it's conceivable in addition to occur in virtual money advertise.

Big Investors often manipulate Crypto market with the power of their volume trading. Also they have huge network of people which follow their trading signals. They can easily create a coin pump or dump a coin with their trading calls.

If an entity is large and powerful enough, is it possible for it to gain a monopoly advantage and manipulate the rises and falls of the virtual currency market?
In my opinion, Altcoins in the virtual money market operate on the supply and demand of the entire economy of the world, if there is a powerful country affecting the market, the price of the altcoin will fluctuate in volume supply and demand of investors. But in my opinion, no power can control the entire cryptocurrentcy market.

For me i think yes but not directly,e.g. spreading fake news to let the people panic that causes the bitcoin price in a dump for their own benefit.I'm referring to those big whales in crypto economy that buys bitcoin in low price because of the fake news.

yes only whales can do that they can manipulate the cryptocurrencies and sometimes they will spreading the FUD of the coin through social medias of their followers and it can start down the coin, I remember the famous investor said that "bitcoin is a bubble" seems like he trying to down bitcoin but I think it was effective.

It depends on which virtual currency. For example, Bitcoin and ETH are very popular and held by many users evenly, it would be hard to manipulate the market. Moreover, there is no benefit for those holder for manipulating the currency since all holders want the price rising.
It is not as difficult as you believe while getting bitcoin now is very expensive in the early days of bitcoin you could get it for nothing, faucets gave full bitcoins, someone could have more than 1000BTC by collecting from faucets when they gave such high prices so it is not odd to think that some whales have so many coins they can manipulate the market as they want.

They can really manipulate the market, I think it happened during the dump of bitcoin. Who knows, they are really trying to dump bitcoin so they can have more of it or pump it higher so they can have much profit. Everything is possible in cryptocurrency, specially with the new coins they can really manipulate it but don't be scared just know how to ride properly and you can also make money.

Someone or something?, very much possible. A new report from The New York Times this week suggests that Bitfinex, a virtual exchange, and its currency, Tether, have been helping to artificially prop up the value of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. A market analyst says that, "This absolutely reeks of price manipulation". Still, there’s almost certainly too much uncertainty at this point for the price to stabilize.
If someone has a power like dev that has a very large amount of coins probably about 50% of the total coins of course they could have manipulated the price of a coin in the market, because the key is just manipulating supply and demand. for bitcoin manipulation may be a bit difficult because total user is very large and many of the users are quite keen to distinguish where true news or speculation/hoax

I believe so, there is a chance. But I don't think you can benefit from doing so. Like when you buy almost all of the bitcoin which will then make the price go up and then you sell it. Or maybe you just have to hack the servers and create massive fear and then FUD came in, the price goes down and then you can start monopolizing it. But you must have a bigger amount of money for you to do this. Only fools would do this. If given a chance I wouldn't even care to do this. Why should I? Its cheating.

is actually quite difficult to manipulate prices in the market. because the price of crypto is influenced by supply and demand. maybe if someone wants to manipulate the price in order to go up, they buy lots of coins so demand on the coins goes up and prices start to rise, then they sell it when the price actually goes up.
It is not difficult bro. We are not talking about a single person here and if it is by that we would say it is definitely difficult to manipulate the market. You think all those movements you see on the charts are not manipulations ?

The bull and bear effects on the market. Some have the resources and a huge one to play with the market to their advantage while the weak hands suffer it the most, referring to the weak investors who end up selling at losses.
No, but manipulations occurs in market. Once everything is going good and ultimately we see the downfall in market. This abrupt down is not involuntary or a coincidence rather a big planned game that is being played by the whales out there. Majority of times, their own personal interests are involved and without caring what will be the effect on general public, they manipulate the prices.

I am not sure about, but as i continue learning about morr advance information about bitcoin, the answer is yes. They say thay some big whales can probably do this especially if they have this group and make a plot to do it. If a big whales sell their bitcoin, there would have a big effect in the price of bitcoin. Then, after this big spike in bitcoin, they probably buy another batch of bitcoin, in a lower price. I am not saying its true, but this probability might have some basis.

Is it even a matter of if it is possible or not? It is already happening. How do you think the market was pulled down completely just to shed away weak hands and for that to happen at that level and up to that level, I am not surprised at all that the market is manipulated by whales.

They already have the monopoly advantage and this would keep on as long as we keep having some FOMO movement in the market for no reason.

Yes ofcourse! They can manipulate and control the market because they have a very huge capital, The movements of the market is depends on how many Volumes it makes so you can manipulate small investors if you have a high capital.
It means if that you invested 70% or more of someones circulating supply of their coins it means that you controlled the movement of that coin because other supplies are on your portfolio.

If an entity is large and powerful enough, is it possible for it to gain a monopoly advantage and manipulate the rises and falls of the virtual currency market?
Monopoly? Not exactly, if you take monopoly as in a monopoly form of market where there is only one seller /a cartel or a company selling a same product /service at different prices to different people.
But manipulation, definitely yes. Monopoly advantage like you said is possible and does happen in the markets every day by the bulls, what we call as whales in the cryptocurrency markets.
I feel they both go hand in hand. You think we do not have a cartel already ? This is not one person, they are probably some group of big holders who are in the market making the decisions and basing it on the emotions running through the chart at most times. One thing I have noticed is there will always be a form of monopoly as some will always have the highest advantage and the weak hands have really given them that advantage already.

If we are thinking of holding a huge portion of it, we are not talking about a single holding of probably 500 BTC here as a lot of them hold more than this. But in the long run of it, they are always the one making the real market while the rest of the traders are just following put, so at the end of it all, we just have to keep watch.
